Scans of Figure King 240 Featuring Power of the Primes Volcanicus, Moonracer, Dreadwing and More!

Fellow Seibertronian Albatross 250 has sent out way scans of the no. 240 issue of Japanse collector's magazine Figure King, which features the upcoming Power of th Primes toys. As stated before, this is a unique situation where this sort of promotion now targets everyone in the world, regardless of which is disributing the toy. It is pretty cool to see the bulk of 3 pages of a Japanese magazine feature toys you (and anyone else) will be able to purchase locally with no need to import.

This does give us images of toys no one has handled yet, like Moonracer and the remaining Dinobots (with Volcanicus getting a whole page to himself). We also get a nice shot of the combined Dreadwing mode and more of Blackwing and the Submarauder decoy armour.

Alsong with Power of the Primes, there is also Masterpiece Shadow Panther and the Takara versions for the Knight Armour Turbo Changers.

Below are all three images from the magazine, brought to us by Loopaza, enjoy!

I think you should compromise and get Dreadwind and Swoop, come back for Slug. Dreadwind is beautiful and Swoop is the winner of wave 1.

I just may. Pteranodon and Triceratops are my two favorite dinos, plus I love jets, so releasing them together hasnt made my choice any easier. All I need to do is wait for Grimlock.

If you want all of them anyway, why hesitate and don't get them at once?

Budget concerns. ;)

They are according to the 80s which this line is based on.

Its just classification, like where books go in a library. It often gets revised as well. As of right now, scientists say that pteranodons do not belong in the same group called Dinosaurs (and neither do others like the plesiosaur).

To clarify, I aiming at the pop culture definition, which is always a lot broader than the scientific one (I mean, Power Rangers called the Mastodont and Saber Tooth Tiger dinosaurus, while they're mammals and came way after their extinction)

The clade Dinosauria is land-based for the most part, with the included current birds and some ancient Maniraptorians capable of powered flight. Flying reptiles are in the separate, but on the same level, Pterosauria, while marine reptiles are either part of Ichtyosauria or Plesiosauria.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I know but you can't just say "Hey, I want this one to be a dinosaur and this one not.". As books they have to have/fulfill some specific charecteristics. >:oP

They simply chose to only call the land based ones Dinosaurs and the others to have their own group.

It might be the scans, but Moonracer is very brightly green. That's as bright as the colors on Megatronia. Mintracer would be a better name.

I didn't know that the "American Darkwings brothers" could merge, it's a nice feature that surely sells them to me. Also I like Moonracer, while I shall wait for superior-sized Dinobots (the combining gimmick still disturbs me, even if Volcanicus is totally-not-The-Beast).

Is it me or does the Takara version of Darkwing look better? Like the Hasbro one is miss-transformed?

This is perhaps the least newsworthy listing that could've appeared on online retailer Amazon.com, but it does bring us further confirmation of the release of the Generations Power of the Primes (but really Combiner Wars) Blast Off figures that was initially seen with Weibo (here) and later on ACD Distribution (here).

The listing, which has no description, no price, no images, no dates, does confirm the latter coverage linked above, and comes with an ASIN (the Amazon equivalent of an ISBN) and item number, and is called 'Special Edition'. Make of that what you will, as you join the discussion in the Energon Pub!

ASIN B077YYP738
Item model number E1796

If the art is accurate, it's a redeco. Here's a stock photo of the UW figure:

We do have a likely confirmation that he'll come with his original HFG piece and gun, not the PotP Armor Hand.
