Scans of New Takara Legends Manga for LG59 Blitzwing and LG58 Clonebots

Thanks to fellow Seiebrtronians Primalxconvoy and Sabrblade for bringing these new manga scans to our attention. Below you will find the latest entries in the Legends Comic series which includes the in package comic for Takara's Transformers Legends LG59 Blitzwing and LG58 Clonebot set.

The Blitzwing comic is rather intriguing since it sheds light on who the partner "drone" might be. The black redeco of Shuffler seems to be Big Convoy, so a sentient robot after all. Also, we see Blitzwing drones coloured to homage Blitzwing Diaclone colour scheme, and they seem to be the army for the Quintessons.

Also, in Legends Manga news, we have a summary for the Overlord comic we recently posted, which will be found below the comic scans and the tech specs.

Enjoy!

Summary of the Overlord comic brought to us from TFWiki

TFWiki wrote:Having been informed by Clouder of a "Ch?kon Tower" Chinese restaurant that's offering food at half price to Masterforce users, Ginrai and the Autobot Headmaster Juniors check it out and find it owned by Giga and Mega in a building looking like a familiar combination of jet and tank. The two explain that they've come back to life to finish their vendetta against Ginrai and spread fliers advertising their business in order to lure him in, and are again working with Devil Z, recovered from his previous defeat by absorbing the Legends World's energies. After letting Ginrai finish his meal so that they'll be at full strength for the battle, the villainous couple equip their new Masterforce suits and get ready to fight, pleasing Devil Z who reveals he's responsible for reviving them to help him with destroying the world. Ginrai questions why they'd do that, but Giga and Mega don't care who they have to work with as long as they they get to settle things with Ginrai.

As the combatants get to their respective transtectors, Super Ginrai taunts his opponents that he's already seen what the Gigatank and Megajet can do at Bonapar Island, only for them to reveal that they've regained the ability to become Overlord, now as Headmasters. Ginrai remains confident he can win with his mastery of Ten-Chi-Jin Ch?kon Power, but Overlord claims to have mastered a power beyond that of Ten-Chi-Jin—the wish-granting Zamojin power of the Legends World, also known as Shinch?kon! Using this energy, Overlord creates another Gigajet and Gigatank out of thin air, allowing Mega to form the head of a second Overlord, and together "Overlord Giga" and "Overlord Mega" overwhelm Super Ginrai and Godbomber with their "Ch?kon Double Kick Tornado". Ginrai is forced to call upon Rattrap and use his Getmaster powers to fire a beam of J?ch?kon, though it fails to impress and Overlord Giga counters with a "Ch?kon Dis-Relive" missile barrage that Ginrai only deflects by combining into God Ginrai and using Godbomber's recently upgraded armor. However, the Overlords reveal that he's not the only one who can combine and use Shinch?kon to merge together into a form dubbed "Overlord Tera". This prompts Devil Z to show up to gloat, when suddenly Doubleclouder subdues him with energon chains, the double agent having been loyal to Mayor Megatron from the start.

God Ginrai is brought down by Overlord Tera's mighty Ch?kon Devil Fire, but when Rattrap urges him to fight on, he starts glowing with a mysterious light. Watching the battle, Metroplex recognizes it as the light of the Zamojin energy that brought him to this world—Ginrai has been imbued with Rattrap's latent Shinch?kon! Using Get On to draw upon both J?ch?kon and Shinch?kon from the rat, he covers his body in flames and uses a "Double Ch?kon Fire Guts" tackle to take down Overlord, who admits defeat. Giga and Mega are ready to die again together with Devil Z, but Clouder informs them that Devil Z has been safely captured and will not be killed, so neither will they, and Ginrai happily tells them they're welcome to try to settle things with him some other time. In the end, the couple continues to run their restaurant and Mega is happily reunited with the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, though Giga has to end the half-off offer when Ginrai starts eating there all the time.

Darn it, now I want Overcharges...they would probably be very expensive troop builders like the last one.

And then Blitzwing teams up with the mysterious black elephant to save the legends world with the help of astrotrain? I can't wait for a synopsis of this one.

I REALLY hope we can get those (Ehobby?) clones! I would love to see the black version, used as a heavy trooper in the recent cell-shaded TF game, too. I love the Blitzwing mold.

It's just the old G1 mold version pictured here, drawn in the style of Blitzwing's 1985 cartoon model.

The headless one Blitzwing takes control of to become his new Transtector body not only changes its colors but is reformatted entirely into resembling his new toy.

In other words, this isn't an indication of an upcoming Overcharge redeco of the TR/Legends Blitzwing mold. Otherwise, they would have drawn the Overcharges to match the new toy mold like they did with Blitzwing himself.

