Seibertronians, we've got a cool little piece today, thanks to user Cyberpath. Hasbro Transformers designer Emiliano Santalucia has recently shared some new toy concept art via his Facebook page. These are the early incarnations of the Titan's Return Voyager Galvatron and Leader Class Powermaster Optimus Prime. Check the rough drafts out down below, and then take a look at the finished products by swinging by Seibertron's galleries of the two figures. (We've included a couple down below already, just for comparison.)

So what do you think of these new concept drawings? Do you think they look better or worse than what we got? What elements of the designs do you think Hasbro should have included that they didn't? What would you have left out? Tell us in the Comments!

Plus, it's literally a digibash of the Hot Rod stock art. I don't know why the hell Hasbro would use that for their design sheets, especially since every design sheet we've seen so far has the bots in a neutral standing pose.

Because I'm such a number nut, here are the project numbers for some more figures:

#336483: Mindwipe
#336484: Wolfwire

#345561: Hot Rod
#345562: Doublecross
#345563: Triggerhappy
#345564: Getaway

#345576: Megatron
#345577: Optimus Prime

If you spot any of these someplace else, it's fake :)

Considering exclusives are usually straight redecos, that wasn't really one of my concerns.

I never once claimed it wasn't fake. Just saying I saw it.

And I don't care enough to look at the project numbers, let alone remember them. Just thought folks would be interested in seeing Arcee from the Rodimus mould, since a fake bash of her from Chromedome was doing the round.

While that does look terrible...there is potential there. With some good retooling, I think they could make that work.

Cheets got a lot of positive feedback for that, especially for its deviating from the (stereo)typical "super model" fembot look that Hasbro's been so accustomed to giving us over the years.

Thing is, that works... for a new female character. Much in the same way Strongarm and Pyra Magna work.
But it doesn't really fit Arcee who has always been characterised visually as very athletic and lithe. She's not exactly what you'd imagine as a generic soldier or a tank. then again I've never liked arcee outside of TFP so whatever

Guys, I got a crazy idea. How about we just make a new mold? I know I know, its nonsense.

Kiddin aside, if we do get another Arcee, I would rather it be an IDW arcee. I always liked how the artists made it to that the car front splits in half, creating that silouette on the back. Looks like a fun transformation. And anyway, I think we already know all the Titans Return toys coming out right?

Does anyone out there have a breakdown of what to expect from wave 1-wave 4 2017 for the generations line based on the rumours?

Wait, what? As far as I know, Voyagers aside we only know up to and including TR Wave 4. I didn't know that there was any info on the deluxes, legends, titan masters and leaders in Waves 5 and 6. ... though it's a pretty easy bet that Frenzy and Eject will be there, at least. And I think we had some miscellaneous ones scattered about like Delta Magnus but nothing about a full wave's contents.

Ok, so simple question: which wave is perceptor supposed to come out in?

Yeah, that's an odd one. Wave 4's Kup, Topspin (or Twin Twist, I forget), Quake and Krok, right? So Perceptor's either in Wave 5, 6, or a special boxset but the latter is very unlikely since that's usually reserved for redecoes and retools and apparently he's supposed to be a new mold and blaaaah.
... so yeah, either 5 or 6. More likely 5 bc it doesn't make a lot of sense we'd get info on Wave 6 before Wave 5.

See, we do have more info than just half of next year ;)

Theres also that Bumblebee redeco as Chase thats unacounted for unless its in the second 2017 legends wave with Seaspray and Cosmos. Also he leader class might not have a lot of releases. This year only has 4 new Leader class TFs and we already know 2 of the ones coming out next year.

There are also too many titan masters rumoured for just one extra wave:

Repugnus (C1100)
Shuffler (C1101)
Ramhorn
Toraiser
Optimus Prime

I totally agree. I got Nightbird instead of the Generations figure because if I get any G1-ish Arcee it would be MMC's IDW figure.
I would like an Elita One out of Blurr though. I think that is more important than a Headmaster Arcee.

I'd not say not to the Diaclone / Movie test footage colour Ultra Magnus from the Combiner Wars Mould but would it be more likely for him to be a hybrid of Optimus and Magnus Parts ? with a Titanmaster instead of a Minion-driver.

Perhaps this is a case where they could make good use of the platinum brand as they did with the larger Ultra Magnus (weaponiser Optimus redeco) - which reminds me I totally forgot to buy that thing.

------

As for Arcee Blurr with a few minor part changes is the obvious choice for Arcee assuming she doesn't get a new mould.

I'd raise a slight eyebrow at a Chromedome repaint - but I'd at least understand why it's like that for historical reasons.

But if they did release that as a chromedome repaint - I think the existing Generations Arcee would be quite safe on people's shelves still.

-------

I got my SDCC Fort Max today - I cry False Advertising as he didn't come in the cool American shipping case with the face of Maximus on it - it was just a regular Hasbro shipping case with his name slapped all over it - like it was a case of My little Pony toys or a box of ferbies.

Lame. so he's not so much an "actual "SDCC exclusive as he is a UK retailer special order specific release/re-release of the same toy.

So a bit like a GDO item really.

Funny place to start a collection with the biggest item as he's my First Titan's Returns toy (not counting CW Legends Buzzsaw).

It might be November before I get some more as that is when they usually have a decent sale and when shops actually bother getting some stock in after Firework night & Halloween is out of the way and they can start gearing up for Xmas proper.

Oh yeah, since I got Chromedome that's me finally starting my TR collection.

He's... not bad. Funnily enough I never got Dead End or any of his moldmates before so this is my first time experiencing the engineering. He's a bit weaker than expected, but overall a really solid figure. Nothing special but he easily fills the MTMTE Chromedome spot.

