It was Cybertron Ransack. I remember being initially disappointed that it was a Decepticon. That's right, I was such an idiot as a kid that I didn't even look at the box long enough to realize I was getting a "bad guy".

Now I've seen the light. :CON: :CON: :CON:

Cyberton Ransack is superawesome.

Weapon: Sub-Machine Gun
First TF: Movie 1 legends Blackout.

Bought after coming out of the first movie.

First TF contact:
A local kids channel was re-running G1 the month or so before the TF movie debut. I believe the episode was "Fire in the Sky".

Yeah, Bayverse was largely my first impression of TF.

Born in 85, I'm going to say my first transformer was a KO G1 Optimus Prime if they had KOs back than.... I remember always playing with it but I don't have actual memories of it... I was around 3 or 4 at the time... I'm not sure if my memories are real or if I made them up some how...(I had this memory way before I started collecting toys in 2010) Anyway If not than my first transformer was beast wars Rhinox.

I saw a few G1 episodes back when they were airing reruns in the early 90s? I remember an episode with Dinobots and one with Superion. They just kept changing the times it aired and than they stopped showing it completely. I probably watched less then 4 episodes...

Beast Wars was what I watched and got me to buy some toys. (I never actually connected the dots and thought Beast Wars was Transformers) The First Beast wars Episode i saw was when Starscream took over Waspinator's body and for the longest time I thought Waspinator's name was Starscream and had no idea why they didn't call him that anymore.

It wasn't until i started collecting toys because of a Masterpiece Skywarp I stumble upon on ebay that I went back and watch all of G1 and Beast wars. (when I first watched the 84 movie I hated it... It made no sense and was boring as hell and I had no idea who alot of the bots were) I grew to love it after watching it over and over again.

And that's it.

I only realized way later what it is exactly that I had but my first Tf (and thus my first exposure to it) was when I was 5. I asked for a robot for christmas and my parents got me G2 Dreadwing with Smokescreen. Looking back, that is an amazing way to get into this hobby I now hold dear. If ever I find a picture, I will post it here.
I was a bit upset at first because transforming was involved and because he was not a real robot that moved around and did stuff for me. But the playability on that toy is amazing, with all those missiles and the fact that he is a triple changer and can combine with the smaller robot. I would make all these different modes for him (like Insect Lord mode by extending his feet like skies and making the bomber fron be his robot head). He was my only TF for many many years before Beast Wars came around. I remember him being difficult but feasable for my 5 year old self.

Beast Wars was the first TF show I watched. I only learnt that Optimus Prime and not Optimus Primal was the main bot of the transformer franchise when I was 16-17 simply because Beast Wars was the main show when I watched cartoons and got toys for christmas.

This was my initial reaction, especially once they get to the junkion planet.

Ha! That's interesting that you guys hated it. My brother won 2 tickets from a radio station to go see it. We were of course familiar with the characters, and we loved it. We were shocked at the death of Prime! We both complained for a long time wishing the TV show looked as good as the movie. It was the best TF animation yet. Might be my fav still?
Oddly enough the theater we saw it in housed an antique toy collection. I wonder if that had some subliminal effect on me. We also walked out, went straight to the record store and bought the sound track.

Years later, in a theater, watching Boogie Nights, I was the guy who stood up and yelled, "HEY, that's the song from The Transformers"!

Man.I'm old. :-(

I was born in '97, but my parents showed me the 1986 movie when I was really little and Transformers have stuck with me ever since. My first Transformer was G1 Ironhide and Onslaught. Sadly they cannot be with us here today due to being 3 when I had them... They will not be forgotten. Except, when I got new ones. My first non-hand-me-down Transformer, I can't remember, but I want to say it was a KO G1 Aerialbots set. Which is also no longer with us, but it wasn't very good quality to begin with, but I loved them anyway.

My first contact with Transformers was with the aborted Diakron line Takara tried to bring over to America themselves before they aligned with Hasbro (and Marvel) to come up with the entire Transformers mythos.

At first I had a red "sunstreaker" but there was a problem with the toy (which turned out to be a design flaw that also affected both of the actual Transformers Sunstreakers I wound up with later) so I took it back and got blue "trailbreaker".

My first actual Transformer was G1 Megatron, my mom got it for me in early summer of 84 as a reward for a good report card. It was literally the only Transformer TRU had at the time, though I had seen commercials on TV and I think I already had issue 1 of the comic.

First autobot was Brawn. I don't have much of a story for that one, though. Just a cheap toy I got for no particular reason.

As far as G1 posability goes, G1 Optimus Prime is not too shabby either:

Others with pretty good poseability (for G1 anyway) were Jetfire and Galvatron. Soundwave would be up there if his knees didn't bend the wrong way. Actually, you know what, he's still up there!

I got G1 Hound for Christmas. That was my first contact with TFs and it changed my life. Somehow I'd not seen any adverts for them anywhere.
