Netflix's Transformers War for Cybertron: Kingdom First Footage and more!

Thanks to Seibertronian Sabrblade and many others, we have our first look at the third chapter of Netflix and Rooster Teeth's Transformers War for Cybertron Trilogy, Kingdom! The footage comes from the YouTube video, "New on Netflix | July 2021", which highlights upcoming shows and movies for Netflix US in, you guessed it, July 2021! The Kingdom clip starts 9:22 in, though the video is unfortunately region-locked to the United States.

The clip itself features our first look at the Maximals in robot mode, as well as the voice of the boss monkey himself, Megatron in beast mode, and a sinister Ultra Magnus!

Below is an un-region-locked YouTube mirror!

A reminder that our previous news on the Kingdom chapter is two posters from the NetflixGeeked Twitter of the Maximals and Predacons watching the Ark and Nemesis fall to Earth, with the release date of July 29th! There is also the soundtrack for preorder from Amazon with potential spoilers!

Check out screenshots and the two posters from Kingdom below and sound off your thoughts on the Pub forums below!

It's made me cringe instead. Still have the expression on my face, it's not wearing off and it's starting to hurt

Also, I guess T30 rhinox usvthe one to get if you want a show accurate figure.

Unrelated, they are going non union so they cant take any uno
Ionized actor, no matter how cheap they are.

I know almost nothing about beast wars, but isn't cheetor and tigatron suppose to have different designs? Looks like they maybe just upscaled and changed the color to make tigatron. Maybe this is accurate or not though.

Also I really hate how cheap this whole show feels. So many reuses of models and not even getting them accurate (Exhausts head). pretty sure I can count the total number of unique onscreen transformations on one hand too.

Cartoon Tigatron was basically upscaled cheetor with a different head and chest in robot mode
OG tigatoy was just a straight repaint of cheetor

I don't know if adding "evil Ultra Magnus" as the article thumbnail was a good idea, some might consider that a spoiler.

But isn't the money the main reason they're going non-union? Because it costs less? And of course they don't have to be restricted by union rules? I mean, whatever the reason, they should have gotten Cullen and Chalk. It would have been worth it.

Also, was I the only one who thought the Kingdom Magnus toy was a cheap money grab by changing the cab and the deco a bit? Turns out there will be onscreen support for it, regardless of who or what this new Magnus actually is.

To clarify, Cullen and Chalk are union boys, so they were always off the table once production decided to go non-union. They couldn't hire either of them unless they reversed the decision and went the union route

2 things, :
1. Cullen and Chalk are both union and will only work on projects that use union actors, so they couldn't/wouldn't participate in this.
2. That is still the old Siege Ultra Magnus design.

Dear Netflix,
there are a bazillian and one people on Youtube who can do voices who are WAY BETTER then what you have right here. They are non union, and hell, some might even do it for free. Even if you pulled who you have now off Youtube, just please, how about just... oh I don't know, maybe like 1% more effort? Hell half a percent more effort I would be happy.

yours truly,
the guy facepalming saying, "Well that's just.... unfortunate"

All this talk about union vs non-union has got me wondering. Aren't Keith Silverstein and Todd Haberkorn union? They're both in this show and have each done lots of LA-based and Texas-based projects with many other union actors. So if they are union, were they just affordable enough to be cast in this show? Or did they both agree to take a lower pay because they both really wanted to be in this show?

Price is one factor, but there are other factors. As someone stated previously, Gary Chalk and Peter Cullen wont take roles in projects with non union voice actors. Due to union rules, there will be plenty of other actors, both known and unknown, who will do the same.

The same could be asked about Jason Marnocha, and Frank Todaro. I am honestly not sure but *perhaps* (as was in the case of Prime Wars), they had an arrangement whereby union Talent could be used (or was preferred), but non-union (freelance) was an option.

Whereas if a production chooses to go fully non-union (WFC for example), then any actor who is part of the SAG-AFTRA would basically forfeit membership if they took a job on this project. Also, I guess then by default that makes Cyberverse a non union project? I mean I know Boulder Media is based in Ireland, and the show is fully produced there, but, as an example, Many BW actors are Canadian, unless they have dual citizenship? I know some have taken up residence in the United States. I am not exactly sure if the SAG-AFTA Union only applies to actors in the United States, or how far it's reach extends, who can be a member? etc...

The voices in the English version make me cringe. I really hope i can watch the Japanese version one day. The Optimus Prime in the Japanese version is the same guy who did him in Headmasters.

Not only that; Tesshō Genda, is also the same actor that voiced Optimus (Convoy), in the original series as well, among many others. He basically is Japan's Peter Cullen.

Anyone remember when I was really anal about the use of red on Primal's chest circle in the Netflix toy thread? Well there's a reason, if you don't pay attention you can make a dumb goof, like these morons did:

Frank is union? I know he has an agent but I didn't know he was part of a union.

My apologies. I was basically saying he *may* or *may not* be, based on his past, working with some union VA's, but again, Prime wars may have had the freelance option, so it is still an unknown, to me at least.

The voice acting in this is akin to the art style in the current BW comic; amateur and unwanted.
