Yup, couldn't agree more. It's called stock footage and film makers use it all the time to save cash. What would you rather have, brand new footage of cars getting crushed or more CGI Transformers on screen?
Why is this such a big deal but using footage of President Kennedy, President Nixon and the moon landing is not getting discussed?
