Combiner Wars Legends Wave 01 Video Review

Video reviewer chuckdawg1999 has brought us an anticipated review of Combiner Wars, the Legends Class, specifically. The first wave consists of Bombshell, Thundercracker, Windcharger and a triple changer version of Powerglide! Watch the embed below to see what the new figures have to offer and if any changes have been made to the previously released molds due to Combiner Wars integration. All that good stuff, plus Chuck's final thoughts on the figures can be seen with a click, so what are you waiting for?

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Well here we are, Hasbro's big Generations line for most of 2015, Combiner Wars. The Legends figures are a mix of repaints/retools into classic characters, new molds, and in the case of Powerglide, a triple changer. There really is something for everybody and I think the Legends figures compliment the larger scale figures quite nicely.

Thanks Chuck,

The only one I was looking forward to was Bombshell and he rocks...that is great to see. Powerglide on the other hand...

Seems like Hasbro always has to half ass something despite improved paint and updated molds. The Combiner limbs really should have stronger ratcheting hips to accommodate the lame duck that is Powerglide.

I'm shocked anyone could bash that Powerglide. It's really fantastic for the size class. Very complex, great proportions, accurate to the G1 cartoon and figure, articulated... Looks great here.

As for me, Bombshell would be my top pick I'm looking forward to. It looks flawless. I only wish we could get the trio larger, but (assuming a Kickback is coming), I think these will populate the Classics shelf nicely.

Reminds me... where was that Voyager class insecticon from Prime? I was waiting on that one... Would have been great in black and purple. :-?

Guess I'll have to add him to my robots-we-never-got list right under Animated Omega Supreme.

I know, Powerglide is awesome but those legs really take away from the figure. If it wasn't for the fact both the jet and weapon mode hinges on them for ascetic reasons I wouldn't mind so much. Upon further review I think if the peg is filed down it might stay in the slot better, but then you'll have a damaged Powerglide.

I never heard we were getting a voyager insecticon, that's news to me.

Definitely stocked for Bombshell and Powerglide, but it's a shame that PG is gonna be too heavy for the combiner's "elbow" joints while in gun mode.

Hopefully Superion is well enough articulated to hold Powerglide with two hands.

Powerglide on its own is about handgun size for Superion, when combined with the rifle you can twist the arms for a two handed pose, just not a good one.
