It might help the support for his project if Echotransformer bothered to post his own pics and updates in this thread instead of people ferrying his comments/pics/updates from TFW. He hasn't posted once in this thread. Support runs both ways.

Totally agree! Just defending our site, like I said, and asking for us to support him too.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

I'd buy this.
I've read all the comments everyone made here and from what I can tell everyone seems to support this project. No one wants to sand and paint but that's not an issue now. So whats the problem? There's less posts here cause there's less people here (third party forum) simple as that.

Less news too. I don't want to say that I'm offended, 'cause I'm not; but I am bothered by the misperception and calling us out like this. Post news. Post update pics. Then the conversation will continue. As it is, we don't have any info on a pre-order and the thread has turned much less positive.
Additionally, while as a regular around here I appreciate the attempt to defend Seibertron on TFW, how about actually reading the posts here (as I did) and reply back over there with a defense of the reception here. This seems like an almost pointless page and a half of conversation instead of useful news/commentary about this set.

Maybe, but that is what a forum is for - to talk! And I did go back and read all of them. Just not at the first post I made.

Yeah I'm slightly bemused by all this. Do we need to make Echotransformer feel 'loved' in order for him to accept money from Seibertron forum users? Odd. I've never heard anything like that about any other 3rd party, be they cottage industry or larger. Here are a few reasons why this topic runs at a fraction of the same topic on TFW, none of which have to do with the quality and vision of his design
1) The site owner hates 3rd party products with a passion, and thinks anyone who indulges in them are akin to mass murderers. Therefore, there is no traffic whatsoever directed to the forums off the front page. The announcement that this was shifting away from Shapeways would have resulted in a front page news item less than 2 years ago. It goes without saying that news items generally generate more comments than those threads buried away in some forgotten corner of a website who no longer cares for 3rd party products (but will happily and seemingly without a hint of irony take money from sponsors who flog them)
2) For a large amount of people, the definitive version of Bruticus is ROTF Bruticus Maximus with the FansProject Colossus upgrade. Therefore, as nice as this item is, it is competing against an existing product which matches the G1 aesthetic closer than the FOC Bruticus set. Most adult collectors are trying to recreate G1 collections with modern articulation etc. If FOC Bruticus was the only option, and it was 2 years ago this topic would have been hundreds of pages.
3) Ryan argued that a tiny percentage of people on this website used the 3rd party forums, this seems to be a chicken and egg scenario because, as mentioned, less and less people seem to know that 3rd parties are discussed on these forums. I have no data about who may have left these forums and gone to more receptive sites such as TFW, but I would think that traffic to these areas has reduced since Ryan's policy shift.
4) There tends to be a lot of interest about a product when news about it surfaces, and then dies off. This trend repeats itself when updates are announced, and then again when the product is released and people get it in hand. In the absence of any actual news, commenting on a thread isn't very useful as people see the new post and anticipate seeing some new photos, price information, what retailers are carrying the product etc. So a lot of people here tend to wait for news updates.

I'm not sure if I don't like this addon set or if i can't get over how lousy FoC Bruticus is.
Maybe its the colors.
Maybe it's the remembering of the fact that my favorite and only TF site has an owner that has a hate so furious for Third Party sets that he so graciously allowed condemned the forum to a back alley corner with a flickering light and a rodent infestation with puddles of putrid water and piles of garbage that will never be collected.And-WHATwasthat?!wasthatagunshot?!Ithinkhe'sgotaknif~Pleasejusttakemywalletandgo
As Banjo-Tron mentioned, many collectors have a G1 driven feel in their collection and have ROTF Bruticus + FP XFire2 kit as the Analog for that team. not they are not perfect figures in Robot, Alt, or Gestalt modes but damn do they look good on a shelf. Until a 3P company steps up and makes a 5 figure team that completely captures G1 in each mode, this set will be my Bruticus. Hell, I've said it before, I'd settle for a FP recreation of Onslaught, Vortex, and Brawl.
I will admit, this set does improve the FoC Bruticus mold tremendously but by no means does it make it a good figure(at least in my eyes).
I mean FFS:

If I ever got this set, all i would be able to think about is that "It still has that F---ing Onslaught figure in it."
As for Echo, don't know the guy. Got nothing against him or his ambition to provide a product to the Transformers community. If he likes it better on TFW, I'm happy for him. If he is active on forums but doesn't feel the need to post about HIS product over here, then what does he expect. Honestly if he posted like Renderform/Venksta does this page and a half of posts regarding his level of comfort over here would never have happened. Not even sure why I'm even commenting on it, I don't even care.

Akin to mass murder? Really?
I'd get this if it came already painted, I'm horrible at such things myself. I'm also surprised that so many people own this mold with as much hate as it gets.

It depends on who you ask... There have been quite a number of updates to the design. What was shown before were from Shapeways. This set will be mass produced. You don't have to buy into it if you don't like it.

well I would hope that it doesn't deviate too much from Shapeways, seeing as the painted parts looked great. If it ain't broke and all that.

I've been following this over on TFW and I gotta say: the spoiler pic is pointless. Seriously, he's posted like 30 pics at every stage of development (though not on here apparently) so how big could the changes be? The only reason I can think of is that whatever company he's partnered up with is trying to be all secretive. The painted Shapeways set almost had me preordering the Brute/Grim set from BBTS.

I might get this if they do a set for the Takara version, metallic paint and all. It's the only one worth dropping the $ to deck out IMO (and I have them all).

Ok its time to cough out a release date and pre-order already...
Theres another company making a voyager class Onslaught with all the extra parts for combiner mode. This guy had the momentum first, so now he needs to either use it or lose it. The longer he takes, the more potential this project has to flop if voyager Onslaught comes out first.

It might be cool to have both. So many versions of Bruticus, but no guarantee the Voyager Onslaught will come out in G2, Takara, or Impactor versions. And the same can be said with this. Either company might screw us by just doing a Hasbro colored version. (I didn't buy Fruiticus and hope I wont have to)

In the end multiple versions just might save this. I love the G2 version myself, but part of that is seeing it in the box, so not in need of upgrades for that myself. I am very tempted by "Fruiticus" (Rated X wrote:Arctorro wrote:TBH I thought this was killed the moment the Voyager toy was announced.Rated X wrote:Ok its time to cough out a release date and pre-order already...

This set never did that to me, but if they did a pure black version I might get it for my Nexus Prime repaint.
Right now, we have some nice, clearance options.
BBTS has:
(1) "Fruiticus"

(2) Takara Bruticus for $120 (originally $175): http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
(3) Grimlock vs. Bruticus shared exclusive for $100: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
I'm not jumping on any of these sets until I see the final ECHO kit or the Voyager Onslaught, but there's a lot to like as these sets continue to be clearanced (hopefully for even lower prices!).
