Wow, thats a far cry from the times you said he was close to being perfect. Now he's the worse leader of all time? It looks like your opinion on him is lowering by the hour

And trust me, there are worse leaders. The seekers, for example. And I dont find sixshot so much worse than the other Titans Return leaders aside from Sky Shadow. The leaders have all been a bit ho hum for me due to them all being similar to other leader figures, and quite simple compared to the more ingenious deluxes.

How is that so bad, is it because you preordered him for a heftier price?

i dont see whats wrong with sixshot.. i havent opened him yet.
whats wrong with the seeker mold. i do think that by the skywarp mold things were harder to keep tabbed in. like the shoulders.
of course i like galvatron where everyone else hate him. so theres that

There isnt so much wrong with the seeker mold, my problem is how it is reused from a mold that I would have preferrerd remained unique.

But there are still problems with it like the holes at the back end of the jet mode that are left from jetfire, and how the wings look like cheese graters. The seekers always have colours on the wings that we can see in robot mode, it adds to the colour variance.

While Jetfire looked awesome, the seekers come off as cheap reuses with not as much colour variance.

Well he is close to being good, but is frustratingly not there. The weak knees are a real let down since he can only stand straight upright, the arms are not very movable, and those stickers. Plus all the modes feel close to alright, but they just aren't good. The wolf and tank modes are the only ones I feel are worth it, and those are the only 2 I really use. Sub/gun mode is yeck, car mode is not impressive, and the jet mode just won't work because of the wings and the way the arms are supposed to stay in place but don't. plus his guns are weak and he is just.... too simple.

I really like the leader seeker mold, and I find it better than Sixshot. Thundercracker has loads more presence, personality, and at least he can hold his poses.

IDK, the wave 3 Megatron and Sixshot were major disappointments for what I had hoped for, and they are very much overshadowed by deluxes and titan masters(!!!). Blaster was a good mold too, and one that I would enjoy more if it was a mobile alt mode instead of a boombox.

And compared to Jetfire, Thundercracker, Blaster, Ultra Magnus, and Megatron, he just doesn't feel up to their snuff. I know your opinion on Megatron, but I love him to death, so there is some slight bias there, but I still find him a better figure.

I signed up for HTS months ago, so unless they have a promo, there's no way to get Sky Shadow at a reduced price currently for me. I'll wait. Its amazing that after months of never seeing a Soundwave to the point that I ordered with my HTS coupon back in Feb, now 'm seeing him everywhere. In fact many stores have all 3 leaders (PM Prime, Blaster & Soundwave). I guess the one Sixshot I saw and obtained was a freak accident, but glad I did...I still don't quite get why a store that at one time got *newer* leaders would later be restocked with older ones?...

I mean there is still a Wal-Mart store that back in December had Leader Prime & Blaster (which obviously sold), but now they have 4 CW Skywarps...???

I'm slowly starting to see wave 4 but its all kinds of Random... Krok & Quake at Walgreens, Broadside at Target, and the TM's at Target & Wal-Mart months ago (which are all gone now). Still have yet to see Perceptor, Topspin, the Legends, or Sky Shadow (the only wave 4 character I want) at B&M.

Hey guys, you know how Broadside's carrier mode has pegs for the little Aerialbot jets on it? I just found out that Broadside's jet mode also has pegs for those little jets, some of these pegs are only found in Jet Mode. Meaning you can put the little Aerialbots all over Broadside's Jet Mode in addition to his Carrier Mode, which means that if the Aerialbots are meant to represent the sizes of normal jets, then Broadside's Jet Mode ain't no normal-sized jet. His Jet Mode's a biggun!

Of course we know way back when the original series Fort Max was the pinnacle of Transformers "Bigness". But for GI Joe fans it was the USS Flag. I often think about this in comparison with Broadside (which I know is completely unfair)...but man, if they could have modified that into a Transformer, what an amazing monstrosity it would have been

That'll be the next crossover San Diego Comic-Con exclusive. The Flag repainted to represent Broadside.

To be honest I think my Broadside will be FP Warbot Assaulter. He's one of the few early 3P pieces that's aged really well, and the change from actual aircraft carrier into a kind of space-cruiser-thing makes a lot more sense to me.

I'll have to try that out! Wasn't sure what to do with the tiny buggers in bot mode so I put them in the jet cockpit.
Now Broadside has spurs that jingle jangle jingle.

That's how I see TR Broadside's jet mode. To me, it's less of a one-man single-piloted small aircraft and more of a gigantic, multi-personnel, space cruiser/warship/starship-type spacecraft with jet-like attributes in its design, while the Carrier Mode is a "Space Carrier" akin to Space Battleship Yamato, but with the dual purpose of functioning both in space and on planetary oceans. 8-)

Sixshot is to me the epitomy of Irony in this fandom. A few years ago everythi g had to be more Geewun. Now here he is, slavishly G1, and he is as underwhelming as any of the other bricks.

