There has been much talk of Reveal the Shield G2 Optimus Prime, which should be available soon, talk of it's...
Incredible amount of articulation
Good detail
Its engineering
The fact that it has a chest you can open to reveal a (non-removable) Matrix

However there have been complaints;

Horrible colour scheme
Not enough paint apps
Horrible looking head
Horrible looking hands
Horrible feet
No trailer
No gun
Flames (shall they burn in hell)

Do you want this toy but feel like a few of the above mentioned flaws should be corrected then, well you might have your wish come true!
A post over at HK-TF.com's forum gives us a look at what might be an upcoming 3rd party product meant for "completing" G2 Optimus Prime. It's currently unknown which company will be producing this set.

For simplicity's sake we'll just pretend that this is in fact an upcoming product. What we can tell from the images the set comes with;

A new sword
New feet
New Head
Possibly new hands (the position of them in the images makes it hard to tell if they are new or if it's just an optical illusion)
Oh and a trailer which can turn into a battle station and combine with Optimus Prime

The trailer looks pretty close to that of the original G2 Laser Optimus Prime figure, but the silhouettes of both modes do reveal a few differences.

Hmm, possibly interesting, if a little unnecessary. I'd personally wait until an RiD Scourge repaint.

i actually like the hands, & head, & sword, feet ok, paint job yes needed work i actulally liked other than fact it has no trailer.

i buy it if its avaliable at tfscource or bbts combined mode looks littel pointe less im sold

I think Hasbro will release the repaint as Nemesis Prime since we have the Scourge name being used already.

Nice looking upgrade but the super mode just doesn’t work for me. Kind of looks more like a battle suit…. also did anybody see that OP bot’s eyes are staring right out of super mode’s chest behind the orange panel.

it's supposed to do that. Think of it more like an exo-suit.

Sounds quite interesting... I doubt that I'll be getting it, since like most 3rd party products, it'll probably be too expensive, but it does look like it could be pretty cool.

I was more than willing to live with some of the problems presented by G2 Optimus given how well articulated he seemed to be as well as having a sword...

then we're presented with the possibility of having a bigger one... among other things...

It's just a simple deluxe class figure. Keep the fixes simple and stop adding crap that's going to jack it up out of someones price range.

I had hoped that Fansproject would design a trailer for this.

Hopefully whoever is behind this is of similar quality. I can't tell from just the silhouette whether or not I like it. Looks top heavy.

I love this, however I'm probably never going to use the combined mode since the original didn't have that.

I may have to get 2 Primes now, one to use as is and one for this upgrade.

Funny, a few years ago, we were screaming for a trailer for classics Prime/Convoy. Now I don't have enough shelf space for trailers and we have two potential trailer upgrades for lesser figures posted as news on the same day.

Looks interesting but my trailer days are behind me now that I have the Protector armor.

Wow, this upgrade looks awesome, though i don't have many problems with the actuall RTS G2 Prime I'm still going to buy him... And most likely this upgrade set once I see released pictures.

This is very interesting. Hopefully more pictures will follow soon because i get rather tired of silhouettes. I hope the new features do not make him fall out of proportion or lose articulation. I am also very excited about the trailer and the combined mode looks interesting. Is that a monitor on the front of him?

Hasbro should never try to get rid of third party organizations. I think together, they help each other out incredibly. For many people including myself, if this set looks good, it will be the soul reason I buy Hasbro's G2 Prime. As is the IDW head iGear is putting out for Kup.

Anyway, while I may be one out of 2 people who actually liked the original head, I'll still be getting this. I feel obligated to since I never owned an original G2 prime. G2 was what me and my brothers grew up with after all.

I doubt this is FPs doing (though I would prefer it be them) since they're already going to be incredibly busy. And if they have anything new on the horizon they usually just come out with it. It does take after their silhouette preview style though, so maybe they're trying to be like Fans Project.

This is the year of fan toys everyone. Are we blessed? Or cursed?

Very interesting indeed. Looks promising from the silhouettes. Not enough for me to get G2 Prime but that's only because I don't really want a G2 Prime in my collection. The new feet make a huge improvement in my opinion. Here's (still) hoping for an evil repaint that this will work with.

I'll probably get this if the price is right, almost looks like Optimus stepped out of the Brave series! but if the price is a little steep i'll probably only get it for the inevetable RiD scrouge repaint.

I can understand having no gun and no trailer being a bad thing, but how come the flames are considered a con as well? I mean, the original laser Prime had them, RTS G2 Prime is only trying to be accurate, and if he didnt have the flames you would still find people complaining about that since, like I said, the original had them. >.>

I simply listed all the things people have been bitching about, and strangely most people complaint about the flames.
The only thing I don't like about him is the ugly alt-mode and the missing gun.

The original G2 Prime was and still is one of my favorite Transformers toys of all time! When I heard that we were getting an updated version in the Reveal the Sheild line, I may have squealed just a little bit...

I admit that the new sword, while definitely well designed, was a bit puny, but otherwise it looked good to me. That said, I will DEFINITELY look into this one if it isn't too expensive.

Kapow toys here in the UK is selling RTS Prime for £8.99. Also i picked one up from Smyths toystore on saturday for £9.99. I must admit the picture on the back of the box sold it too me, only to find out it looks pants due to lack of paint in robot mode....so annoys me when they do that
