Dark of the Moon Skyhammer Instruction Variant

Posted by Razorclaw0000 Jun 7, 2011 at 12:24pm CDT 43,469 views
It looks like Crankcase isn't the only Dark of the Moon figure to have some variants. Thanks to Seibertron.com members Skyfire77, El Duque, and Razorclaw0000, we now have confirmed images of two instruction variants for Dark of the Moon Skyhammer.

In Skyfire77 and El Duque's instructions, the rotors are clearly shown to be removable:

However, in the instructions included in Razorclaw0000's Skyhammer, the rotors are left intact, with a dotted line representing where they would be, but allowing detail to be seen underneath.

Do you still have the packaging for your Skyhammer? If so, please post the product code embossed on the bottom edge of the back of the box and whether your instructions show the rotors detached or intact.

I also have instructions that show the rotors are removable but I was unable to remove them without pulling the pin. I thought that was a strange instruction.

Well, the box is long gone, but the code 10501 is embossed on the connector between the stub wings, along with a printed code #29702.

Mine shows the blade being removable, but I did not even try. Has 10501 on box and figure, along with #29702 stamped in red on the figure. Got him from Walmart day before release if it makes any difference.

I can totally see this as an updated version for G1
Spinister w/ a custom add-on kit for the 2 targetmasters and a head re-mold. Here's to hoping for one for HFTD Highbrow.

Everyone who goes out and buys a second Skyhammer just for the variant instructions is a dink with too much money.

I'm not really going to buy three Skyhammers. I'm happy with the one I have. However, I have two Crankcases now (one clipped, one not) and hope to find the third run. I do have some other variants (Gen Dirge, PCC Huffer) and some package variants (Costco Surface to Air Showdown).

My Skyhammer's code is 10601 and it has the dotted line for the rotors on the instructions. I never noticed that before now. Another interesting note is that 10601 is the same code for clipped Crankcase hands.

Seriously, who even looks at those crappy instruction booklets ??? I would have never noticed this. I just open the box and go straight to youtube. I let the guys who are more experienced do the hard work for me. Opened my booklet for the first time. I have the removable blades picture. Damn he looks better without those blades on his chest like a giant pin wheel.

I transformed him without checking the instructions, but going back I see I also have the removable pics, code 10501. The odd thing is I also just checked the underside of the rotors and found two pins missing, I'm assuming. There are four holes, one in each blade, but only two directly opposite of each other have pins. Just wondering if this is related to the issue?? They seem to serve no purpose as the housing appears to be a solid piece of plastic.

I use the instructions, for two reasons:

1) I enjoy trying to figure out the transformation on my own with minimal help from the instructions.
2) When I open a new TF, I want to start enjoying it right away, rather than turning on my computer, waiting for it to boot up, going to YouTube, searching for the right video, etc.
