2 new Giant Transformers statues in China!

If you haven't noticed yet the Chinese love Transformers, with numerous conventions and toy expos the occasional car race in Bumblebee clones and of course giant statues made from metal.
Taking a bunch of junk and welding it together to construct giant Transformers statues seems to be something of a new national pas time in China as two new ones have popped up in the last few days.
The first is a statue made by a bunch of students that seems to be inspired by movie Optimus Prime:

This thing is 10 meters tall and stands at the Bird’s Nest at Beijing Olympic Park check out more images by clicking here.

So any guesses at when the Chinese start building real Transformers out of boredom?

Optimus Prime: Why is my head cartoon-ishly blocky?

Ninja Scourge! The reason why I say that is because the head reminds me of Scourge for some reason

If they do start building actual Transformers I doubt it'd be out of boredom. Imagine having a platoon of Transformers marching along with the Chinese army. Many surrenders.

The other one is Guan Yu, one of the three famous sworn brothers of the Three Kingdoms era. He's long been deified and worshipped by Chinese as the God of War and Martial Arts.

Actually, he's life size and then some. A meter is 3.28 feet. 10 meters puts him at 32.8 feet tall. The animation model, according to the game guide from the first movie, is 28-30 feet tall. So, yeah, this statue is actually life sized and then some.

And he looks incredible. I'm just so impressed by this guy, and I can't imagine what kind of work went into his construction. Whoever the people are, they are to be commended for such incredible talent.

My only crit, is that his antennae are a tad too long and more G1-ish, but that's so unimportant when he's that awesome.
