The Universal Studios Hollywood facebook page has shared additional images from yesterday's Transfomers: The Ride 3D grand opening. The ride officially opens today!
Man, looks like a great party! My friend lives in LA, I'll have to get him to go and get me an Evac figure.
I really want to know more about those Optimus and Bumblebee suits- like, are the arms/hands mechanical or are the actor's arms inside there, with perhaps slaved hands controlled by his own? The way he's holding that woman's face, it looks very natural, I'd say it must be a real person's hand controlling the suit's hand. not like inside a glove, but with cables attached to his hand and to the suit hand.
In which case the hands are static and the costumers' hands are probably in the bot's elbows, like I did with movie Brawl, but incorrectly (not enough of the weight was on my shoulders, so my arms got tired quick). They'll also be on stilts.
Our friend Ricky Brigante of Inside the Magic dropped by again with some new videos from the grand opening of Universal Studios Hollywood's Transformers: The Ride 3D. These videos feature interviews with voice actors Dustin Leighton (Evac), Frank Welker (Megatron), Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), and the ride's creators. We also get a looks at the ride's queue area and the ride itself complete with 3D binaural audio. To get the full scoop, including additional images and a review of the ride click here and here.
A new video has been posted on the Transformers Youtube page giving us another look into the Red Carpet event from the opening of Universal Studios Transformers: The Ride 3D which opened earlier this summer.
Check it out embedded below as many celebrities showed up and shared their excitement including Peter Cullen and Frank Welker.