Me, I love him, the fact that he is so slavishly G1 SixShot. But my favoritist part, is that he does exactly what I have wanted from the TR line on the first place: you can transform the head without having to remove the little head dude. Seriously, a swiveling Neck, and the whole thing collapses in without ever havibg to remove Revolver. so many Headmasters in this line could have been optional, Like Galvatron (who WASNT a Headmaster) or Skullcruncher, if they had transformed him the same way as SixShot.

And I agree, the tank is eh. The Submarine looks more like a sailboat, and the guns are quite thin for hmsuch a blocky dude. And I do wish there was something we could have done with the arms in his jet mode to make them look less like arms, but I still quite like his Jet, Wolf, Car, and Robot Modes. (what are you talking about the wings? They work fine.) I don't have any problems with his Knees, although the arms are kinda loose.

He's the only Leader I have bought since Megatron and Magnus. I will probably end up getting a PMOP at some point, but I am in no hurry and want to see what the Boxset Prime looks like. I skipped the Seekers since they never struck me as hugely imposing characters and I have a complete set of the original 6 Classic Deluxes.

I also skipped Soundwave and Blaster. 10 years ago when I was into the Roleplay and the Real Gear stuff, I woulda been all over Boombox Transformers. Now? Notso much. And while I know a lot of people hate Prime Soundwave, no one will convince me that a Predator Drone is NOT the most suitable alt mode for the manipulative spy and dataminer Soundwave.

I am on the fence about Sky Shadow. He is not a character I am attached to or think needs to be huge, but he is an impressive figure. I am DEFINATELY getting OverLord though.

They may click in fine, but with the arms there in jet mode they do not work. They are either incapable of being tabbed down, they do tab down but move the arms out of place and I fear scratching the silver painted wings and stickers, and the arms won't stay in place in jet mode.

And the knees on this thing are so loose. he just can't stand in many poses

I personally have my shelf so packed loose knees don't matter, not that mine has them (just the left is slightly weaker), but if that's a problem, never touch Quickswitch.

I am still befuddled. The tab that clicks the wings flat is an alignment issue from the vector rendering. It os just a hair out of alignment and takes a forceful snap to go into place. Bit I dont see how thT fubars the arms at all. Mine snap in beutifullly. Althougg I do worry about stressing that tab. Gonna have to look at my SixShot when I get home.

I love my Sixshot.

His alternate modes aren't convincing, but they look functional. If you're an IDW fan, that makes sense. He's a phase sixer, he's not for infiltration, he's for devastation. Come in, kill everything, move on. Roll over it, plow through it, shoot it down, blast it, bomb it, or tear it apart. It's what he's built to do. Adding construct-bots swords makes for a nice touch though, admittedly.

As far as the USS Flagg => Broadside, I think it's been done by customizers a couple of times now. e.g. https://www.allspark.com/forums/topic/9 ... broadside/

The arms won't stay still in the jet mode. they will not stay in their slots. they keep rotating because the wings bump them because of the tank treads, but when the tank treads aren't there, the arms rotate freely and the jet mode will not work

PM Optimus can also do this. He's not a headmaster in my collection ha ha.
There's a cheap shapeways upgrade that fixes Galvatron's head to his body and folds it into his chest. (You know, the way the designers intended back before he got gimmicked)

I love the prime soundwave mold, but not as soundwave. He's my beast machines Jetstorm. Looks good next to gen tankor and the machine wars strika and obsidion set.

Yeah I got the same sort of thing around here with Broadside. I saw (and bought) a single Broadside, months ago now, in amongst a couple Wave 2 Voyagers - and I've never seen him since, though admittedly not a single one of my local stores has made any move to restock their Voyagers since then either so maybe it just hasn't rolled out properly yet. Funny though, that a single figure would turn up and nothing else - considering that, from what I can tell, this is one of the chains (Big W) that obtains and stocks entire cases per store so I would've thought I'd see at least two. Who knows.

(And yeah, I saw much the same thing with leaders overall too. A couple PMOPs and Blasters around Christmas time, and then suddenly in January, BAM 40 Skywarps all immediately on sale for 25% off. Like, literally forty, in one store. I counted. Somehow I get the feeling I won't be seeing any new leaders any time soon.)

Sabrblade wrote:Hey guys, you know how Broadside's carrier mode has pegs for the little Aerialbot jets on it? I just found out that Broadside's jet mode also has pegs for those little jets, some of these pegs are only found in Jet Mode. Meaning you can put the little Aerialbots all over Broadside's Jet Mode in addition to his Carrier Mode, which means that if the Aerialbots are meant to represent the sizes of normal jets, then Broadside's Jet Mode ain't no normal-sized jet. His Jet Mode's a biggun!

