He honestly does look really good. I dig this guy a lot. Can't emphasize enough that I will buy him from someone who does not want him.

I'm working on kit bashing together a Tigertrack and Diaclone Red Sunstreaker from my Universe 2.0 Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. I upgraded those two a while back to their Henkei versions on my "Classics" shelves and thought I should do something interesting with the leftover Universe versions I had on hand.

Of course, they could also combine the two. Make Shattered Glass characters whose color schemes are the Diaclone color schemes. The blue Bluestreak, the red Hoist, the white Sunstreaker...

i really like the design and idea of having pretender again. the only issue i had with the old ones is tha they were bricks.
While Oilmaster`s shell does not have articulation like standard figures these days, i do notice his head turns in the pictures. So we get atleast a upgrade in articulation

What I wanna know is who chose the name "Oilmaster" for a freakin ape ? It should have been "Knuckles" or "Stinkbreath" or "Smashface"....

As I said before, his debut in Badlands gave him the name "Oilmaster", after a Japanese blogger by the name of "Abura Choujin", which roughly translates to Oil Master. I should note he's a noted gorilla enthusiast, so he joins our Monzo in the Hall of Shout-Outs
To all three: the Shell, and the Swerve and Flanker redecos. Again, his conscience is split between the three bodies according to the bio.
I'm surprised nobody is commenting on his weapons, as they're redecoed from two Construct-Bot weapons: Optimus Prime's short sword, and Megatron's rifle.

Wow this pretender shell is absolutely hideous. I mean I get how articulated he is compared to the old school pretender shells and even then a lot of them weren't exactly "pretty" but this guy is just nasty.
The inner robots look pretty cool but for the price point people are gonna want for this thing.....I'll definitely pass.

This figure made me realize, in a contemporary setting, I hate the look of pretenders. I find the concept fine, the executionis awful by modern standards, and I don't care if it's intended. In a contemporary setting I find the concept works where the robot and shell aesthetic is combined like skullgrin, thunderwing, black shadow, and bludgeon, or alternatively something more custom like primo's work.

I have an awesome idea for how to revamp the pretender concept, but it's still in development. I actually want to pitch it to Hasbro when I'm done with perfecting it.
