I like the toys so far. I already got the main megazord but I do have a beef with the fact that the auxiliary zords only come with a repainted megazord... so far.

Thats exacly what it is (although the legs must remain legs and the arms must remain arms) howeer, they end up having ports all over so you can turn arms into weapons to attach to the sides. Like the claw hands can become claw weapons that you can attach to the shoulder.

And unlike TFs, this becomes compatible FOR EVERY LINE, since 2010. So, a toy that just got released could go scramble city style with a megazord from 2010.

I picked up the Legacy Tiger Zord today. I can see why its so expensive. Its full of die cast and instead of any stickers, its all painted. Thats right, all the detail you see is painted detail, I will have more pics below to show. I also took pics of how you can combine the Tigerzord with other fun stuff, its also compatible with the other zords

Wow. Those things are true players for real.

So, is MMPR stuff at the same level as TF stuff for you or do you bounce back and forth between priority? It seems like the MMPR stuff has more play value for the money. As you mentioned, all current Megazords can Scramble City with anything post 2010?! That's amazing. And if they are high quality products, even better!

And you know what, they remind me of some awesome TF G1 bots like Sixshot and Galvatron, just bricks that are fun to mess around with!

That Tiger Zord looks awesome! All the goofy toy charm of the old Bandia style.
He's so cool he doesn't even have to combine with anybody, but it's neat that he can.

Tfs are in a lull right now. CW really burned me out on mold reuse to the point where I see great deals here in canada on the boxsets and no matter how low, the extra space they would occupy is too much for me to spare on them. And while I love TR, the transformations are realy simple across the board. They lack that new edge which I only get from the odd RID release. And right now, we are in a lull anyways. The ton of new RID stuff will only be coming out next year in march or something (like Twinferno, Bludgeon and Soundwave) and I while I did find TR Megatron, I doubt I will find the rest of wave 3 until next month.

So instead I am having fun with Power Rangers which is new to me. I actually wanted the tigerzord a year ago. I wanted all these "MP" style PR releases all along. But they never came on sale and since they are almost all TRU exclusive, there is no price match option. So I waited until it was finally 20$ cheaper and got it.

My priority is still Transformers but since I am just getting into PR, there is a lot of back tracking to do while my back tracking with TFs is now over (aside from Battle Unicorn), so thats why you have seen more PR. There are only like 2 Megazord a year that come out so the accumulation of product will die down very quickly.

It is a different play pattern though. Transformers are fun on an individual scale. I can bring them with me in public transit and play the transforming puzzle. Power Rangers is more like building something. It takes it another level than Transformers. Like think of a CW toy. You take 5 components, turn them into limb modes and combine them. Well Power Rangers lets you build from that upwrads. So your big robot made up of different components can then combine into something bigger. And thats the part I find loads of fun. So you have that samurai megazord that you can then combine with a lobster to make a more giant samurai. Since there is that extra level, the transformations have to be super simple. So its a very different kind of toy. It really feels more like a building toy than a transforming toy.

And yes, that Tigerzord is just like an awesome high quality G1 toy.

Also, the quality on many Power Rangers toys is pefectly fine. The plastic feels fine all around. The only part that feels cheap is how sometimes features are removed from the Japanese versions. When its lights and sounds, I dont care. But when its their ability to transform into a particular form, that blows. But thats all comparing. The toys on their own are fine.

Good response WJ!! I wanted to see your take, and wasn't sure if it was one of those toy lines that you've always had in the background or something.

It does make sense that they are more "building toys" than transforming, they are super brick-like and seem ultra sturdy! The ability to continually add parts means they have to be stable and strong, and that is awesome.

Considering I skipped all of the limbs in Combiner Wars and only got one of each torso style, Titans Return hasn't burned me out yet  I have been less inclined to play with those guys lately, but maybe some of these upcoming DNA add-on parts for Fort Max and Metroplex will get me back in.

Aw memories. On a holiday to wales back when we were really young my sister and I each got a MotU figure. She got Grizzlor cos he had all that fur, and I got Roboto here cos I liked robots and his lil cogs inside were fun to look at.

Nice haul of all sorts of eras of things in that lot there you got. :D
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

As many of your know, I have had a lot of stuff since like Fort Max but most especially VOLTRON!!!!!

Here is how big he is if people want reference:

Image

Those are all my differently sized teams of giant robots.

Surprisingly, its that Power Ranger with the big green circle on his chest which had the highest MSRP ($200 USD!!!) with Voltron priced at about half of that. Really good value here and he stands well. Its too bad his head and waist dont rotate because the arms and legs give you decent poseability options that you simply cant use without having his head tilt a bit.

Also, I took some pics of a new jewel in my collection, the Power Rangers (90s) Movie Megazord. I love the look of the monkey component, look how nice the face is!

I'm glad you like Voltron. thanks for letting me play before I shipped. I agree he is a good and fun toy for the value. There are some things that could be better, but over all a pretty solid package.

Sorry about your castle. I picked these up because they were a fun find. I didnt grow up with MOTU since I was born in 88, but I can still appreciate the toys. But man, I am such a noob to these that I didnt even know they were supposed to come with clothes

Emerje figured it out above, at least what company it comes from. its a legit toy but not of anything licensed.

Also, RIP Chyna!

Thanks for thinking of me! Thrift shops really are my thing. I go there to experience toys I would normally not get otherwise, like movie toys and G1 toys, two types that I would not go out of my way to get on e-bay. I am proud of you for having given it a shot.
Please inform me though, I thought Goodwill was more like TJMaxx, where they get surplus of stuff. Like those Platinum sets that people found. Do they have both surplus and second hand items?
