First Look at New Transformers Titan Changer Shockwave

The Authentics Titan Changer line is still trucking along. It offers a very affordable option for popular Transformers characters at a larger scale with easy transformations. Shockwave will be joining the ranks as we can see from this listing from Hasbro. While it is the evergreen design, it's basically G1 Shockwave and while the alt mode is meant to be like the Siege toy (kinda), G1 fans will see how easily you can bring the arms down and basically make him a lazer gun.

Below you will see photos showing the robot mode, alt mode and even the converting instructions, enjoy!

I appreciate the Authentic line for what it is and some of these figures are pretty nice.

But that Shockwave "transformation"...

This is illogical. Shockwave would never do the "Trust Fall" and leave his fate to anyone.

But other than that hilarity (but par for the course of the Titan Changer line, so no surprise nor sad/angry about it), it's actually a really good looking Shockwave.

FInally, wow, the money saved for the box art recycling Siege's must've saved Hasbro a tidy sum!

He looks good. But do his knees bend or just turn?

Doesn't look like they bend, so I doubt it. This line isn't known for including articulation that isn't necessary for transformation.

But the upper legs are grey & lower legs are purple plastics. So there should be a joint there. Would be mighty stupid of Hasbro not to put ball joints at the knees rather than mushroom/pin joints.

Yes, each leg is two pieces in order to let the lower legs rotate at the "knee" for the transformation.

Ball joints aren't used in these "shampoo bottle" lines.

I see. That's too bad for articulation. Wouldn't add any cost to production to do so, I think, but I guess having mushroom joints at the knees help with the figure's stability.

Each and every bots of this line have ball joints. Even the Shockwave above, who have them in the shoulders. They just are not all over the figure.

Major Deja vu of discussions about the Cyber Battalion Shockwave from 2018 with the same knee quirk.

At least, this one make some efforts to look like an actual spaceship.

That's ONE of the laziest 'transformations' what I ever did see. It really is just the robot mode keeled over on its back. Glad I don't collect any of THESE things - I experience enough disappointment already...

news article out in UK how half the toy sales last year were toys under £15, maybe thats why hasbro makes messes like this when they could be releasing deluxes back at ye olden day prices
