Sci-Fi Revoltech #40 Optimus Prime DX

Do any of our site advertisers have a pre-order posted for this yet? I'd like to order one!

See, this is how Kaiyodo gets'ya, you think you're happy with your Revoltech Jehuty, but then they release one with the Vector Cannon, you think you're happy with your Revoltech Gurren Lagann, but then they release one with the Gurren Wing! I tells ya, it never ends...
...that said, I'll probably have to get this.

I've noticed that the preorders usually go up when Kaiyodo releases all the pics they'll be using on the box, give'em a few weeks, they'll turn up.

Not yet, this is the first time we've even heard of this product.

Feeling a little burned with my original SciFi Revoltech DOTM Optimus...not gonna lie.

I would only buy one if it can transform.

Or atleast make a different character

Thew quotes are always the answer. I'm not big on Revoltechs myself, but I'd love to own one of the Gurren Lagann mechs. I'm quite sad that I missed out on the sale BBTS had of the Full Drillized version.

On topic, this is pretty cool, but I don't need it.

Looks neat, but I like the look of the first movie optimus they did more.

If this was ROTF optimus with jetfire parts that might have been more interesting to me.

Bitchin' and probably very back heavy.

I've already got the massive Jetwing Optimus. Sure, this one is more accurate, but I've got a ton of other stuff to buy. And what with the DOTM craze long gone, I'm just not feeling the need for this. Would have considered it if it were Shockwave, Megatron or Sentinel.

The earlier Revoltech OP I got was on 50% discount at my hobby store, and the only way I'd buy this one is if it's on similar discount.

I already have the OP they released I'm not gonna buy the same figure just for a jet pack. From the pic that's the only difference I see or does DX mean the figure it self is different to not just the jet pack

There's Revoltechs of G1 Megatron and Starscream, if that counts for anything.

The Candyman Rakutan Store gives us some official looks at Revoltech's upcoming Sci-Fi #40 Optimus Prime DX. In additional to the previously revealed jetwings, the figure also includes a new Energon axe weapon and flight stand. Images mirrored below.

The wings are all wrong, but that axe is freaking sweet.

With the normal one, which ironically came with like, ten thousand guns or something, when he just needed the one, could have given the ones he didn't need to the jetpack version, oh well.

well thats how revoltech operates. they sell one guy with one piece of a three piece puzzle, another with the other piece, and so on. You need all three to complete whatever it is. In this case, its alot simpler though. You want guns to go with your jetwing? Buy the original, you want blades to go with your original, buy the jetwing! mix and match for desired results!
Watch them make another one with a shield, and a normal face, with knuckle duster hands. Then you'd have all the pieces, and three OPs.

I was also extremely disappointed with that figure. I got it because these figures are supposed to be super-posable, but I found that I could NEVER get a decent pose. Something about the heaviness and rubberiness of the parts makes him slump or slouch no matter what you do. I'm just glad I got it as a gift so I didn't waste my own money on it. Now he just stays in the box.

It's mainly his lower legs are too heavy for the pegs in his hips, he is super-posable though, and with some doing you can get him to hold some neat poses.

How big is this revoltech

this^ and also is it me or does it look like he heated up the batwing and attached a handle to it because that looks awesome.

Giant axe and a blade? Nice! The flight pack with two blades would have been a badass combo.

As someone said earlier, a Jetfire/Optimus combo from RoTF would be THE most awesome thing they could do.

Revoltech has updated their website with more images of their upcoming Sci-Fi Revoltech Series No. 040 Optimus Prime DX. This release adds the Jetwings that Optmus Prime used to take on Shockwave's Driller and Energon Battle Axe he used to finally dispatch Megatron as seen in Transformers Dark of the Moon. It also includes a clear stand to help pull of flight scenes. Images mirrored below.

Oh man, I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really want this. I hope they do a Megatron version too, I know he wouldn't have any real accessories, but it would be a metric f**ck ton better than a Bumblebee like this. The only thing he would possibly be missing from this is a shield.

He really looks like he's gliding instead of having jetwings..

Preordered on BBTS, I'm looking forward to it - my first Revoltech.

He does look really good. However, I have the regular Revoltech OP and this is not different enough to justify getting him. Besides the jetpack, the only real difference is the axe. If I didn't already have the other one though, I would definitely be getting this one. I hope they keep making TF Revoltechs!

Revoltech has posted a video (really more of a slideshow) showcasing their upcoming SciFi Revoltech #40 Optimus Prime DX figure. This version features Jetwings, a flight display stand, and battle axe. Video embedded below.

After watching that I felt like I should be playing some classic 80's video game not watching a video.

Those wings are really strange. Lots of odd angles.

Still not sure about it. It's nothing but cool with an impressive range of mobility, it's just a bit of a niche item for my collection.
