What are all of your thoughts on movie Jetfire? Him being my favorite TF, at first I thought they mutilated him, but the more and more I see of him he really grows on me.

We still have hardly seen what he looks like. I like what I've heard/seen so far I suppose, but there's more coming.

to my knowledge we've only seen some sketches and the legends toy... so i don't think we know what he will look like really. I remember seeing the starscream toys for the first movie thinking that he would look retarded but in the movie he looked awesome. There hasn't been a design that i haven't like yet so i think they will make him look really cool. I mean he's a huge freaking jet that turns into a robot. what scares me is the rumor that he is like an acient robot with arthritis and stuff...that would be gayer than gay... i bet the fallen doesn't have arthritis

Now, once we eventually see his Leader Class toy, that will help a lot more than the FAB. Where were the sketches you mentioned? I would like to see those (I'm assuming you don't mean fan-based).

Sadly, I'm guessing that Jetfire might in fact be this geriatric robot that Michael Bay was referring to back in the summer of '08.

I recently took a trip to Pennsylvania that included a trip to both branches of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum (The original in DC and the expansion at Dulles International Airport.)

I got these pictures of the actual Blackbird that Jetfire's altmode will be scanned from at the Smithsonian Institute National Air & Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Sorry about the quality, it was a surprise trip and all I had was may camera phone.

Every photo I took I was thinking to myself "I am not just taking a picture of an SR-71 Blackbird, I am taking a picture of the actual Jetfire!"

Well, all i know for sure is that he's got one sweet alt mode. I hope the toy doesn't have too much kibble.
I also get the feeling that movie Jetfire is going to be the type of old vet who looks harmless, but will beat you down with his cane if you 'step up to him'. I'm thinking Eastwood in Gran Torino.

It's an SR-71, my second all time favorite aircraft second to the A-10. I just hope they don't f@#k it up ... but from the information about him being a Geriatric autobot and his top heavy, Starscream looking robot mode, I fear they may have already done so

Yeah you can't really judge Jetfire by his toy. It gives you a general idea, but the movie toys suck. I really wish I didn't buy nearly all of them! But I too saw the Starscream toy and I thought he was hidious but when the movie came out he looked awesome in it!

FAB toys don't do justice for the robot modes of a lot movie characters, in my humble opinion.

I'm more interesting in what the Leader Class toy looks like.

I'm kinda hoping the Leader Class Jetfire does NOT combine with the new RotF Leader Class Prime... cause then I'll want both and I already bought the first movie's Leader Class Optimus Prime.

I love his alt mode, but don't like the robot mode much, at least the lower half of him. I'll probably get him eventually though when he comes out.

Considering how 'thin' the SR-71 is, his transformation should be interesting, stuff moving all over the place ... probably totally unrecognizable in robot mode

I use to think that too, but after seeing the toys pics of them and the trailer, I'm thinking no.

Could they both be some of the oldest TFs and possibly knew each other very well back in the day... sure, possibly. But I doubt they're the same guy.

Yeah also considering the sheer length as his alt mode is almost twice the length of starscreams (62 feet alt mode, 31 feet tall robot mode). Its 107 feet long. Im guessing he ll stand about 50 - 60 feet or so tall in robot mode in he scales about the same as screamer proportions did. (which kind of fitting considering their G1 history heh.)

I keep hoping theres no jetfire/optimus merger, but shall see. I cant imagine it not looking stupid, especially considering the colors wouldnt mesh well if we go off how armada did it in my head. But if it works it works. Id rather they came up with a better way take down the cons heavy hitter than that.

thanks for the pics. no matter what, i am looking forward to Jetfire being part of the movie, even if he is an old fart.

I have a feeling that it will be cool any way we look at it. I do hope that he DOES NOT combine with OP, but we will see what happens i guess.

I like what i've seen of jetfire so far, crotchy old bot or not heh. I laughed as he says my Aft, instead of arse or ass being a jet alt mode, its very fitting replacement.

I really hope we will be pleasantly surprised and find out that Jetfire, being so old, still has one good fight left in him. But really, they should have made him a not-old complete badass. I would have been much happier. After Grimlock and Hot Rod/Rodimus, he's my favorite character in the TF Universe.
