Part of the same universe as the series set in Griffin Rock and for all we know so far a direct sequel with a younger target audience, Rescue Bots Academy sees the new characters of Hot Shot, Whirl, Medix, Hoist, and Wedge follow predecessors Heatwave, Chase, and Boulder in learning how to respond to emergency situations and become heroes at the Training Academy of the title. Check it out below!
A group of young Bots fresh from Cybertron (Hot Shot, Whirl, Medix, Hoist and Wedge), have the honor of being the first-ever class to enroll in Earth’s Rescue Bot Training Academy and learn how to become Earth heroes through hands-on experience.

Hot Shot and Whirl sound fine, it's a show for younger kids so I'm not going to expect this to be something for me.

I think it would be far better that way. Yes it would be better with the new catch frase;

Got hit hmwith a baseball bat before ot was rendered in Flash Cell whatever... Its eh.
Not fond that that changed Heatwave's head to a grizzled old drill seargent, but oh well.
Kinda sad Medix didnt keep her ambulance alt mode given that Hoist is a straight up copy of his. Not thT it matters since I am not buying these, but.
Can I just say though I am ecstatic at the RID Revival? We are getting Shadow Striker in Cyberverse, now Wedge is an orange bobcat in Rescue Bots. Can I get a new Side Burn somewhere please?

Of course NOT why would hasbro give us a whole (nonG1) set?
I like the style of them (exept Prime) and would love to see them do the whole Rescue Bots team in Generations

Yeah, none of the voice cast from the previous series were carried over into this one, as it's being recorded in New York (first TF cartoon to ever be recorded there, even) instead of Los Angeles.Galactic Prime wrote:That doesn't sound like Peter Cullen
It's more based on the new evergreen design that's being widely used now, in IDW, in Aesthetics, in Cyberverse, etc.Flashwave wrote:So.... Yeah. That looks like the Beast Hunter Optimus Prime design...
Isn't Medix male?Flashwave wrote:Kinda sad Medix didnt keep her ambulance alt mode
While Shadow Striker was retooled from a RiD mold, she was a G1 character (a friend of Trailbreaker, Sunstreaker, and Sideswipe, no less), released in the first Universe line as an OTFCC 2003 exclusive.Flashwave wrote:Can I just say though I am ecstatic at the RID Revival? Cullen talks about the studio in general and the recent acquisition by Hasbro and nothing specific about the shows, but if you're curious, you can look at the relevant passages below!
Boulder went from producing three projects at most to six IPs including season two of Danger Mouse and Hasbro’s Micronauts, The Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls and Rescue Bots Academy, all in Toon Boom Harmony. The studio is also storyboarding the latest Transformers series and its first CG animated feature film in Storyboard Pro.
With so many new productions, Boulder suddenly needed storyboard artists, concept designers and animators. The challenge became to scale up and find top talent without losing its quality and personality.
“We’ve always been quite selective about who we hire and it’s not just the talent I’m looking at; I want to know if they’re nice people and if they will fit in,” says Cullen.
Its team now includes people from around Ireland and the world, though growing from 160 to 360 seats in just over a year comes with certain concerns as well. Namely, keeping the boutique studio corporate culture it had established.
“Each project has a team with their own director and production manager — every piece feels like it’s a boutique production that people can take pride in,” says Cullen. “It doesn’t feel like we’re this vast company making random shows and we have to make sure it stays that way.”

Also, through a report over at TFW2005, it's been revealed that the show will feature 104 episodes, though the episodes themselves will be 11 minutes each.
TFW2005 wrote:Their official website also mentions the planned episode count for the show. Equaling its predecessor; Transformers: Rescue Bots, Academy will also feature 104 episodes but at 11-minute runtime each (as opposed to the original’s 22-minute format).” Writers on a new (11min x 104) action adventure animated series for the International market. This series is the latest addition to the hugely successful Transformers universe. “

But I feel ya, Jon. After years and years of LA and Vancouver being the places for actors to record Transformers shows, for them to suddenly switch it all up and over to New York (a talent pool that's never done Transformers before) for both RBA and Cyberverse is disheartening indeed.

Yep. Couldn’t agree more.

