I'm not jumping on any of these sets until I see the final ECHO kit or the Voyager Onslaught, but there's a lot to like as these sets continue to be clearanced (hopefully for even lower prices!).

I started keeping an eye on "Fruiticus" (damn you X ) yesterday after I started thinking about the Voyager. Even with shipping and the exchange rate it is the single best option for buying them. If stock ends up dropping to low (doubt it'll happen tho) I'll probably just bite the bullet and make em my Classics Combaticons and commit to the Voyager.

Only ever buy Takara if there is no other option or it is MP. Not a fan of the Grimlock set.

Yea... I only buy Takara sets when they're on sale (i.e. the WFC Optimus & Megatron I got on clearance from TFsource - totally worth it). And while I have no interest in that gaudy, awful looking Grimlock, the Combaticons' color scheme for the set is too close to the SDCC deco for me not to take note.

Maybe it's because I'm completely mental, but the only two sets I like are "Fruiticus" (dammit X, you really have me using that now ) and G2. Swindle and Brawl look nice in the other sets but Vortex and Blast-Off are a turn off for me. Great way to save money.

Btw, has there been any mention of an all black version of this set?

Well, half of me will keep hoping they do it and the other half will hope they don't so there is one less purchase

Updates:

I know Haslaught sucks but I feel that this Bruticus is proportioned better than having a Voyager version of Onslaught. Well it really depends on that 3P releasing actual combined shots.

Excited to see the color prototype of this and the Voyager side by side.

I agree. This set makes the combined mode look very close to the proportions in the game from what I recall.

edit: Hey daim, be sure to tell these guys to do a set for the Takara version !

So would anyone happen to know what group is mass producing the set? And a projected release date aside from it being October? I'd like to find the preorder pages for it, along with the transforming gun for Metroplex being made by X2 Toys, so I can go ahead and bookmark them for future references.

.... Now the chest is looking a bit too skinny? Lol I don't know why I'm being picky about this but I still think when it comes down to it, if the Voyslaught comes with hands and legs for Bruticus I'll probably just go with that.

I'm leaning towards that direction as well, mostly because the deluxe Onslaught is just so terrible, you almost want a new, big bad, gestalt leader-bot.

That said, still waiting for comparison pics.

The comparison shots I need include other 3P gestalts, not this set. Don't need a massive Bruticus, something close will do, so fingers crossed.

Same here. Would love a comparison shot with Herc. A scale between him and Feral Rex will suit my needs just fine.

I never bought a Fruiticus. How sure are you that Takara, G2, and Ruination versions will be made ?

I'm going to hold out for a G2 version, if one is ever made.

Yeesh, and here I was hoping to pick up the Platinum Bruticus and hold out for the set, hoping for twenty or thirty dollars.

Fifty though? Oi, I may just have to stick with the Fruticus set instead.
