145.00.? Ouch...For that much it should come in a plastic matrix case not just a cardboard box..

I was expecting this to be about half that price... and BTW it's $140, not $145. This is way overpriced
, I'll rather keep my Metrodome G1 boxset for now. If this new boxset is actually the broadcast version and gets cheaper, then I'll buy it. Anyway, MadMan Entertainment is also realeasing a G1 boxset in June and it's going to cost $99.95 AU http://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalogue.do?releaseId=12001&method=view. If this one is also the broadcast version I'll consider this one instead. I better wait for reviews to both of them before any decision. But $140 no, thanks...

For anyone looking for the GI Joe set, that can be ordered through the same site.
While the GI Joe specific site is not yet up, click "Purchase" on the TF link and you can then select the Joe set there too. (and drop the TF set if you are not interested)

Oops. I was reading the news about the GI Joe boxset at the same time. My mistake.
Actually, it isn't. Most Complete Series sets run into that price range. By comparision...
-The Complete Series Box set for Sex and the City is $270
-The Complete Series Box set for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine are $385
-The Complete Series Box set for Stargate SG1 is $270
-The Complete Series Box set for Buffy the Vampire Slayer is $240
-The Complete Series Box set for Angel is $276
Compared to them, this is way cheap. Then again, that might be because this is an online sale. No doubt it'll cost more when it goes to stores.

What is the number of discs and episodes on those boxsets you're compraing the price to? Because I was comparing to other G1 boxsets with the same content and in some cases plus the 1986 movie. The Madman Entertainment release is much cheaper and I don't know exactly the Metrodome boxset initial cost but I paid for mine about $60-$70 including shipping costs in amazon, plus I also owned an asian boxset before which cost me about $50 or close, including shipping costs. I bought all brand new. This is my comparison for that $140 very high price in my opinion. The extras may not be the same though, but if they're extras the price should be for the series in first place. One thing they really have best is that it seems they've used the brodcast version. I have to find out if Madman also used the broadcast version, because if they did they have a better price, although with different extras.
This is just my opinion though, I find it too expensive, but I hope the boxset sells very well and it's a great one indeed.

That IS a bit steep...But I'll still buy it because it will clearly be the nicest release of the series ever...
And I can get a discount on it through my job

The Sex and the City set has 20. The Star Trek: TNG set has 49. The Buffy set has 40. The Angel set has 30. The TF set has 16. So compared to those sets, this set is actually cheaper when it comes to the number of discs.
The extras on this are the same as on the individual sets, with some exceptions, like the voice cast reuinion.

I saw a post on another message board that this set was Online Store exclusive. Is that true?
Also, what are the chances that Wal-Mart would get the set? Not likely I assume, but I work there so I'd have good reason to wait(discount!

For now, yes. Then it's available at San Diego Comic Con, then at retail stores.
