The time is almost nigh for fans to get their hands on the Masterpiece version of the resident Autobot inventor. According to site sponsor TFSource, MP-20 is scheduled for release in Japan on September 10. They expect him to be in stock about a week later. Yeah, Masterpiece doesn't tend to use non-Japanese artists' artwork.

Because in G2 Lambor's case, they definitely used Derek Yaniger's designs for the headsculpt!

Because in G2 Lambor's case, they definitely used Derek Yaniger's designs for the headsculpt!

Same with ths02 first edition Convoy with the black solar powered armor. It also sported 2 Yaniger style heads.

"Doesn't tend to" isn't the same as "doesn't ever". It just means that they don't make a habit of using artwork from non-Japanese sources. Lambor G-2 Ver. is a notable example of such rare instances in which they do. But all the main line releases seem to use Japanese artwork unique to those releases.