I actually only just noticed that the other night too! Combined with some careful positioning of his wings (so that the outer edges are parallel with the jet's sides - it makes them look surprisingly less wimpy), and of course the obligatory reversal of tailfins, it makes me like his jet mode considerably more again! It's almost tolerable, now.

Now if only there were also pegs on his robot-mode outer arms so he could lauch miniature jets off his wrists, that would be super-cool... :x

You know what's funny about the tiny Aerialbots? If you flip them over they still have all the robot kibble on the bottom. Tiny little arms and legs.
I think they literally took the C.A.D. models of their alt modes, scaled them down to "tiny", and made the molds.

No need to think, that what john Warden said they did :) Or something along those lines.

So, am I the only one that has Broadside, but left the itty-bitty aerialbots on their spru (sprue, sprew)? They are a nice touch, but I really have no use for them since I mainly display everything in robot mode and don't want to lose them.

I've left them on their sprue as well for now. I don't wanna risk losing them.

It'll be very interesting to see what Takara Tomy will do with Broadside. If they include the Aerialbots, which I would assume they would, will they go to the trouble of trying to paint them up a bit? They've already shown they're not shy about doing some nice paint detailing on the tiny Titan Master faces so far with their recent Transformers Legends releases.

I've taken mine off the sprue simply because I'm not the kind of guy to pass up a potential play feature. Sure most of the time they're just sitting there on my desk (and I somehow haven't lost any yet, though I'm probably tempting fate by saying that), but every once in a while when I put Broady into aircraft carrier mode - or "jet" mode, now that I've noticed the pegs in that mode - it's fun to position the Aerialbots all around and make it feel more like a populated and functional vehicle.

But yeah, I can understand not wanting to take them off if you don't have that compulsive need to try every available play feature. As long as you're enjoying your toy how you want, that's what counts! ;)^

At the very least, I imagine they'd paint each Aerialbot the right general color (i.e. red/white for Fireflyight, grey/black for Skydive, etc). I don't know if they'd do much finer detailing than that (remembering, of course, that these Aerialbots are way smaller than even TMs, and HasTak often has some trouble with paint precision even at the best of times), but it's always possible. At the very least, I think Takara will either paint each 'bot the right basic color, or just not include them at all - after all, they're non-integral and non-G1. Maybe they'd swap them out for a new-tooling axe or something? Who knows.

Anyways, I've just run my routine sweep of my local stores, and it looks like they're all getting ready to restock post-Easter! Two of the three don't have any new TFs but there are lots of employees going 'round with huge carts of boxes restocking various toys, so I imagine it's just a matter of time. But the third store... the third store, when I walked in, just BAM had a Voyager Megatron and Optimus on the shelf!

Well, technically the Optimus was in the process of being taken by a boy, but the point stands. I would've LOVED to grab that Megs right then and there - he's probably one of my most anticipated TR figures from the past few months if I'm being honest - but I already have an online preorder, from way back in December. A preorder which still says "March ETA", and for which I still haven't received any kind of shipping notice or word whatsoever. Bleh.

But, yeah! Being optimistic. Wave 3 Voyagers, spotted at Kmart, they're probably making their way around Australia as I speak type. With any luck Wave 4 Deluxes/Legends/Titan Masters aren't too far behind, since I've been seeing Wave 3 of each of those classes for a while now. Fingers crossed!

Also I absolutely wasn't going to get that Optimus but his deco just looked delicious in person. If I see another one around, I might end up getting it on top of Octane and probably boxset-G2-Prime. No I don't have a problem.

I hafta admit, Qwan, G2 boxset Prime is more fun than expected! But no replacement for the original. :BOT:

Ooh, he does look lovely. Those golden-orange stickers actually look really nice on the back of his legs!

The original plan was to leave mass-retail Optimus on the shelf, get Octane to replace the tired old U2.0 Deluxe, and then get G2 Prime with the rest of the boxset. But a combination of geography and laziness means I'm not too sure if I'm going to get that boxset any more, and regular OP just looked so great in person despite the fact that I already planned on having the base mold twice (including one (basically) same-character straight-redeco!) that I'm starting to reconsider. In a perfect world, I'll get Octane and the Velocitron set, and never see OP-classic again so I'm not tempted; but Plan B is probably gonna be ending up with all three of them now.

But if you like Nautica, Li'l Rodimus and the rest, it's fun!

Oh Bodrock, that last image makes me fall apart. Of all the deaths in MTMTE, Skids' hits me the hardest. Now whenever i hear that song, I won't be able to keep it together.

Gotta say, Skids' death didn't do anything for me. But that's because I knew his days were numbered.
He was dead the moment he stole brainstorm's girl. ;)

RIP George Michael & Skids

In Loving Memory of Saxophones...

But his death hit me too, Nemesis Maximo -- I'm still hoping there's someway he isn't gone, but I don't think so. :(

And LE0KING, Brainstorm's girl?!? I guess it would have been quite a love triangle -- if Brainstorm had Skids' moves. ;)