Two things though:-
-The guns are utter crap. I just... I really don't like them. There's something really off about them when trying to peg into a hand or other slot that just doesn't feel as right as other pegs. And they really don't look good either.
-Stylor is TINY. Like... oh my gosh. I was expecting them to be small but not this small! Not saying it as a bad thing I just find it really hilarious. How were they able to get that much sculpted detail on something so small?

The gun can slot in on the roof - some people are hesitant to use that placement though for fear of harming the paint - I'd be tempted to get the Takara and Hasbro one both and then just lend either or the two smaller guns.

The guns are not made to be held side by side since your right, it does look as good as a CW jet with both weapons under each wing
Instead, you shouuld seat your titanmaster inside the bigger gun, and attach the smaller gun on top of the larger gun. Like that it becomes a turret :)

Yes, he will be part of a box set with some clones, a voyager, another deluxe and a new titan master. I forget which set he comes in, its somewhere in this thread.

I thought that rumor was a repaint of Powermaster Prime with Godbomber(Iron Apex)?

If they didn't insist on painting themselves into corners with their gimic lines so much they could have sold God Bomber as a Voyager - I suppose you still could say he's kind of a triple changer if they gave him an armoured car mode and a robot mode and a the ability to disguise some of his parts to look like part of optimus' trailer + the addition of the ability to pull to pieces to combine with Optimus.

They can either count the combination as a 4th mode or ignore it and say he has 3 (one of which is a trailer) if they were clever about it it might even be possible to combine him with Magnus as well so they can get a repaint out of it too.

I can't see any other way to do it that wouldn't just be kinda disappointing.
Optimus isn't up to much as he is so something that added play value would help - a lot especially if the pieces can expand the some what lacking Optimus base mode too.

Yeah....it's a pity that Takara never reinstated it! coz it would've filled in that ugly gap! instead they just added & gave him platform shoes ;)

Trypticon was already officially revealed; adding it would be like adding Hot Rod or Megatron. Scorponok and Omega Supreme would not be part of Titans Return.

I didn't miss them because they're not rumored. Trypticon is coming out for sure and the other two are speculated based on the fan vote. Those aren't rumors.

Trypticon is confirmed, not rumored. And the other 2 are rumored to come, but they won't come in this line most likely

Y'know....i'm surprised that one character they haven't yet visited with the Titans Returns.......is Sideways
mvmr_armada_sideways_by_starshot_seeker.jpg

coz they could take CW Deluxe Groove, repaint & slighltly remold it to add the TM feature (i mean they've already slightly remolded it as Afterburner)...& voila! you have Sideways

Ya know Stu, you keep throwing stuff out here and I like this one. It is interesting they haven't done anything with Sideways.

Now where is my IDW Sunstreaker fellas..

I NEED a Sideways. Seems more like a Ehobby thing though. :(

Wait. MAGNUS Prime? Any speculation on what that would be?

I could be down with a Laser Prime Voyager TM with eHobby G2 Magnus deco and a different head. Sometimes exclusive boxed sets like that have a figure or two that veer into eHobby type territory.

It would be like Delta Magnus, a red and blue repaint of Ultra Magnus

Oh and Steal your goats, thanks for the list. Isn't a redeco of voyager triple changer prime supposed to be in one of those sets too?

That's not a digibash. That's an actual fan custom figure fully painted by Cheetimus Primal.

Actually, they did a bit more than that.

His powermasters were somewhat integral to the transformation in that they unlocked the tank section to split into the legs, and unlocked the arms in the jet mode. Granted you could totally press the buttons in the slots yourself without the powermasters, but they did have that function.

Hate to ask, are you sure? The video review I saw led me to believe that the bits just came apart

I'd wager a Sustreaker Headmaster, along with Sideways and Animated Headmaster are all characters that would be a great fit for this line that I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro never even considered.

- Sunstreaker seems perfect as a standalone Titan Master. His head is very signature, much like Grimlock or Brawn. The IDW homage would be nice.

- The same goes for Animated Headmaster.

- I think Sideways would work well sharing tooling with a new version of Wreck Gar for this line. Wreck Gar could use a beefier Deluxe representation and I could see a mold being designed that works for both Wreck Gar and Sideways, with only modest retooling.

- As for Arcee, I half wonder if the best option isn't just a retooling of her Generations mold with a new head. I'd actually just vote calling the U.S. release of her Titan master partner Plasma (and IDW Beast Wars character who claimed to be all of the Witwicky's) while the Takara release could be Daniel. Plasma is also the name of the RiD/Car Robots version of Headmaster Spike Witwicky so it's a deep cut reference.

I agree very much with all of what you said. There are some characters who fit this line so well that maybe haven't even been considered

There are more rumblings in the Transformers rumour network, as fellow fansite TFW2005's Mr Chaos finds more listings for potential upcoming figures. Today's offering are two leader class figures for the Titans Return line, supposedly to arrive after Six Shot: Overlord and Sky Shadow!

Two new product listings from my friend. While his work doesn't carry Leader figures for Titans return yet (they are still stuck with Combiner Wars stuff) I was able to get him a UPC for Titans Return and he got me two listings: Leader Class Overlord (C2388) and Leader Class Sky Shadow (C1104)

Overlord was pretty much expected but Sky Shadow was a surprise. As always I have no clue what the figures look like, only that they are listed to come after Sixshot.

We had been teased something of the Overlord kind at BotCon, as you can see from the images below, and we may have heard something about the other Phase Sixer in the past, but what do you make of this new info? Speculate and discuss away in the Energon Pub!

Let's give them the benefit of the doubt, OK? They've already proven their interest in obscure Headmaster characters like Lione, I'm sure they're as aware of their options as we are.
