Well I guess he is
Also, there is a story behind this haul:

I dont know power rangers from voltron so I thought the store had 2 components of the original Megazord: triceratops and sabretooth tiger. So I searched throughout the thrist store for the 3 missing animal components, I spent a long time there looking everywhere to no avail. I still buy these two. I then realize that this is not a sabretooth tiger but the yellow lion from one of the multitude of Voltron series. So there wasnt a full Megazord at the thrift store, just random limbs of different combiner toys of old.

But what I wanted to talk about was how the toy I am most fond of in this haul is Beast Hunters Megatron. I always kinds wanted him but I just didnt want to spend much. And 2 years later I have him for the price I wanted and I am super happy. The mold and design for Prime Megatron was never good, but this is by far the best version. Its the only version that actually has personality in the alt mode. It still looks like a mess but at least it looks like something and not just a flightmode. What really sells this to me is the fact that the arms have fins making them look really part of the alt mode in the back. It completes the alt mode. Plus we no longer see his head which brings more identity to the alt mode itself. I really like this toy

He's a cool oddball figure. I like that one a good bit and was fiddling with mine the other day. I have a growing collection of beast hunter and other odd ball figures he commands.
So how is that Arcee treating ya?

Ouuu a croissant, thats pretty french, you might fit in afterall. You guys have to try the poutine though, I will be getting some for lunch
Thanks Itscram, I am very proud of this haul. Its got a bunch of good stuff I would recomend everyone to try out and from different years, lines and even brands.
But no, it wasnt found in a thrift shop. While those are fun, they are never complete. A thrift shop helps me know if I like a mold eough to get a complete one. Its also a fun way to build a cheap gobot collection and get some g1 toys that were never reissued for cheap. But the stuff is never complete.
This lot was local. I had to walk to the middle of nowhere (which was still in the area of my usual tru/Walmart/thrift shop hang out, but thats a coincidence). It was a 20 min walk from there, and I ended up in a women's clothes warehouse. The guy selling was a warehouse manager and he was in his warehouse with his bis full of toys, getting them sorted to sell online. He had G1, MP and Prime toys but his collection ended at year 2012 it seems. I had most of what he had already.

I really like how that Megasharkticon actually has an alt mode that is coherent and seems to be its own. Like someone (channeling HR Geiger) put thought into its look independently instead of just looking at a robot mode and thinking how it could rearange the limbs.
As for Arcee, the guy I boughtit from had not transformed her in a while, probably from when he first got her because her feet were so tight to move that I created stress marks on both of them.
I am also really puzzled as to how its possible to plug her arms i vehicle mode. I can see the pegs and slots but the big shoulder armour makes i hard to plug things in correctly, it looks misaligned. And while I like the way her breasts are formed, they dont lock in (right?) and the one on her left perks outward instead of remaining flush against the chest.
Maybe I am not transforming this toy correctly.

carytheone wrote:There's a trick to the arms. You have to move the elbows a little farther than you think. The wing pegs into one side and the arm pegs into the body. Once you get it, it'll make sense. But it should fold up nice and tight and slim.
Thanks, I will try that when I get home

Hey guys, I thought this could be a good spot to brainstorm with likeminded friends about lists I am thinking of doing.
These are really fun and interesting, but exhausting:
Top 5 Retools
Top 5 Exclusive Hasbro redecos (retail toys)
Top 5 Exclusive Hasbro molding
For the retools, I am thinking:
TAV Voyager Grimlock
Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus (both classes)
The Classic Conehead seekers
BW Killer Punch
Generations Sandstorm
For Exclusive redecos, I really dont know aside from:
G2 Combiner Wars
Thunderton
Universe Nemesis Prime
For Exclusive Hasbro molding (either new mold or extensive retool) I was thinking maybe
Titanium Fallen
Voyager Predaking V2
Megasharkticon
BM Night Viper
BM Tankor
But I dont know, I am looking forward to your thoughts on this!

See, there is just something cool about that blue on that Thundercracker. I said it before, but I prefer that version over the Takara. Wish I hadn't let him slip through my fingers. I stood in TRU holding him many times.
About your lists from the post above...
What about some of the exclusive repaints of Cybertron toys? Evac - Springer, Seeker as Dirge, Noise Maze (can't think of his Cyb name ATM) as Ratbat. Evac as Springer was a great one.

I just see him as the OG toy accurate version. Pretty much the only thing I don't like is the flat grey whereas Skywarp had silver paint. Everything else is delicious on him thoughCobotron wrote:See, there is just something cool about that blue on that Thundercracker. I said it before, but I prefer that version over the Takara.

Oh yeah, those universe redecos, smart thinking! If I am not wrong, Blades was also Hasbro exclusive, using that Evac mold. Thats the version I have of that awesome mold.

One of the hottest commodites when it comes to TFs for collectors is Takara Animated Blackout. That is an awesome looking mold and maybe the best voyager class toy and Hasbro didnt get it. Same with jetpack voyager prime which looks like Batman. Trust me, the animated line would be more on a top 5 best exclusive takara toys than Hasbro toys. And their rodimus minor deco ooooooooo baby:

Transformers Animated Rodimus Minor (Rodimus) Gallery
And dat Ironhide

Transformers Animated Ironhide (Armorhide) Gallery
I know its subtle, but the two tone red looks gorgeous and imitates the animated lighting.
