Preorder up at BBTS for $42.99 as of this writing.

Looks like a March 10 release date. The price is a bit stiff, but I am considering it.

The price is fairly steep, but I have seen multiple listings on eBay for the base rifle going for more that so this is okay, I guess. I think I am going to display it in city mode as the tank sitting up as a building, making three towers. I don't think I will ever use the gun emplacement mode, since it Metroplex really doesn't need another one of those. I will be calling it Slammer.

As I have the Takara Metroplex, I have no need for a third gun, so I think I'm going to wait for a closer Slammer analog.

Yeah, this is pretty useless to someone with two rifles. Still, nice enough for those of use with only one. The owners of the CostCo Metroplex will have paid less than $100 for a dual wielder.

It wasn't just the second gun, it was all the other differences that typically seperate a Takara version from a Hasbro version. In this case, I thought (and still do) that the difference is worth it.

This was my thought as well. I actually find the chrome very tacky and detracting from the figure. I will panel line my Hasbroplex at some point to provide better contrast, but I don't need chrome for that. I might get the reprolabels set to replace the less than stellar base set. I like this rifle in that it provides some variety compared to two identical rifles. I wonder if this one will fit on the carrier's side like the stock rifle does for a more G1 look.

$42.99 is too rich for my blood. I just don't think,i'm getting my full moneys worth here. the price seems insane considering it's just a weapon & I only paid $100 for the retail Hasbro Metroplex.

If this transformed into a robot mode,I might have been interested in it. Since I love the Targetmasters concept.

I think the main reason the SDCC Metroplex was so inanely high priced.
Had a lot to do with the 12 mini decoys the toy came with. I don't think,The 2nd red gun,the chrome face & thighs bumped up the price that much.

The retail version should of had the Chrome face & thighs. I would have gladly paid a extra $5 for the chrome.

I bought 2 Hasbro Metroplexes from CostCo, and while the second gun is nice, I didn't pay 79.99 just for the extra gun. I wanted another Metroplex I could keep in carrier mode. I also have the Takara Metroplex, which I got from TFsource as part of their Black Friday deal with free shipping, and used some source points to get a nice freebie to boot. It was an impulse buy, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with 3 Metroplexes... but the plastic quality and paint apps on Takara's are nicer, and it doesn't require a Reprolabels set to make him look awesome. I'll reduce the count to 1 or 2 eventually. So.

That's all to say that I find this gun to be completely unnecessary.

Well, it can be useful for one who wants the Takara 2 red gun look, but would rather the second gun did more than just sit there looking like a battle cruiser.

I've got to admit some of the results are pretty cool though.

I hate to admit it but I think I'm still on board for this piece. I was hoping it'd come in red so that I definitely wouldn't want it, but offering it in two colours I think shows they at least are open to people wanting it for different reasons.

My only question now is which version do I currently have on pre-order?
