For those who are some reason interested in this toy, just thought I'd mention TF Source has a pre-order up for the white version. Strangely, it seems to be $5.00 more then the red version. (Perhaps that is an error that will be corrected? We'll see, I suppose.)

Nothing yet on BBTS, but I'm sure that will come soon. I suppose seeing if they charge more for it too will help shed light on if this pricing is an error or correct.

BBTS has the white one now, too... And for even more! They're listing it at $54.99, compared to the red version for $42.99.

I was going to ask if it was because of the weird cassette augmenting kit, but it looks like that is present for both red and white. Maybe the white plastic costs more? I will definitely be curious to see where this goes...

Not sure how quickly (or even if) they will respond, but I just sent TF Source a message asking if they might be able to shed some light on the reason for the price difference between two items that look to be the same except for colour. It is evening now, of course, so I don't expect they'll even see my inquiry until the morning... But if and when I get a reply, I shall pass along the response. (Even for an item I have zero interest in buying either version of, myself, I have to admit curiosity over the pricing...)

I believe the white gun is a limited edition, so that might've been reason enough (in their minds) to bump up the price.

I could just about buy that reasoning for the $5.00 price difference at TF Source. The $12.00 price difference at BBTS still would seem ridiculous. :roll:

No arguing with that. Maybe BBTS will drop the price at some point.

So, looks like speculation was correct as for the reasoning, but it is nice to have some sort of confirmation. (And the $12.00 more from BBTS still seems ridiculous, even knowing this.) So I suppose, if you fancy the white version, don't dawdle.

I received my copy today in the mail. Overall, the build quality and plastic quality are quite good. I really have no intention of taking it out of its rifle mode, so the hinges are kind of useless to me. However, they do a fairly good job of snapping it into place when you put it into tank mode. I have considered putting it into tank mode when I attach it to Metroplex's shoulder part that swings behind the back during transformation, if only to make the city look a little more varied.

As for the rifle mode, other than the molded tank treads, it looks almost exactly the same as the stock rifle, which was my goal. The color matching is pretty well exact. It attaches in all three modes well, including along the roads of his carrier mode.

So, overall I would rate it an 8/10, subtracting because of the tank treads being visible and because it isn't an exact copy of the stock rifle. Still, it fits in all modes well, and does look quite nice.
