We Should Get Our First Glimpse at TF7 Rise of the Beasts in December + More Scenes to be Shot

It's been real quiet on the Rise of the Beasts front. Hasbro even explicitly specified that there would be no Rise of the Beasts news made public for a while, at least on their end. However, that will change in a bit more than a month's time. Sources from Peru, where a big part of the filming occurred, have stated that the marketing campaign for the film should start in December. We don't know if that means a teaser or just some images in a movie magazine. But we will get a look at the film in some way, and the toys too, from what was posted.

The first steps to the promotion of "The Awakening of the Beasts" officially begin. From today to December details of mkt campaigns in the region will be fine-tuned. And December kicks off strong with everything concerning toys and the movie's early previews.

We know that Hasbro does have marketing material for the toys available with mock ups for the retail space, but we don't know when that will be shown in full either.

We also know the the film is not finished yet, which is normal for a film over 7 months out. Additional scenes are yet to be filmed, and some of those scenes will feature US rapper Toby Nwigwe, who anounced it in this video below:

Hopefully you will indeed hear from us again come December where there will be even more to discuss.

Pretty exciting to see what will be said, can't wait to see the movie itself either. Seems like a lot of people had fun making it.

Yes, I really enjoyed the passion. Including the passion from Michael Bay himself who seemed far more relaxed and less on edge since he didn't have to direct the whole thing and was more of a passing observer, lending his hand when he could.

Cool! Glad to see we got something coming soon. Hate to get too excited but I definitely am intrigued by the potential with these new beastformer designs--I might dare say I have high hopes!

There was a presentation to investors a little while back and on one slide we could see an apparel display for the Transformers Rise of the Beasts film. TFW2005 got their hands on the presentation and so we now have a clearer image of that standee which gives us our first image of Primal, bigfoot style, so blurry. Eagle eyed fans also spot Mirage, Wheeljack and Arcee but they aren't as obvious as the chest pounding gorilla at the centre. So we had our look at Airazor, now Primal, and we probably will get more "first looks" with the marketing campaign starting next month.

If we just get a higher quality version of this display every month, I'm sure we can understand it by June!

Now this is what fans were waiting a long time for, that inevitable moment where merchandise leaks the character designs. In this case we get all the movie maximals at once: Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Airazor and Cheetor. We already got a great look at Airazor through her toy and the image here does indeed match what we saw but the others are mostly new. Primal is as everyone said, a reuse of that Bayverse Primal concept art from years ago (which you can see below). Cheetor however is very different from any previous concept art we've seen and adheres closer to the original material while still being more mechanical in appearance. And Rhinox has the appearance of rusted metal, something that was also previously said.

The designs are on a picture of a mug that was found in a licensed memorabilia boutique specializing in mugs. The original post is here.

Why would they alter the design of the Maximal Symbol?

That's how it looked on the Kingdom toy packaging.

One could ask the same of the 2007 movie and both faction symbols.

Making Rhinox that streamlined in his metal plating results in him looking a more like a Monoceratops. With maybe a bit of Tundro from the Herculoids.

Not complaining, in fact I'm glad they found a design that conveys "Rhinox" while being original enough that it doesn't evoke his Transmetal body or any other past rhino-formers.

I think it's the angle of the head in the picture. It almost makes it look like he has no neck and that the head connects directly to the torso, if that makes sense.

Looking closer, that Cheetor almost has a Beast Machines vibe to it.

FYI, major props for the Herculoids reference. Those were the good ol' days....

at least in beast wars they looked like the other animals. these do not pass for creatures that would blend in.

I only got acquainted with Alex Toth cartoons in '97, right before Toonami started, my last year of high school. Not many action cartoons where the heroes were a nuclear family; only The Bionic 6 and The Secret Saturdays spring to mind.

I guess the Beast Machines resemblance was inevitable when combining Beast Era designs with the sort of details we expect from Bayformers, but again I'm not complaining (oddly enough). The aesthetics were never one of the serious problems I had with the show, and comments on Airrazor's design seemed to agree that's what Silverbolt should've looked like, so maybe they'll all end up being improved versions of some past attempt attempt at techno-organimals.

Besides Cheetor looking a bit like a FNAF character (at least from this angle), these designs look really great. My favorite has to be Rhinox, he looks well designed instead of someone just randomly putting robot parts in the exact shape of an animal. Can’t wait for their figure reveals, they’ll look great next to their Kingdom counterparts.

Hopefully we also get some Terrorcon reveals soon, haven’t been hearing much about them.

No one said anything about blending in, that was never the intention in Beast Wars hence the giant insects and giant rat and dinosaurs roaming around. And in the 5 seasons these characters featured in, only 1 had them in these modes that seemed fully organic, so these designs are paying a more well rounded homage to all designs rather than just the season 1 look.

It's funny to think of it that way, and it's very true. I'm just counting down to when we get a trailer, which I'm guessing will happen around superbowl time.
