Top 5 Best Female Transformers (Fembot) Toys
We had covered the top 5 female transformers characters a looooooong time ago. And it was suggested we also cover the best Transformer toys made for female characters. Now, I was a bit apprehensive because, from my memory, that would be a very short list. But we've come a long way from the days where the gender was only decided in the fiction after a non gender specific toy was done. We've even had 2 fully female combiner teams. So let's have fun and get to it!
5. Transformers Animated Arcee
We often get sleeker versions of earth based cars (like Cybertron Hotshot) that don't capitalize on the potential of designing vehicles from other worlds. This one totally fits the bill though. Unlike so many other alt modes, it bravely crosses the line between being a futuristic design to a full blown cybertronian one. It is a great homage to G1 Arcee which is followed through in robot mode and I like the added massive spoilers in the back. That detail gives it enough variation from the traditional Arcee model. Too bad it has exposed hands in vehicle mode though. Props go for it having that signature Arcee backpack without going the easy route and making this a shellformer. - William-james88
4. Unite Warriors Mega Empress (central element of Megatronia, Takara's version of Victorion)
While this is a retool of Hotspot, the new chest, hands, combiner bits and head completely change the identity of the mold. The chest manages to be subtly feminine, the headsculpt is excellent with its classic finned helmet and noble, elegant face, and the hands are definitely female whilst still looking powerful. The holdovers from the original mold work well too, with the massive shoulder pauldrons making her look suitably imperious and her gauntleted hands and booted feet looking properly brutal. On top of that, you can fold the "ladder" over her shoulder or under her arm to form her railgun, which is a feature she does in the fiction.
Megaempress is decked in a very Megatron silver, black and red colour scheme with hints of dark grey and some magenta for the combined mode.
Her greatest triumph, however, is that she takes the old chestnut of "What if (insert character here) was a girl?" and makes it work! The toy looks great, is a lot of fun to play with, AND she's a combiner torso- and a damn good looking one to boot! All Hail Megaempress! - Black Hat

3. Transformers MP-46 Masterpiece Blackwidow (Blackarachnia)
This is easily the best representation we've ever had of Blackarachnia, who I find to be the best female character in the entire Transformers franchise. The paint is sublime and I can see where all my money went since the robot mode is perfect. However as a Transformers toy, it falls a bit short since there isn't much to the transformation and the beast mode is nothing to write home about. But all around, it is still a toy I am happy to own in my collection and I recommend it to any Blackarachnia and fembot fan. -William-james88
2. Transformers Legends Arcee/Nightbird Shadow
It is great to see a deluxe come with so many accessories and different places to store them in both robot mode and vehicle mode (the vehicle mode storage where Arcee’s robot hands hold a gun into place is really clever). While this is not a masterpiece, it looks exactly like the G1 cartoon model. Especially with the softer Takara deco which looks like it is made of delicious candy. For those who don’t know, this is the only toy from this line (Thrilling 30) to be designed partly by Takara instead of simply Hasbro. Since this is the very first toy of G1 Arcee, Takara felt it would be a disservice for it to be an update to her G1 self, which is the theme of the Generations line (and all the other “classics” lines.) So they stepped in and made her design reflect her G1 self as much as they could. That dedication and passion makes this toy extra special.- William-james88
1. Transformers Beast Machines Blackarachnia (Black Widow)
Even with the MP out, this remains one of the better Blackarachnia figures. I really like the transformation, which gives us a great spider mode even though the details don't match up perfectly with the show. And it gives us the multiple eyes gimmick in robot mode too. I find it the best toy done for a female character, emphasizing the different body type a female Cybertronian could have. It's just a well done toy all around, conveying the essence of the character and the biotech theme of the show, regardless of its accuracy. - William-james88
Honourable mention: Takara Transformers Adventures TAV-52 Strongarm and Sawback (Battle Pack Strongarm from Robots in Disguise)
I really like Strongarm's design. While she is female, she doesn't have the typical fembot physique, and instead is more in line with the classic boxy image of Transformers. And doesn't that make more sense? While her warrior class toy was not one of the standouts in the line, her two smaller toys were pretty great. Her Legion toy was already on our top 10 list for that class and now I would like to highlight her Battle Pack class toy. Especially the Takara version which had the best deco of all Stong Arm toys. In a line that fans first feared to be simpler, these Battlepack toys had the perfect articulation and complexity to go with the size. I find it remarkable how the designers were able to achieve the same bot and alt mode in this smaller scale.

I am not a huge fan of either. Also really doesnt help that legends blackarachnia's torso was missassembled.

5. 2007 movie Arcee, I love the head sculpt and really like her biker boots.
4. Legends Nightbird, Great toy beautiful colors.
3. Combiner Hunters Windblade, That figure is gorgeous in both modes. It gets flack for the heels but they're not as bad as people make them out to be.
2. Legends/Animated Black Arachnia, my only issue with the entire figure is the elbows pointing in.
1. Transformers prime RID Arcee (+any of the repaints) The best official fembot mold ever made in my opinion. Graceful transformation and beautifully articulated, I have every version of the mold except Flamewar, and that's just because she's so expensive.

SDCC Chromia is one of the best toys and paint jobs ever!!!!!!! She is one of my all time favorites!!!!!!
I can't believe she isn't on your list WJ.
She should be on every list ever made!!!!!!!!
The original Chromia is good too.
Great list WJ. Thanks! All very good choices! ...... (except for the blaring omission of Chromia!!!!!) ... (the best toy ever made!!!) (Okay, one of the best toys every made.)

They would be tied for 1st on my list. I would have 5, 4, 3, 1, 1 on my list.

