Thanks to fellow Seibertron user and Toy Reviewer, Chuckdawg1999, we have a brand new English review of the newest Leader Class release for the Transformers War for Cybertron Siege line, Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime! This toy (which several users have been able to find at retail) is a retool of the previously released Leader Class Ultra Magnus mold, now redesigned to look like Optimus Prime's Super Mode from the Cybertron cartoon and toyline. The inner prime resembles a more stylised G1 Optimus Prime.

The armor comes together nicely although getting it situated on the back can be tricky. Finally hit jackpot and found WFC-S40 Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime. Wife needed to stop by a Walmart (Colonial Heights, VA) on our way to the base this morning, and there you have it.

I included a size comparison photo with my other OPs i have at the office.

I too was lucky enough to find one without expectation at a local Walmart. I also found Laserbeak and Ravage set. :DANCE:

Now I'm just faced with Prime...should he stay or should he go? :BANG_HEAD:

Because of my knit picking on the legs and my lousy luck I'm sure the problem is going to be constant with every figure out there IMHO.

I'm just gonna have to stare at it unopened to get my answer damnation! :-P

I’m really torn in this guy. May cave if I see him in person. I’d snap up a Nova or/and Nemesis repaint in a heartbeat. Probably if they hadn’t used the cab bot in the comics, it would be an easier pass.

Chuck brings up a good point. A repaint of sixgun as Leo/Nemesis breaker would be awesome.

Also feel like he steals some is Ultra Magnus’ thunder....which is funny because I almost prefer Magnus in his cab form.... I guess the shorter/squarer/angrier prime works for him as a City Commander; and contrasts well with the voyager Prime which is taller/leaner

After watching the video again from Chuckdawg and listening to his comments, I looked over my Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime alittle more. Honestly after i got him to my office, I just opened it up and posed him and put him in place. I will say, mine does a at least have one loose leg. If you hold it up like Chuck does and shake it, the right leg on mine dangles so to speak.
I will add that in vehicle mode, the non painted wheels is not appealing and perhaps Toyhax will come out with something.
But all in all, still a cool figure in my opinion. I don’t own Ultra Magnus, so that would be a cool photo to see.
Who knows, may get him now.

I picked up Galaxy Upgrade Optimus last night/this morning and played with him a bit. It's a good figure, but not worth $50. I actually don't like the super mode, so he will be displayed without his backpack. It will stay in the box. However, I think the Prime figure itself is too bulky for its legs (something that wasn't so apparent with Magnus) so I will be keeping his leg armor on, which will make him slightly taller and his legs not seem like chicken legs, like SS38's are. The truck mode is not too bad, but the faux wheels do take away from the image a bit. But it won't matter, because I'll be keep him in robot mode on the shelf.

I also picked up Aimless, so Misfire is now pleased.

Thanks for that nice succint review. Further cements my idea not to pick it up and simply be happy with the original.

Look closely at the detailing where the wheels are...LOOK CLOSER and you will see THEY ARE NOT WHEELS

I've heard reports both ways, that they're solidly in place, like yours, and that they're like mine, falling off at the drop of a hat. I'm not sure if it's a QC your mileage may vary sort of thing or if there was a running change and you got a later, revised release. Unfortunately, I've already thrown away my Ironhide box, so I can't tell you what the production stamp code was.

My Ironhide doesn't have problems with those panels being loose. They don't peg on like they should be they stay put with no flopping around when in robot mode so I'm happy with that! ;)^

What is your code, Will? If I see one out in the wild with your code or higher, I might take a chance and double dip to see if I get a better figure.
