Jawbreaker
Jawbreaker is a gentle giant! Its robust and bulky exterior hides great sensitivity. He often forgets his size and strength. "We didn't need this wall, did we?" soon became a Malto family saying.
Jawbreaker is excited to be part of a family, because it's like a team where everyone loves each other.
JB believes in seeing the best in everyone, and if you don't see it, you should strive to bring it out.
Of all the siblings, he is the most in tune with each other's emotions because he is driven by his own.
He is the only Earthling with a nickname, JB, which makes him feel accepted and special.
Jawbreaker is most curious about the Terran's connection to their Cybertronian heritage and what they can learn from it. He dreams of one day becoming a legend like Optimus Prime.
Jawbreaker chose a non-aggressive herbivore that lived in packs, a Bone-Headed STYGIMOLOCH (aka "Stiggy"), as his alternate mode. In battle mode, he uses his unbreakable armored skull to stun enemies and defend friends. He loves to party by cuddling with his little T. Rex arms.

One the show is currently trying to build up to, even, trying to keep the audience in suspense about it.

Does that include Nickelodeon themselves for putting it in a sizzle reel of all things?
There was some odd decisions made here for certain.

Technically it's Nickelodeon France who spoiled it.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Sabrblade wrote:This news story is itself a spoiler.TulioDude wrote:Isnt the title of this news a spoiler?

It was spoiled simultaneously from two ends. Nickelodeon spoiled the beast mode and Gulli spoiled the bot mode.

While the Transformers Earthspark show has been around for months, Megyn Kelly, famous for her time on Fox News, only learnt now that the show includes the non-binary character Nightshade. She doesn't watch the show but commented on a clip featuring Nightshade discussing their pronouns with a human, calling it "disgusting". The reason this is being brought up here is because with Transformers being a franchise from the 80s, it rarely gets discussed in the older demographic (60 and up) and now Megyn has raised the show's awareness to them, who follow her, spreading outrage.
This was then picked up by her old network, Fox, with Laura Ingraham who dedicated an entire segment to it, calling the show "corrosive".
Here is a video detailing the fox news segment with clips of Laura Ingraham reacting to Transformers Earrhspark.

The initial outrage over HUB alum SheZow didn't amount to much or last that long, did it?
Of course, that show was neither a presence on toy shelves, nor part of a decades-long franchise.
Point is, been here, done that.
Methinks this might just be a plot to get Nightshade's toy pulled before most collectors can finish their Mandroid, so some scalpers connected to the Murdochs who already have several cases stockpiled can leak them out at an 800% markup and pay off Fox News' recent legal bills! Wake up and connect the dots, sheeple!

Is Mortal Kombat the best example of a franchise targeted at kids that became iconic and enduring almost entirely due to free advertising from outrage-news-stories heralding its debut?

True Dat. I remember one pair of grandparents who came into my Toys'R'Us after the first Bay movie asking: "Is there one that turns from a car into like a person?" I somehow avoided laughing long enough to answer: "Well, we did have that guy, let's go check..."william-james88 wrote:Quantum Surge wrote:Someone in the media being riled up over a show. hmmm yes, another pointless outrage.
I so can't wait for the usual suspects to come along and jump on the Kelly bandwagon and prove how narrow minded they are.
In all seriousness, I don't give a flying fuck about pronouns, at the end of the day, they don't hurt me, nor do they hurt those close to me that I care about. It's not my thing, but if people want to use them then that's fine by me.

Personal opinion, I don't think sociopolitical and sexual preference stuff needs to be in a children's cartoon. And that a news outlet reports on this without being 40 years fan of the series is just fine by me.
Stick to Autobots fighting Decepticons while saving humans and other factions.

There was no mention of sexual preference.
As for sociopolitics, that's been there in some way or another with the Transformers brand throughout the years.

Sociopolitical issues have been a standard of superhero and similar media for decades, and nothing in the clip there touches on sexual preferences. Both categories were being touched on by the franchise over twenty years ago, anyways.

Wow, they are really late to the show here. Probably the only reason it is on Fox News now is because that stupid Libsoftiktok found and shared a clip of the show.
Either way, they can fuck right off with that. Nightshade is a good character and they identifying as them was never a problem until a hate page (Libsoftiktok is a hate page) found it. Otherwise, they are great, and this should not impact that.
No time or space for narrow minded assholes.

Not to be pedantic (okay, maybe a little), but Megyn Kelly left Faux News in 2017 thinking she could have a career outside of the conservative loon bubble. As it turned out, spewing lies and hate for 13 years can have an affect on your future career prospects, and after a brief stint with NBC, SiriusXM decided for some reason that giving her an outlet to Exorcist-vomit right-wing nonsense again was a swell idea. That's likely where this particular diarrhea was squirted out, though I'm sure some tool at Fox will pick it up and run with it soon enough.