"Recruits Part I"
"Recruits Part II"
"If at First..."
"Tough Luck Chuck"
"Whirl'd View"
"Plan Bee"
"The Bot Who Cried Rescue"
"Mount Botmore"
"Mission Inaudible"
"Glitch"
"Five Into Four"
"Rescue Promo"
"Blame Game"
"Surprise, Medix!"
The show truly does feel like a legitimate sequel to the first show, with lots of continuity ties and references, and despite the all new voice cast, the acting is worlds better than in Cyberverse.
Though, I would also recommend switching "If at First..." and "Tough Luck Chuck" around, as the latter feels like it fits better as Episode 3 than as Episode 4.

"The TX3000"
"Little Bot Peep"
"Driving a Wedge"
"The Big, Small Rescue"

It is sad because the original RB is *kind of* how my son was introduced into Transformers. It came out when he was 6, and was perfect for him, although he had seen other series thanks to me.
It is unfortunate however, as since these shows cater to such a young audience, the window for their appeal is very short. I'll agree they are well written, and teach good lessons However.... as was painfully obvious last night, my son, now 13 had zero interest in this, which is completely understandable.
I mean with the Original Series, BW, and Prime, you cant still watch those as an adult and be entertained. Not so much, especially with Academy that I'd argue skews even younger than the original RB.
So basically, I told my son this show is for his friends who have younger siblings. It is their turn to get their own show. If you have any kids ages 3-7, or know anybody who dies, let them know this is on Netflix now, and let them enjoy.

Now however, since the landscape of media has changed, we have some 5 minute episodes, and several series with 11 minute episodes. It becomes more difficult to keep track. If we were to solely count episodes, the franchise would probably be approaching 970. But using my system (counting basically for 21 minutes of content=1 episode). I have determined that the RB Academy Episodes "Hack Attack" & "Life of the Party" which recently aired to be the *900th* Episode of Transformers overall.
In either case. If you count each individually, or pair them up for content time, its a pretty impressive feat. Will there be any acknowledgement by Hasbro, TT or the Fandom as the franchise approaches it's 1000th overall episode? Only time will tell.

Who knows. When the first Rescue Bots series had its 100th episode, somebody goofed and ended up airing the 102nd episode as the 100th, leaving the ones that were intended to be numbers 100 and 101 to instead air as 101 and 102, completely throwing off the celebratory feel that the true 100th episode had.o.supreme wrote:In either case. Though, when the episodes were released contemporaneously through iTunes, this goof did not occur as the intended 100th episode did see release in its intended order, much to the confusion of everyone at the time who had no idea about the mix-up with Discovery Family and instead thought that iTunes goofed up at the time.

(And why does RBA get so many more episodes than Cyberverse does? Cyberverse could use the extra screen time.)

The Season 2 trailer is 90 seconds long, and gives us a look at the upcoming Rescue bots series, which centers around a group of young new recruits. Following the fact that this is Season 2, the season will focus in on the 2nd year of the recruits training, where each recruit is paired up with a Mentor, which includes the likes of Heatwave, Bumblebee, and Grimlock! We also see that Hot Shot has a lot going on, and it looks like he is set to be a stand out in season 2.
Sadly, there is no sign of Ratchet and Perceptor yet, who are both supposed to be in this new season.
Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

This isn't just the end of the show though, but, unless Hasbro announce a continuation of sorts, this is the end of the Aligned Universe. Aligned started with the shows Transformers Prime and the original Rescue Bots, with the Activisions two Cybertron games also falling into this universes story line. Robots in Disguise 2015 carried the Prime storyline on until its own cancellation, leaving Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy to fly the flag for Aligned.
This is the original tweet by Pete Slattery.
Pete Slattery wrote:Today, I finish the first show I've directed. Three years, 104 episodes, an experience I won't forget. This was our team at the height of our power. An incredibly talented & enthusiastic bunch of artists. I'll miss them! #rescuebotsacademy #Transformers https://t.co/Fh7fnzGZFn
The series still has some episodes left to air before its end.

Option #3: Several children looked it up on youtube, stumbled across the Police Academy cartoon by mistake, and were traumatized so badly that Hasbro decided to rebrand.Sabrblade wrote:Season 2 completed it's production and has had all of its episodes fully aired over in the UK, so it most likely ran its course.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Did it run its course or is this because of current events?

Yucky? How can you think that the rest of the little bots are yucky looking? I think that all the characters were cute. Expect for the adults. I find them creepy.
And I’m sad that I never got to see Medix as an ambulance.
