BURBANK, C.A. - January 13, 2015 - Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based entertainment division of Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced today that the popular kids television series Transformers: Robots in Disguise will return for a second season on Cartoon Network in the U.S., which consistently ranks as a top-rated network in Total Day for kids ages 6-11. The latest installment in the global TRANSFORMERS franchise will debut its second season in the first quarter of 2016.

"Transformers: Robots in Disguise continues to be a massive hit with kids across the country, launching with an outstanding debut season on Cartoon Network," said Hasbro’s Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Stephen Davis. "Season two will bring back Bumblebee and his Autobots team for all new action-packed battles, fun-filled adventures and other humorous new characters with vibrant personalities that made season one a hit with kids. We continue to listen to our viewers’ feedback and are bringing back many fan-favorite characters, as well as some great surprises we know kids of all ages are going to love."

Set years after "Transformers: Prime," Robots in Disguise stars the lovable Bumblebee character, summoned by Optimus Prime to lead in a fight to save Earth from a new faction of escaped Decepticon prisoners by assembling a rogue team of unlikely Autobot heroes to capture their new enemies. Season two will see the return of a more confident, battle-tested Bumblebee as the leader of the Autobots, including his teammates Grimlock, Sideswipe, Strongarm, Fixit, Windblade and Drift. Protecting Earth becomes a mighty task as the team prepares to battle against menacing pairs of Cyclone Mini-Cons, who partner with Deployers to unleash the most powerful attacks and wreak even more destruction than ever. Our hero Bumblebee and his team prepare for battle with new power-ups and mini-con allies of their own, as they maintain their mission to protect the planet as robots in disguise. The series will continue to celebrate the continuous underlying themes of teamwork, companionship and the importance of standing up to wrongdoers.

The highly innovative TRANSFORMERS franchise is one of the largest global brands, spanning across television, film, consumer products and digital entertainment properties including gaming, apps, publishing, transmedia events, toys and licensing.

"a more confident, battle-tested Bumblebee"

Because Bumblebee, Defeater of Megatron, Slayer of Skyquake, Tamer of Predaking (sorta), Surviving Assailant of Trypticon and Slaughterer of Vehicons was apparently not battle-tested before this series began. Somehow.

That's what happens when you don't pay attention to the news.

Were getting two seasons and a movie in total.

That we know of so far. There's no confirmation on season 2 being the final season.

No definites but heavily hinted that the show will end after season 2 and the movie.

Sales for toys and dvds are probably not that great not saying thier going down the tube or losing money but it's a slower year.

If it does end will this be the shortest main western transformers show to not make it past 2 seasons?

Well, it did say that we will see the return of said Bumblebee, so perhaps the press release was trying to contrast him with his character in other fiction (Prime, the movies). RID Bumblebee is more confident than his prior iterations, as he must be to lead an Autobot team, and he's more battle-tested as a field leader post RID Season 1, especially after formulating the plan and leading the attack that defeated Megatronus.

Not by a longshot ... RID had 39 episodes, Beast Machines had 26 episodes, Beast Wars had 52, Cybertron had 52, Armada had 52 and Energon had 52.

Would that even count as a show?

Most machinima products have been dvd movies and small Web series.

I don't think Combiner wars is going to be that long at most 12 or13 episodes if it goes by anime standards which I only bring up since some Japanese company is working on the animation I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong only going by memory.

New "Meet the Autobots" recap trailer that features new footage from season 2, including shots of Overload, a small lizard guy (Crazybolt? Though he looks kinda different), and the arctic-based redecos in the toyline:

Fellow Seibertronians, Hasbro Studios Shorts has uploaded a new video titled "Meet the Autobots". It appears to be a trailer focusing on recapping the Autobot cast and features new footage from season 2. This includes shots of the new Decepticon Overload, a small lizard that resembles Crazybolt, and the arctic-based redeco of Optimus Prime.

As of right now you have to view it on YouTube, so check it out using the link below, and tell us what you think of the trailer. Are you excited for this new season? How about the new criminals, con's, and arctic deco upgrades? Let us know in the comments below.

Hellscream9999, I'm excited for Season 2 as much as all of you guys. But, the new orange Decepticon in the trailer is definitely not Crazybolt, as he is a horned lizard, and this new one is in fact an alligator. The website named, TFW2005.com assumed that the Alligator is a Minicon, in which he didn't appeared to be.

Sometime today, if you please, show us the trailer for the Decepticons, since we do saw the trailer for the Autobots. I do really want to see which Cons are debuting and which ones are returning. :CON:

You sound like he possesses a Decepticon trailer that he's held back from showing to us. This Autobots one came from Hasbro and was posted on YouTube by Hasbro. None of us have any control over these trailers. You assume that anyone can just show a Decepticon trailer when there is none to show.

Crazybolt isn't a horned lizard, he's just a made up reptilian looking Decepticon! Same with the new little reptile character, he's not any particular species, he's just a lizard and not a alligator. How do I know this? Alligator's can't jump like that, and having one do so in show would really stretch the credibility of it's already subpar animal-gimmick 'Cons.