Haha thanks. And yeah, Chromia is a good toy. She's from the arcee mold others really like too and I much preffer that version of Chromia to the more recent one we got. Oddly enough, while that RID arcee base mold is more show accurate I actually like the first edition Prime Arcee toy better. It has a really interesting transformation for the torso.
As for Windblade, I just don't see it. The deco on the SDCC set is nice, for sure, but I just have lots of issues with the base mold. I mean, at least enough to preffer the other toys I mentionned.

But joking aside, I'm glad that my #1 is Beast Machine Blackie. She is really the "sexiest" fembot that have the creepiest altmode with barely any shellforming. Truly a feat.
But I would have replaced MP Blackie because her altmode is way too bad by RiD Prime Arcee and her mold mates. Her bike mode is sublime while her bot mode is show accurate as it possibly can. I especially like her Beast Hunters remoldings.

I know these lists are only for the mainlines, but Botcon Flamewars take Prime Beast Hunters Arcee to new levels of sexiness/badass levels:

Flamewars is one of my favorite fembot ever and I'm very glad to have bought her when her price was "only" like a retail leader class figure.

1) TM 2 Blackarachnia
Personally, although I loathe the character, I think the best Blackarachnia toy was TM 2. Obviously there is the.. weird and unnecessary, chest plate removal thing. But aside from that, unlike the MP, she actually looks interesting (and solid) in both forms.
3) Beast Machines Strika
I'd add Strika, chiefly because not every Fem Bot design should lend itself to a Kiss Player aesthetic. Plus, as is typical of the Vehicon line, she's a really good figure.
4) TF Prime Arcee
Echoing other sentiments, I think Prime Arcee was one of the highlights of the entire line. The history of Cycle-Bots visually has always been very hit and miss. She's a definite hit.

My list from the figures I have:
5) Prime Beast Hunters Arcee
4) Cybertron Override
3) Power of the Primes Elita-1
2) Titans Return Windblade
1) Animated Arcee
Honorable Mentions: Robots in Disguise Warrior Strongarm, Thrilling 30 Arcee, Beast Wars Sonar, Masterpiece Blackarachnia
I don't own FE Arcee in any capacity, nor the smaller Strongarm and Beast Machines Blackarachnai. Animated Blackarachnia is OK but needed some work, her spider mode is strong. I don't own an Airazor toy (yet).
If I owned Beast Hunters Ripclaw I feel like she would quality for this list too, that seems to be a great toy.

Your list has excellent figures. It is funny how some draw backs bother some people and other people can just over look them. Some people have lots of issues with Windblade, if I remember correctly she is a pretty polarizing toy. The draw back just don't bother me, my brain just happily ignores them. I love the colors, figure, and alt mode. Great as a statue.

That's pretty high praise! I like it though, it means you all really value the transforming and alt mode aspect.
I think why it doesnt resonate as much with me personally is because I actually preffer the first edition toy, though just by a bit. But that alone made it feel a tad less unique. Also, I experienced her amidst the rest of the Prime line and by comparison she was just average. She was not a contender on my list for best Prime toys and she only came up once in all the comments.
But good news, I have yet to do a top 5 Arcee list
Glad TMII Airrazor was mentioned as that was on my shortlist. Another one that hasnt been mentioned yet is Beast Machines Night Viper. I LOVE that toy, but she already got the spotlight a few times on my lists.

Why thank you! Full disclosure, I don't own either of those figures, my knowledge of them just comes from pictures, videos and word-of mouth. And IMO, PRID Arcee is a bit more well-rounded as a figure than MP Blackarachnia (though Blackarachnia definitely wins in robot mode).
And I'll definitely be looking forward to that Arcee list (presumably towards the end of the year).

5. Beast Machines Blackarachnia-might be the best Maximal toy from BM.
4. RID 2015 Strongarm-pretty good overall, backpack drags it down a little.
3. TF:A Arcee-Overall a pretty good mold. Might be one of the best Arcee molds made.
2. Masterpiece Blackarachnia-Looks great, fun to play with. They did the best job they could with the alternate mode, IMHO, and it doesn't even look all that bad.
1. TF:P Arcee, First Edition. Just fantastic overall.

Not at all. I use honourable mentions for toys that wouldnt be in the list, ever, but that I still want to mention since they might not be mentioned otherwise. Arguing over who should be an honourable mention is pointless since its still agreeing that they didnt make the cut anyway.

Not exactly a candidate for the best toy as she's just a redeco of G1 Nightbeat, but I'd like to give a shoutout to G1 Minerva for being IIRC the first ever female Transformer toy (not counting retroactive genderswaps like Freezon). I really hope we get a new Minerva that isn't just a head at some point.
I'm also mildly mad there still isn't a good figure of Strika; the OG is kinda small, the BotCon exclusive is not only an exclusive but also still a bit puny, and there's precisely one 3P option, which good as it is has become unobtainable.

RID Strongarm definitely deserve a "MP" toy.
As for Minerva/Minelba, I gave a 3P version on preorder. Still waiting for an official one, of course. I know I'll never have G1 Minelba because of the absurd price, but at least I got my G1 Nightbeat. So, close enough I guess.

I'm all for a new Nightbeat, but Minelba should be her own mold. Because no male transformers can be repainted with these curves:
Even then, there's the "Arcee" problem.
3P is making one but she have an obvious giant backpack. Make me think that with some severe remolding, a MP Minerva could be done using the MP Arcee frame. Same thing with a Generations one using ER Arcee.

Well, skinny guys are indeed a thing, but I rather have Minerva be her own mold. As for Nightbeat, he could be mold mate with Siren.
Stiiiiiiiiiil, looking at my G1 Nightbeat and Siren side-by-side, Nightbeat is definitely skinnier and smaller than Siren.
On second thought, Minerva and Nightbeat could definitely be mold mates.
And why not having a R63 Nightbeat while we're at it?
