I started keeping an eye on "Fruiticus" (damn you Xmegatronus wrote:Arctorro wrote:In the end multiple versions just might save this. I love the G2 version myself, but part of that is seeing it in the box, so not in need of upgrades for that myself. I am very tempted by "Fruiticus" () and the more I look at the Voyager the more tempted I am to get the limbs. This set never did that to me, but if they did a pure black version I might get it for my Nexus Prime repaint.
Right now, we have some nice, clearance options.
BBTS has:
(1) "Fruiticus"for $75 (originally $100): http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
(2) Takara Bruticus for $120 (originally $175): http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
(3) Grimlock vs. Bruticus shared exclusive for $100: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
I'm not jumping on any of these sets until I see the final ECHO kit or the Voyager Onslaught, but there's a lot to like as these sets continue to be clearanced (hopefully for even lower prices!).

Maybe it's because I'm completely mental, but the only two sets I like are "Fruiticus" (dammit X, you really have me using that nowmegatronus wrote:Arctorro wrote:Only ever buy Takara if there is no other option or it is MP. Not a fan of the Grimlock set.
Yea... I only buy Takara sets when they're on sale (i.e. the WFC Optimus & Megatron I got on clearance from TFsource - totally worth it). And while I have no interest in that gaudy, awful looking Grimlock, the Combaticons' color scheme for the set is too close to the SDCC deco for me not to take note.
Sigh.

Wonder if anyone noticed how I tried to stay on topic <.< >.>

Well, half of me will keep hoping they do it and the other half will hope they don't so there is one less purchasemegatronus wrote:Arctorro wrote:Btw, has there been any mention of an all black version of this set?

Way to bring it back!
I haven't heard anything on a black set.
I leave this to the 3rd Party master-picture-poster-finder, daimchoc, to answer.

Blurrz wrote:I know Haslaught sucks but I feel that this Bruticus is proportioned better than having a Voyager version of Onslaught. Well it really depends on that 3P releasing actual combined shots.
daimchoc wrote:They are going to do that version as well.

I'm also leaning in the Voyagers direction, but, having gone with TFC's gestalt scale that might be too small as wellmegatronus wrote:Blurrz wrote:.... Now the chest is looking a bit too skinny? I'm leaning towards that direction as well, mostly because the deluxe Onslaught is just so terrible, you almost want a new, big bad, gestalt leader-bot.
That said, still waiting for comparison pics.

The comparison shots I need include other 3P gestalts, not this set. Don't need a massive Bruticus, something close will do, so fingers crossed.
