As with previous releases, every combiner limb for the Combaticon / Bruticus wave comes with a full bio with their comic book. Below you will find the comic book covers as well as the bios. These are only available with the US release of these toys since the international releases have cards instead.

I like the in-universe-explanation-and-is-therefore-canon schtick of Blast Off's bio. Just makes it feel like all is balanced and as it should be in the cosmos...

On an unrelated note: I suddenly want to see Vortex in his Fall of Cybertron colors in all his modes and his combined mode, just to see what it looks like.

The Blast off bio just straight pisses me off. It's like Hasbro giving us a virtual middle finger.

My thoughts on Blast Off: I would have been fine with his bio and everything if he just had his actual head. Combiner Wars is so close to exactly what I wanted, but Blast Off is just lazy unfortunately, which is a bummer because he's the weakest link of this group.

On that note, had they just made Blast Off been a new guy named Air Stryker or something like that, I would have been fine with that. Then Cyclonus could have taken four of these new guys to make Galvatronus (Rook, Alpha Bravo, Offroad, and Air Stryke). Hasbro could've followed suit with Slingshot and Wildrider by releasing proper versions of Groove and Blast Off. Considering the popularity of the former, I'm really surprised they didn't do this with the latter.

All slings**t really needs to pass off as blast off is a damn face plate. The hasbro guy who decided not to use the fireflight head was a complete moron. Hopefully somebody will do a proper blast off head until Takara blesses us with a proper space shuttle. And that blast off bio is a disgrace.

Combiner Wars has been really odd with how it almost gets the homages right. PCCs and Energon and the like just did whatever they wanted, but CW is very specifically going for G1, seemingly for our sakes... but then they go and mess up the lineups for whatever nonsensical reason. The very *idea* of Alpha Bravo and Jet-Blast Off have gotten as much, if not more, hate than genuinely awful molds like Airachnid. Then they spin around and give all those bots that were never part of a combiner new heads and parts and even new molds, which just makes things even more perplexing.

On an unrelated note, looks like the artist accidentally moved a layer intended for Vortex's thighs onto his knees. :lol:

I don't wanna come off as predictable, but it was a deeply cutting insult to us, especially with as many repaints as they could/are making out of it [-(

I wonder what would happen if you switched Vortex and Blast Off's heads. Blast Off would look a little more accurate and Vortex would still have a pretty accurate body. Plus it would seem like they're both not straight up repaints.

Just trying to think of the simplest solution.

That name I used was a humorus play on words. I personally think its funny that if you remove the "O" in "Slingshot" and replace it with an "I" you now have the perfect name for a brown repaint. Your "swear filter" would have omitted the entire word rendering my joke non-understanable. I will kindly stop censoring my own comments at your request. If I may make a request of my own it would be for humor to be embraced rather than villianified. We are human beings discussing robots, not the other way around.

Boom. I loved 'em. Vortex as an interrogator using his blades to Jack Bauer someone into giving away information is quite fun. I could see Vortex and Swindle doing some good cop/bad cop kinda stuff.

Another nice touch in this wave is that the deluxes' instruction manuals now have both the arm and leg transformation steps in the same manual. I thought that was pretty cool.

I love the bios. Blast-Off finally makes sense, and I actually found myself enjoying his jet mode far more than his shuttle mode in context.

Also, I've found a few ways to pose Brawl to avoid the waist-issue.
