I’m not a fan of this show. It tries to be 80s too hard and fails.

Like in season 2 when someone was dressed up like Josh Brolins character from Goonies...a year before that movie was released. And like in season one when one of the kids had a poster for John carpenters The Thing poster on their wall. A movie was a financial and critical failure and almost ruined his career and didn’t get popular till the 90s(one of my personal favorite movies btw but I digress)

You forgot the D&D piece that showed up in the 1st season, that didn't even exist until the year after that season took place.

could be the same universe as Goldbergs where space is warped and time is bendable

Cue the third party add ons to make G1 Ultra Magnus walk...
No kid would have left the missile launchers on that way in Robot mode either
Second series was a bit predictable and bland with the exception of the weird semi awful Arrow style episode with 'punk' eleven but this might be better.
Def tries to hard and Steve has lost the power of his awesome hair.

Stop excusing garbage continuity that shoves crap from the 80s to be hip and ride the hipster band wagon

Oh I'm not excusing it, if anything I am mocking it, any time you see a quote from MST3K on the internet it's always out of mockery

my mother has a theory for Goldbergs, that the show isn't accurate to the year because, it's how the creator remembers the time and memory is very faulty

THIS SHOW IS HISTORICALLY INACCURATE BECAUSE THE ULTRA MAGNUS THAT APPEARS FOR FEW SECONDS WASN'T RELEASED UNTIL A YEAR AFTER THIS SEASON IS SET IN AND THEREFORE I CANNOT WATCH IT!!111!!!1111111!!!!!

I like the show, despite the inaccuracies. It's still pretty fun, even if Dustin is f**king annoying. I'm looking forward to season 3, time-traveling Magnus and all.

That said I think this is a fun little cameo, captures the spirit of playing with whatever toys you have despite them missing whatever pieces which is the actual important part. My wife will almost definitely watch this season and this is a scene I'll look for while this plays in the background during some Gunpla time or something

By the way, how many movies, films or series are absolute accurate? You can cross a lot off, tell you.
This show on Netflix is made for the nostalgic fun of it, and not to represent the exaxt facts of that timeperiod.
So what does it really matter if it's a year or 2 that Ultra Magnus actually came out... it's just cool to see that they used him in the serie's and we should be glad to see him. I only wished they had used more transformers toys in movies. Like in "The Flight of the Navigator" (starring Sarah Jessica Parker) for example

It's not? I was sure this was to give a faithful re-enacment of the time a psychic girl saved the US from an extra dimensional invasion.

That happens all the time
