Good news. The GIJoe DVD issues from Rhino are crazy expensive. I won't miss out, this time. I already have the complete G1 Transformers series from Rhino, so not sure if I'll need to "trade up."
Where's the Blu-ray offerings, though? I and the other 100 people want to know?

I have waited years for this news. YES!!!!
Although I would love to see these on Blu-Ray, I really don't think the picture and audio quality can be improved much without some serious remastering. About the only advantage Blu would offer is the ability to fit more on one disc.

Well shoot...Guess I'll skip the Season One release and just grab the box-set if it's coming out before they actually release seasons two and three individually...

good i can finally get the gi joe set YO JOE!!!!!!
I already have the 20th anniversary china dvd set w/ movie so i wont buy the transformers g1 although i might just buy the bonus disk from eBay for the extra and psas

Hope they release the crucial details for the complete series box set before Season 1 is released, to decide if it's better to wait or go for Season 1 right away.
I also hope my local Wal-Mart gets it in, cause I'll most definitely use my discount for that.

I will definitely be getting the complete series from Shout Factory as oppose to getting the individual seasons on DVD.

but are these latest editions free of the god awful extra sounds like lasers and what not that we were treated to with the Rhino DVD or are they just same old shiz just with different packaging??

FINALLY!!! This is the best news of 2009 so far for me, indeed. Definitely gonna pick up the complete series boxset of G1(since i still refuse to watch it for the 1st time on youtube or other sources 
). As for G.I.JOE, i have all the Rhino sets except for the S2P2, and i'm hoping they'd release them by seasons. Unless they cleanup all the error on certain characters hair color and voices during the series(there were quite a few obvious ones), then i'll be still very excited on purchasing the complete boxset. However, only G1 got the confirmation on the complete series, where Joe is still a question mark...
