He is more like a mistress
And man, this is fun. I definitely want to use Megatron Sharkticon in some lists and I am not sure where exactly to put him since he works for a few things. But he's definitely going somewhere, so I started looking at pics that compare the others of that mold and I found this pic:
The first thing I thought was:
Man, that clear purple Megatron with the black is REALLY nice. Wish I had him.
And then I realized the clear purple came from his Micron bat that turns into wings and a sickle. I already owned him, WOOHOO! Alwys fun to know you would buy your stuff over again if you didint already own it
Gonna have a fun haul tomorrow

I knew I needed that mold/deco the moment I saw him. He's a fun and wacky bot.william-james88 wrote:I definitely want to use Megatron Sharkticon in some lists and I am not sure where exactly to put him since he works for a few things.
As far as list...
How about remolds/decos with no fiction.
Or crazy one shots.
I've found that lately I'm building a freaky beasty bot collection. Mostly just a mix of Tak and Has beast hunters stuff. Those decos and remolds are just so much crazy fun!

Well here are the lists he could appear on, I dont know which ones he deserves to be on though:
Top 10 Best Hasbro Exclusive Toys (molds)
Top 5 Best Retools
Yop 5 Most Random but Awesome inclusion in lines (Thunderton would also be there, since he is super random)
Top 5 Best Beast Themed Vehicle Modes
Feel free to tell me of any other toy you would suggest for any list mentionned above.

Top 10 Best Hasbro Exclusive Toys (molds) - maybe an honerable mention
Top 5 Best Retools - its definitely a cool retool, but is it best?
Yop 5 Most Random but Awesome inclusion in lines - this YES!
Top 5 Best Beast Themed Vehicle Modes - I can see it
Speaking of list, when are you going live with your legends/legions list? I was thinking of doing next month's photo challenge as "the little guys". Any thoughts on that theme? It might be fun to time them together.
Also August's theme will be "Transformers: The Movie" to celebrate the new re-release! BOOM!

Can you come up with 5 better retools? Just to give me some inspiration.
And the Legion/Legends list is up to Cobotron. He still has to finish it up before I can post it. The current date aimed is July 23. Here is the schedule for upcoming lists

I think Megasharktitron is more of a crazy oneshot/offshoot kinda thing and should be grouped with similarly unique things.william-james88 wrote:Can you come up with 5 better retools? Just to give me some inspiration.
But he is one dope retool and makes that mold way more interesting. I do find that some of the fins and unique mold limits posablity.
I'm sure someone could come up with a ton of great retools. Some of the CW stuff comes to mind immediately. As does some of the Prime retools, like Chromia. She is actually a great retool. You can barely see Arcee in there.
The PRID UM is better and the PRID Prime mold. Not much changed, but those shoulder pauldrons...
There is always Gen Sandstorm. That's All I got for now

Haha, my number 1 on that list is sandstorm, and Ultra Magnus is there too, but I tie him with his cyberverse version which is also a retool from prime. The reason I really want to showcase this megatron is because of all the wor that went into him and how it fixes a lot of the alt mode. The kibble is no longer extraneous and everything adds to it. Either giving it a tail or addig to its shape, and covering the robot head. Its really great how it actually makes you want to transform the figure now and gives it a decent althoug weird ass alt mode.
Chromia is a good one thanks!
As for CW, I dont think I will include any for a few reasons:
1. I dont think they are that good. None of the retools add anything the original didnt have. Its just a plane that is now a different plane or a car that is now a different car. None are too exciting and instead of it looking like a lot of work went into it, it feels more like the retool was done to avoid more work. In all the others we describe, they have extra transformation steps due to the new molding. But that doesnt happen with the CW deluxes. It only happens with Hotspot/Onslaought and I really dont find those molds that great.
2. I also dont think many of those are retools. Something is a retool when new tooling is added to an existing design, but for that an existing design must be established. There is no proof that air raid is a retool of skydive or vice versa. And Hasbro came out and said they were all planned simultaneously, so technically none of those are retools and nothing I could count on the list.
However, I if anyone asks, I will use the 1st reason rather than the second since rather than get technical its easier to simply say that I dont find any of those as great as the others.

I don't 100%"transform him correctly. I take those bits that go around his head in alt mode and leave them straight up and together in bot mode. It adds kinda of a best monster samurai look.
I'll snap a pic when I get home.
I agree on the CW retools. I think they are retools because the mold is different. They're just weak retool. I like your thinking and only include dramatic changes. But you know I support the integrity of your list.
So yeah, I'd love to see a list to spotlight old sharky Megs. I'll let my brain stew a bit and see if something pops up.

I will probably use that shot of the back comparison to show how the retooling on sharkticon megatron adds to the alt mode rather than just looking random and useless.
DO you have the standard Hasbro version as well? His hands arent made to hold 5mm weapons, but Takara's was. And the sharkticon Megatron uses the Takara hands so that he can hold his weapon.

Also, I have had a clear plastic generations roller for a looooong time and it didnt come with the gun the Optimus mold comes with. So I was never able to have him be held looking the right way. But now with Pipes, I can! I dont mind pipes not coming with Roller, this makes my roller be his by default.
