Oh man, looks like this will be a hassle for collectors. While we were supposed to have the movie inspired Hot Wheels Transformers cars much earlier this year, a recall on Barricade meant the set's distribution was now up in the air. While a new version of Barricade has been available for a while for worldwide distribution, the set has finally been found in the US at the tail end of December. However, it seems Barricade is not part of it. So far, we have reports of these movie cars appearing in Walmarts in various states with some sets having Barricade while others don't. Looks like the UK has these sets as well with Barricade.
Aside from Barricade, the other cars in the set are Crosshairs, Drift, Bumblebee and Stinger. The cards have the names of the cars rather than the characters as that is how Mattel operates and the art on the card is generic Evergreen art to bypass extra licensing costs as Paramount own the movie designs.

Thanks to Y Team Hot Wheels on Youtube, we have in hand images of the upcoming main line Hot Wheels Optimus Prime cab. This is said to be part of the 2025 case F, which is the same as saying wave 6 2025. Waves 1 and 2 (a and b) have already come out so this should be hitting bins and pegs in late February, early March.

The Hot Wheels 2025 master list had Optimus Prime listed as castings used in the 2025 main line. SO we knew we'd get a solo release of the Optimus Prime cab. And now we have our first look at it. The "2025" highlighted on the card means this is a new casting and not a reuse of the Trackfleet cab. Here's looking forward to more Transformers appearances in Hot Wheels.

Lego is rumoured to continue their yearly Transformers releases in 2025 with Soundwave. The information was found in a Lego Leaks subreddit (link below). Of course, these are still just rumours. Let us know if this is one you’d get.

Good news for Transformers fans and Hot Wheels fans. The final case assortment for 2024 (the Q case) has made its way to Walmarts in the US. This case includes the Bumblebee release in a gold deco, which fans have appropriately dubbed as Goldbug. It was found at Walmart by Manny. These gold Bumblebees are 1 per case of 72, but they will be repacked and more abundant in the case assortment following this one. It is not a treasure hunt item.
Also, there is a reported error where the wrong VW base is used (the original, rather than using the new base that shows BB’s head) so that’s another collectible to watch out for.
Manny’s post also said that he found Track Fleet Optimus Prime at Walmart, which many fans are still on the lookout for. The original post comes from the Botposting Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/share/19Mnj3bM ... tid=K35XfP

Back in August we got our first look at the T-Spark Synergenex line featuring a Transformers crossover with Godzilla. A few months later and pre-orders are now here! Now, this line didn't have a great reception when it was first announced but there has been at least a little interest in seeing Studio Series Grimlock slightly retooled into a Megatron cosplaying as a discount Godzilla while the other is a very gray Legacy Laser Optimus Prime repaint. But the good news is these are actually fairly cheap, all things considered. Both figures are sold at the Japanese retail price of 9,350 JPY, but Amazon Japan is pricing them tentatively at 8,603 JPY which about the price of a Hasbro Leader at around $56 USD. And like I said, that's tentative, Amazon hasn't reduced the price yet, which is good because you're still going to be charged for shipping. The good news there is that both figures are being released on May 31 in Japan so you can split the shipping on the two and save a little over having to ship them at different months if you choose to go this route.
Here are the Amazon Japan pre-orders, but they'll be available basically everywhere in Japan since these aren't exclusives.

It's a sure thing now, the Hot Wheels world has got themselves a new chase figure. We now know that Barricade has gotten a revised version which will be what is sent out to retailers from here on out and indeed, the words "to punish and enslave" are no longer written on the side. This was also confirmed through an instagram shared below, along with an image of the change in livery.

Hot Wheels is recalling their release of Transformers Barricade. We have word from suppliers that their shipments arrived with Barricade missing from the set of Hot Wheels Transformers cars and a sticker has been placed over the back, hiding Barricade where we see the full set. While the recall is true, the reason is just a rumour, and that rumour is that it's been recalled due to the words "punish and enslave".
Western retailers are now selling the complete set as a pack of 4 and not 5. However, not all retailers are sending theirs back to Mattel, with certain Asian based sellers still selling Barricade online, albeit at higher prices.
We don't know if this toy will be rereleased (with out without the words on the side) but right now this toy has the potential to become a really hot Hot Wheels collectible.

Have you all found your Hotwheels Bumblebees yet? It appeared in 2 cases which have come and are now gone, with later 2024 cases now being used for restocking the Hotwheels bins/shelves. If you didnt find one, the gold « repaint » will be coming shortly and in better supply. Not only is demand for this variant less than the original (as the original is also the very first time we had a Hasbro transformers car in the Hotwheels mainline in history), it will also be more abundant. While the gold variant is only one per case in the Q case (the final case of 2024) it appears twice in the A case of 2025 as a default. This is a big improvement on the original release which appeared only one per case in multiple markets, with only some markets ever getting 2 per case.
So yes, the variant will be less rare than the original.
You can see the case breakdown of the 2024 Q case and 2025 A case in the videos below. The gold variant should be hitting stores in the holiday season.

All through October Big Bad Toy Store has been celebrating their 25th anniversary with a month of weekly exclusives ending on the 25th. There have been silhouettes teasing some obvious Super7 ReAction figures for today in the even more obvious shapes of Unicron and Grimlock on the site all month. The reveal is at once disappointing and intriguing.
Grimlock is the same metallic Grimlock that was revealed this week as part of the regular retail line while Unicron is the same figure released at this past SDCC. The catch here is that both figures come in G1 style boxes that look pretty nice compared the usual card backs. Grimlock is $25 and Unicron is $30, both are available right now. It is kinda cute that they think if Unicron was released in 1986 he'd come in a window box.
Also, following up with the previous story on new ReAction figures we now have pictures to go with the listing.

