MP-10 IS going to be an all new G1 Optimus Prime/Convoy mold with trailer, new gimmicks, and a partner/driver. We broke that story weeks ago and now we're getting further confirmation from our site sponsor TFSource.com that Prime/Convoy is the new Masterpiece figure and that images of him will be released within the week.

TFSource has updated their Facebook page with the following:

Takara confirmed today (although many already knew) that MP-10 is a G1 Convoy/Optimus Prime with a new trailer mold. It includes a pilot, and pictures will be out within a week! We'll update the site as soon as it's available!

As soon as the images become available, we'll have them posted for you to see and comment on!

Prime/Covoy with a new trailer and "pilot"? Doesn't it have to be Powermaster Prime/Ginrai?

The problem lies with the Convoy name. Either it's being used to describe a Optimus/Convoy-looking Ginrai MP, or it's THE Convoy himself.

Though I hope that TakTomy would realize that a Ginrai MP would also have the same potential to be repainted (Normal, UltraMagnus+Armor, Black Limited Edition, Fire Guts, Clear, Metallic, Gold Chrome, etc.)

I love Optimus as much as the next guy, I've got 2 boxes devoted to nothing BUT Optimus Prime figures, but when there are enough MP Prime variations that if you placed them end to end with their trailer they would exceed the length of a REAL truck & trailer then it's time to stop making MP Prime/Convoy figures and give us something that will actually excite us and not become an over-priced shelf warmer. At this point I'd get more excited over MP Jumpstarters or Battlechargers with a $250 dollar price tag than I would over yet another MP Convoy. He's starting to rival Movie Bumblebee in terms of repaints/remolds that nobody gives a damn about.
Please please please...give us something COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY new and different!
