What, you think losing your legs and being torn in two is the same?
Let's be serious, he was TORN IN TWO. If that happened to a human, dead. So why not apply a bit of human phsyology to the TF's so we can relate to them better?
People, look past your blind Jazz loving and see how it benefits the story, and the greater story. Jazz dies, someone else is introduced in future movies.
And there's no proof that his spark was in his chest. It could have been in his groin. Plus early scripts had Megatron devouring his spark so had that been left in it would have made so much more sense and we wouldn't have all these "Wah wah wah they shouldn't have killed Jazz" threads popping up every two weeks.
frenzy got his freaking head cut off yet he still lived! if a human's head got cut off they would be dead. they cant just roll their head and get a new body! if your gonna talk about relating human and tfs then look at ALL humans and tfs. not just jazz!
~Windcharger~ wrote:My point was that you could get more emotional impact from a larger audience by killing a character that has been developed better. Jazz is hardly in the movie, so those who do like Jazz and complain about his death have very little to go on character-wise. Yeah he did some cool stuff in the movie, but that doesn't tell you much about him as a character. It would've had a greater impact if they killed off Bumblebee instead...

Are you freakin' kidding me?
Bumblebee is a backbone character. They need him. I cried enough when he was captured.
Besides, if they had killed Optimus again everyone would complain that the movie was too flippin' repetative. And if he'd killed Bumblebee we'd all have to deal with way more complaint threads on this site!!
And if I may say so, Bay would be DEAD now if he'd had the gall to kill off BB.

That's not a death threat towards Bay is it?

Bottom line with me though, I just hope Jazz comes back.
back in black?

I think that is THE reason why Jazz was killed. Bay has expressed his dissatisfaction with his Pontiac Solstace form. But he had to go along with what GM wanted. So by killing him in the movie, and then bringing him back to life possibly with that allspark piece, Bay can choose an alt mode for him more to his pleasing.

People are saying that Bumblebee survived losing his legs therefore Jazz must survive being ripped in half. Well, aside from the obvious point that I think Burn mentioned, that theyre not the same, theres something else you need to consider.
If one person gets ripped in half and dies, it doesn't make sense to say that ALL people who get ripped in half will die. I know its a slim possibility of living, but I think we need to stop comparing one person's injuries to another.
I believe there was a Ripley's Believe It Or Not story in which a child survived a shotgun blast to the head at point blank (honestly, don't ask me how). Just because Bumblebee survived a similar injury doesn't mean Jazz would. There are minute variables that could totally change the same situation for both of them. Maybe shock was a factor for Jazz? I don't know.

Look at how many humans and Autobots it took to bring him down.

Four words: Mike the Headless Chicken.

Surprisingly, that statement summarizes my point fairly well. If you look at my first post, you will see the point I'm trying to make. I didn't really mind them killing Jazz in the movie, however I still contend that it lacked any real emotion like the death of Optimus Prime. Because Jazz never had much screen time, he simply becomes a throw away character. If it was an away mission in Star Trek, Jazz would be the guy in red. You might think he's kind of cool, but his death isn't going to make you weep.
If Bay wanted his movie to have even more impact, he should kill a character people actually like, such as Bumblebee. That would have made for an edgier movie. Sure, more people would be complaining right now, but at least he could say he had the guts to do something with cinematic impact. As it is, his movies are all like marshmallow fluff. Very delicious, but lacking any real substance.
