Back of T-Wrecks Box Shows Different Headsculpt from Actual Toy

Posted by william-james88 May 24, 2021 at 3:10pm CDT 40,939 views
Something screwy is going on and there may have been a mistake. Months ago, someone found a Kingdom Beast Wars Megatron toy with a different headsculpt from all the other ones. This one had teeth showing, similar to the original toy's headsculpt. We thought maybe we would see this headsculpt used for T-Wrecks. Well, T-Wrecks has been found now and the headsculpt used is not that one, it's just the same closed mouth one as the Megatron figure. And the mouth is painted silver, making it looks like he has silver lipstick. However, the back of the box shows the other headsculpt, showing his teeth, painted silver.

All signs show that there was a snafu somewhere and the batch of T-Wrecks toys found so far don't have the head originally planned for this actual toy. This toy has yet to be officially revealed by Hasbro and we'll see which headsculpt we get once it lands in Target.

Taken completely with a grain of salt however...One of the early Video Youtube reviewers who got T-Wrecks (consider the source) stated there may have been QC issues with the angry "toothed" face causing a last minute change. Which is even more puzzling considering, as you showed above, some people found a Megatron with that different head sculpt.

What's even more sad is I am almost positive, the 2nd time I saw BW Megatron at Target, it was one of those rare variants. Of course I had no idea at the time, so I didn't get it  .

Fellow Sebertronian aronjlove found Transformers Kingdom Rhinox at a Target in Arizona. This is the only new voyager in the line's third wave. Cases come with 3 toys per box where two are Rinox and the other is Cyclonus. This is the first sign of Wave 3 we have seen in the US.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

It would be cool, but hard to imagine happening, but it would be cool if dinomus was the pre-tool of a re-tooled thrustor from dinobot, it seems like the dinobot figure could be the next seeker, based on how many times the original mold was used and re-used

Meanwhile, my Target just restocked Wave 1 Voyagers.... AGAIN...
and no sign of any Wave 2 has ever come in, except Core Class.

Which Megatron is that? The variant or the regular?

Well speaking of Target restocks, checked my local one Sunday evening and they FINALLY had Beast mode Megs! (And Kingdom UM, but I'm v happy with the Siege one) Can not begin to describe to y'all how long have been hunting for Megs  And the figure hasn't disappointed me yet, the Dino mode is absolute dynamite, even with the panel lines, the sleekness and cohesiveness of it is amazing. Only gripe is I wish the 5mm port in the trex head/hand could be pivoted away from the roof of the mouth, but that's a very targeted nitpick

His guns are a little thin, and he does have a funky backpack, that has two ports for weapon storage on each side, but goodness, is he fun to pose. I tried transforming him and got stuck on the legs, not entirely understanding how the foot folds into the rhino's thigh. But I'll figure it out. These two pics were taken because someone on Twitter asked how he scales with Primal. You can see the port in the last pic.

I can rightfully say that Kingdom Cyclonus is more complex than Jetfire. Pretty certain Rodinus will be as well.

A variant that so far was only ever found once.

Yup. Even T-30 Generations Jetfire is more complex than Siege Commander Jetfire. Plus I think people tend to forget that Siege Jetfire come with the equivalent of a deluxe toy of armor pieces, guns, and blast effects.

Great find! Hey, is it possible to bend the rhinoceros jaw backwards 180 degrees? So that it ends up hidden behind the torso?

This is as far back and down as it will go because of the rhino back. It is on a hinge that will go in but not out.

I'd say that is pushing it. The main reason I sold off my T30 Jetfire (and CW Seekers) is because that mold is pretty boring to transform. Not that Siege Jetfire blows T30 away, but it is definitely more complex. Simply look at the arms and legs.

For T30 the only real transformation to any of the limbs it tucking the feet inside the back of the leg before you tuck all 4 limbs under the jet without doing much else to them. Siege makes you collapse the legs and sort of collapse the arms each requiring many more parts than for T30. Torso portion is about equal between the two but Siege has the various bonus features like the opening cockpit that is TR compatible and the 5mm pegs on the underside that you can retract.

You can say T30 gives you more for your money, for sure especially comparing leader prices back then to commander prices now, but no way is T30 more complex.

I feel like they screwed up with Megatron and T-Wrecks. Megatron should have the teeth grinning face. I'm indifferent on T-Wrecks. It bothers me more knowing that the correct face for Megatron exists and yet was planned to be used on T-Wrecks. Doing the silver teeth paint app on the wrong head that they were going to use just adds salt to the wound. Kind of a bummer. Hopefully a future recolor of Kingdom Megatron will have the proper head variant with the correct silver teeth. While I'd like to get a correct version of T-Wrecks (either with the mouth closed and no paint or the grinning teeth with paint), I'm indifferent because the character has little to no fictional background outside of a few BotCon comics that I'm sure the majority aren't familiar with.

Who is next to Buzzclaw, in front of Waspinator? Head sorta looks like Razor Claw or Seaclamp.
