Oddly, despite Wildbreak forming the upper torso/head/arms, it's Dragstrip who ends up in control of the combined form's faculties.

I thought I remembered seeing Dragstrip's name as two words... oh well.

Possibly "Wildstrip" was deemed an inappropriate name for a children's character. Goodness knows why that would have been...

Pretty sure none of the portmanteaus sounded appealing. WildDrag and StripBreak?

Because in the cartoon it is Drag Strip that forms the shirt, while Wildbreak forms the pants:

The toys seem to have it reversed.

Good point, something just doesn't add up given that they switched the order and gave Breaky the wrong alt mode, yet still have him the right one is the Menasor set. I'm starting to wonder if they made some serious changes late into season 3's production.

Perhaps someone decided to change it so there wouldn't be a yellow Decepticon that the kids might think is Bumblebee. (though that would be kind of insulting if they did do something like that).
Perhaps it's a simple error and they might introduce a running change with them swapped over (or Takara might swap them over - if they make their own version) - which i'd not mind as you'd have some extra combination options then.
Hopefully they will make the other two as well - just so that it opens up the play pattern.
I suppose they won't make very many of these - which is shame as if they did - then it would be most amusing to see a Scatterspike and Quillfire Crash combiner. You could have some fun with the various kinds of animal Decepticons too.
I guess we will find out what Hasbro is thinking to do with RID at the Hasbro show.

... wait. They... they gave the F1 drag racer to Wildbreak and not Drag Strip?

Worse still, neither is an F-1 racer in the show.Kurona wrote:... wait. They... they gave the F1 drag racer to Wildbreak and not Drag Strip?

Wildbreak is most clearly the offspring of Knock Out and Breakdown.

Guess they managed to hug after all...

Carry on.

The UK government does.
But in other retorts: that's actually the inside of my head.

Is it possible they painted the figures wrong? Considering the blue one in the show is the one that forms the pants and is the character who was in G1 a sports car while the yellow one in the show is the one on top and had an F1 design in the G1 show, could it be that the figures were painted backwards since every other source would indicate the colors should be reversed?

We will find out more once we see the robot modes. I can only imagine blue F-1 car having Wildbreak's design, and the yellow sports car Dragstrip's

The picture of Dragbreak on the package looks pretty much like he does on the show, except with the color schemes of the two halves swapped. So even if you disregard any possible G1 influence (not easy, I know), it's still backwards.

Luckily, the cartoon has the two as the same car type, with neither being an F-1 racer. Thus, while Dragstrip isn't an F-1 racer in the show, coloring the F-1 racer toy that forms the top of Dragbreak in Dragstrip's colors, and coloring the car that forms the pants in Wildbreak's colors, would make this toy set less backwards than it is now.Zeedust wrote:D-Maximus_Prime wrote:Is it possible they painted the figures wrong? Honestly, I love the concept, and I like putting them all into a single set, but the follow through is just awful.
