I just knew something like this would happen back when we were first shown the cover of the issue.

Love the Megatron cover!
I'm also starting to think that Powell is the best TF human villain ever. Even Dr. Arkeville showed more of a conscious than he does!

I read the other IDW transformers comics but I haven't picked up Animated yet.
How does it compare to the stories in the show? Is it more adult, less adult, or equivalent to the show. How well does it translate to comic form? How's the art?
I hope someone who's been reading it fill me in.

Animated is a comic that varies greatly from issue to issue.
#1 was a fantastic read, very solid, very humorous on mulitple levels. #2 was a tad more kiddish in terms of story and humour, then #3 was a 50/50 the first story was decent, not much in it, but the second story with the debut of Oilslick was fantastic, on par with Spotlight Kup in terms of excellent writing.
Art is fantastic, Brizuela does a great job on capturing the animated spirit, which is great, seeing as Isenberg writes both the show and comics.

Sounds promising, and I'd especially like to see the introduction of Oilslick since we may not get that in the show. Might just have to pick up the TPB when it comes out.