You just killed my dream...

Baby Primus is sad...

Anyway, speaking of his designs and models, when I noticed that the Legends version is based on the TFTM version, in the "come on down, AutoBRAT" scene, I noticed that his turret was facing the nosecone, not the feet/headlights as it "should do". Is that an animation error, line the yellow "collars" alongside his head?

On the flipside, this comic is encouraging us to keep troop building the preexisting Overcharge toy.

About that, could you post them here next time as well instead of just TFW? And also send them to our news staff e-mail, that would help :)

No problem. Actually, I didn't link them here. I only had enough time this morning to scan, edit and post them to the other site. Then, I found out some kind soul linked them here and gave me credit!

Also, I only posted them elsewhere after checking for permission to do so. As I hadn't asked here, I didn't post them.

How can I send pics like this to the site easily? I'd love to have an "upload" option for large pics like this!

Synopsis for Blitwing's comic:

Another victim of being reduced to a Headmaster, Blitzwing is drinking with Astrotrain at Hardhead's bar and feeling like he's been to the Legends World once before, though Astrotrain thinks he's just spinning tall tales and makes fun of him for being unable to fight without orders. On the way home, Blitzwing insists he'd be the perfect soldier if only he had the perfect strategist giving him orders, but stops when he suddenly recalls his past and warns Astrotrain that the area is about to be bombed. Indeed, an army of tanks and jets suddenly overruns the city, an army that Blitzwing remembers being part of...

At the mayor's office, Megatron recognizes the attacking forces as Quintesson military hardware, even though the last Quintessons are supposed to have been sucked into a dimensional fissure. Soundblaster explains that the Quintessons have invented ways to traverse spacetime before, meaning the passage of time is irrelevant—these Quintessons must be from the past! The Quintesson leading the army is ordering his soldiers to destroy the city and turn it into an area where they can build factories and exile criminals, only to be interrupted when Blitzwing tackles him, angry about once having been a Quintesson slave. He's easily tossed aside by the Quintesson's personal Overcharge, however, and is left lamenting that he's no good at planning strategies when a robot mammoth calling himself Big Fight approaches and offers to be his strategist. In the meantime, Astrotrain has fetched his transtector and helps shoot down one of the Overcharges, allowing Blitzwing to modify it into a transtector of his own.

Big Fight doesn't offer a strategy for the coming battle, however, but just transforms into a gun for Blitzwing and tells him to make his own destiny. Reflecting that he's tired of being ordered around like a piece of military hardware anyway, Blitzwing decides to face his weakness and think for himself, flies to the battlefield and transforms into a tank in mid-air to crush the Quintesson's Overcharge. When the Quintesson escapes, the Overcharge begins despairing that he's not receiving orders and doesn't know what to do, causing Blitzwing to have a revelation—the Overcharge is him from the past! Looking his past self in the eyes, he tells him that his name is now Blitzwing and gives him his "orders": to be free, think for himself and do whatever he enjoys doing.

The army flees back to their own universe, with the Quintesson deeming whoever created this world dangerous and in need of investigation, while Blitzwing watches and recalls that, yeah, he did get his name from a big purple guy once. He asks Big Fight who he is, and the mammoth reveals he's just a local nerd afflicted with Transformers sickness who saw a chance to fight alongside a G1 Transformer and took it. Blitzwing then goes drinking with Astrotrain again, explaining that after abandoning the Quintessons, he joined the Decepticons, helped attack the Ark and ended up on Earth, though Astrotrain is still uninterested in hearing his stories. The next day, Big Fight, in reality the high school teacher Big Convoy, falls asleep during class.

Cheers for this. Now I have the dilemma is partnering Big Fight with Blitzwing (story, canon), Black Convoy (aesthetics) or Lio Convoy (Maximal leaders)...

That Takara Blitzy deco is nice and that artwork is even nicer. I do love how wacky fun the mangas are.

So, with Blitzwing's comic, we get an origin story for Cartoon Blitzwing, and the reason all the Overcharges are drawn like Blitzwing's cartoon model instead of the updated TR/Legends design is because these Overcharges are from the past and the main one is to become Blitzwing himself, so they have to look like Blitzwing's old design for the sake of matching how Blitzwing looked in the past (e.g. - how he looked in the cartoon).

Btw, even though I scanned the original comics used here, I can't for the life of me see Blitzwing (Blitzedwing? ;) ) having a wee outside in the street. Unfortunately, I HAVE seen my fair share of old Japanese men, at all times of the day, openly urinating in public. Is not masses of them, but fairly common, nonetheless.

Could someone help me locate the part in the comic please?

It's Astrotrain who does it, in the bottom-right corner of the first page.
