Requisitioned to replace Gearbox, Loadmaster fulfills the role of Gunship,bombarding Decepticons from above with Vulcans, Bofors, and cannon fire. Rage Rig and Smasher Devouerer have made Loadmaster's acquaintance on a few occasions, usually when they had called for gunship support. As such he is also able to translate for Smasher Devouerer, albeit not as well as Rage Rig.
Knee Breaker approached Loadmaster to join his 'business.' Loadmaster declined the offer on the count that he doesn't like being in another's pocket, particularly the mafia.
Given his role as a gunship, Loadmaster is paired up with three powermasters. They are the aptly named Crew Chief, Topheavy, and Lockstrap. The three of them man Loadmaster's internal weapons bays during fire support missions and also oversee onload and offload procedures when ferrying cargo.
