Hot Rod? Sleep? I dunno.....
This is kinda good news I suppose. Hasbro owns Transformers, though? I thought Takara/Tomy did.
I wish to God they'd expand with Classics though. I feel its the best line they've done since I don't even remember when.

Well, with Star Wars rounding the drain with no new material at the moment, they need a good name to tack whatever they can onto!
Transformers, Spider-Man, the call for mass marketing is upon you! Be prepaired to have anything and everything get your good names put on them!

Is it such a surprise?
But what happens if the movie tanks? Will Hasbro still pump out more Transformers? I guess if they change their designs to some "less realistic" They could still sell a lot of stuff.

When I read the title I was expecting to read they're coming out with a new line. But hey, more TF stuff is always good. Isn't it?

Well, well, well... Is it any coincidence that as soon as they revisit the original Transformers (G1) with the classics line they have their most profitable year ever?
I've been saying it all along... go back to your roots and give your consumers what they want.

Gee, I really don't want to see more movie toys in the future, espeacially monkey scream. I hope they still make more of old TFs, along with more lines like Armanda, Cybertron, Beast Wars, etc, and with the new lines that don't look like creepy metal things that morph, but who knows maybe that will grow on me.

"Is it any coincidence that as soon as they revisit the original Transformers (G1) with the classics line they have their most profitable year ever?"
Is Classics really setting the world on fire in the US? They're doing okay over here (in Toys'r'us in the UK), selling about as well as Cybertron. What they lose in "only associated media being nostalgia-market DVDs" they gain in "not being repaints". Cybertron was a much wider range of better advertised stuff a with similar standard of engineering to the Classics- I would have expected them to have a lot more to with the big sales, myself.
Calling the movie toys "unwanted" seems unduly pessimistic given they're the main characters in a feature film with an associated ad campaign of what can only be described as "biblical proportions".

With any luck, this means more Classics. With any luck, Classics won't stop until every character from seasons 1-3 of G1 gets a facelift.

This actually sounds like they are going to rely less on movie toys, which ebb and flow to the tides of consumers, and rely more on what customers want toy wise.
I'm sure they're not going to stop making movie toys, but hopefully less of them and more of their own non-licensed toys.
That would increase their sales making the lessened availability increase the want(like the classics),driving their sales. Also there would be less back stock in the warehouses.
It also costs a lot to buy those licenses from the licenser, which, if Hasbro can eliminate that buy making successful lines, would make a bigger profit by not paying royalties.