Feels like forever ago that we first fond out about Hasbro and Walmart's next batch of cartoon colored G1 reissues, but the day has finally come! As part of Walmart's latest Collector Con orders have finally opened for Optimus Prime and Bombshell with Ramhorn. People concerned about the pricing of Prime with his trailer in particular will be happy to know that he's priced at $75, that's quite the contrast to the 2018 reissue of just Prime without the trailer that was $50 on its own! Meanwhile the other set is $35 to finish the Insecticons and give Blaster another tape.
And no, this is not a pre-order, these are ready to go now!

Today Hasbro gave us our first look at the upcoming Transformers Collaborative STAR WARS: The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter! Interestingly, unlike other Collaborative releases that gave the figure a new name Hasbro decided to go old school and do what they did with the preview Star Wars crossover line and simply gave the name of the character it looks like and the alt mode. In this case the box simply states it's the Mandalorian and the N-1 Starfighter. The MSRP is $55, a little more than other recent Collaborative releases, but he's also a bit bigger at 7.5" placing him within the usual Leader class range (for comparison Agent Knight is 6.5") assuming they're measuring to his head and not his shoulders.
The figure is listed on Hasbro Pulse as a "Partner Exclusive" and Walmart.com is also listing the figure as part of their latest Collector Con meaning it'll likely only see release in those two places in the USA. Both stores have it listed for release in February 2025.
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Transformers robots have always been -- More Than Meets the Eye -- and now fans can experience Transformers characters as they mash-up with iconic characters who share this same quality
TRANSFORMERS COLLABORATIVE STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN: Kids can imagine a galaxy of adventure with the Transformers STAR WARS: The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter converting action figure
CONVERTS FROM STARSHIP TO ACTION FIGURE: The 7.5-inch (19 cm) figure converts between character mode and N-1 starfighter in 37 steps. Inspired by the N-1 starfighter from the STAR WARS galaxy
AWESOME ACCESSORIES: Includes 6 blast effects, 2 blasters, shield, and cape
PLAY AND DISPLAY: The shield and cape convert to a stand to display the figure in N-1 Starfighter mode
The iconic N-1 Starfighter from Star Wars: The Mandalorian is now a converting Transformers toy! This 7.5-inch (19 cm) figure converts from character mode to N-1 starfighter alt mode and features series-accurate deco and details from The Mandalorian series. It includes 6 blast effects that attach in both modes, 2 blasters, and a shield and cape that convert to a display stand for the figure in starship mode. Transformers robots have always been -- More Than Meets the Eye -- but now, through the Transformers Collaborative, fans can experience these larger-than-life characters as they team-up, mash-up, and meet up with other characters, teams, and people who share this same special quality.

A listing had shown up for an Ark Playset from Super 7, the company that makes the ReAction figures. At $75, we couldn't expect too much, but it turns out people had to set their expectations real low. The "Ark" element of the playset is just a piece of carboard for the background, no different than what comes free with Studio Series figures. The bulk of the $75 goes to the Megatron and Optimus figures that come in the set along with the base acting as terrain. This is similar to previous Super 7 playsets, being a callback to toys from the 70s. It is currently available for preorder on Walmart.com.

Catching up on the Wonder Festival which took place in Shanghai, Blokees showed prototypes of upcoming Transformers model kits. They are branching out in size classes and media type. While it was all G1 and Movies so far, they revealed an IDW Megatron. He looks pretty cute in this slightly chibi design. He will be released in one of their standard blind box lines. They also showed their classic class TF One model kits, which are not blind boxes and come with more parts, and they introduced the Action Edition class. This is an 18 cm tall model kit with more details and more parts. We can see with this Megatron of theirs that you can even remove pieces to get a different look.
These are all official images from Blokees themselves.

We got a teaser for this not long ago, now the orders have opened for Rathalos Prime representing a crossover between Transformers and the Monster Hunter franchise. The figure itself is a heavy retool of Kingdom Airazor, perhaps the most frequently retooled figure in modern history. Alt mode is a pretty good representation of the Rathalos, probably the most iconic monster in the game. The bot mode, on the other hand, well, that's really going to depend on you. It's based on the Rathalos armor from the game with with some blue to let you know it's Optimus Prime, but the proportions are a little off thanks to Airazor's thinner frame.
Pre-orders launch today in Japan, it's unknown if it'll see release from Hasbro. The price is considerably more than most Deluxe figures at 7,150 JPY (about $50 USD) other retailers will be cheaper (under $40 before shipping). Release is expected to be in July 2025.

Blokees are cute, easy and affordable licensed model kits of Transformers characters, you can check out the video below if you want more info on what they are. Blokees has revealed on Twitter 3 new kits coming out in their Transformers One wave. They are Ironhide, Hound and a new troop character called Death Tracker which is based on the vehicons from Transformers Prime. We saw them in the trailers and now we know their official name. Slight spoiler, but the reason they are not "Steeve" this time around is because that name is given to someone else in the film (and no, Jack Black does not make a cameo appearance).
Here is their message:
Blokees Transformers New Reveal!
In GV05, fan-favorites Ironhide, Hound, and DeathTracker return to Cybertron for an epic adventure.
Don’t miss the new wave, launching September 20
It is fun to note that since Blokees models do not transform, using these to release characters that do not have a T Cog in the film, like Ironhide and Prowl works on a thematic level too.
