And apparently, this collector has taken it even further than many of us ever imagined possible. He was able to procure himself two previously un-released packages of minicons.
As you can clearly see in the photos, these were ready to be produced, but then trashed at the last minute making only a small handful available (--yes, it's that old story again--).
Black Gears.com was able to get these super rare samples, making many of us envious, and has now taken in package pictures to share with the community at large.

Enjoy knowing that this is yet another very rare collectible that many of us will never, ever own (and many won't care to either...)!

You aren't alone.
Recently I've been chasing after X-Dimension minicons.
They shouldn't make me as happy as they do...

Yeah, I just got the set of 3 movie toy store exclusives...
The repaints of the classics minicons hawk, jet, and helicopter.
The bad thing about minicons is I can never remember all of the names.
I too am looking for X-Dimension sets. Mainly the Emergency Team repaints right now. I'm working on a collection of the Checkpoint figure, or Prowl depending what set, I believe... he's the police indy car that turns into a nice gun, but a pretty pitiful robot.

I know, I'm as bad as Wayward's Starscream.
I have a drawer full of Minicons.

No they weren't. At first glance, I thought the same, but it's only the fact that Sky Blast is black. The Magnus released one was black with grey robot parts, not red like that. The Magnus Astroscope is a darker grey than this Unicron version, and Payload is the same dark grey as Astroscope.

You can never have enough adventure.
Go TEAM VENTURE!!!

True dat.
On the whole, I think one repaint of anything's plenty, unless you plan on making a slew of connected characters (like the Seekers, for instance). Releasing loads of versions of the same characters with new colours is just extracting the urine.

Are you sure it's not the set from Energon Ultra Magnus, which a couple of the other guys were talking about?
