In-Hand Images: Generations Combiner Wars Skydive

Posted by Mindmaster Dec 3, 2014 at 12:10pm CST 26,021 views
Once more, toy-blogger blacklai of TFND.net has uploaded images of one of the anticipated Generations: Combiner Wars figures, the newest being Aerialbot Skydive! The images show off his beefiness, his new F-18 jet mode, and his arm configuration. The images have been mirrored below for your viewing convenience!

With the new images of Skydive, it brings the series of first in-hand images of the first wave of Generations: Combiner Wars Deluxes to an end. We can only hope that we get in-hand images of the first wave of Voyagers: Silverbolt and Optimus Prime.

Nope. Though it is drawn in the style of the Legends game, it is brand new art. Huffer's robot mode Legends artworks look like these:

Because he is officially part of it, plain and simple. He may not combine with anyone, but he's still released in that line, as the "Combiner Wars" logo on top of the card can attest:

I could see Leader Megatron and Thundercracker being treated the same way.

Hopefully Stack 'em and rack 'em into one BFG.

So far the pictures we've seen have me a little perplexed with the elbows in combined mode.
Hope they work well in hand.

The head sculpt is spot on. And why didn't I see that? I have that toy! :BANG_HEAD:
Runabout's head seems closer a match:

As a "Legends Class" figure, does it mean Powerglide's going to be about 8 cm tall?

Makes sense, but will that hold for both Megatrons ? Though IDW bless them will work them all into the story (megs will be flashbacks as he has is own event in elegant chaos)

He ought to be the same size as all the other Generations Legends we've gotten since 2013. Like Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, Swerve, Cosmos, Tailgate, Skrapnel, Nemesis, Cliffjumper, Acid Storm, and Gears.

I don't have any of those; so yes?

Why do the Aerialbot jet modes all look so awful? They all have very visible hands sticking out of the jet mode! Even the G1 versions hid the hands inside the bodies!

I'm a bit of an aerospace savant, and although they could be easily confused (especially with the wonky proportions), Skydive appears to turn into a Mig-29 rather than an F/A-18. To my eye I'm 100% sure that they were looking at a picture of a Mig-29 when they designed that jet mode.

I like each reveal a little more than the last. I can't wait to hunt these figures down.

Sadly I think us in the UK may get menasor if we're lucky. Toys'r'us having the exclusive rights to generations isn't good. For my shop I'm going to have to import these for the customers.

I'm not a big fan of this Huffer. The PCC version is much better in my opinion. Black Jack looks great, and I'd love to see a repaint of him as Chase!

Are they really any worse than Classics Jetfire, Beast Hunters Starscream, Generations Thunderwing, Machine Wars Megatron/Megaplex and Thundercracker/Skywarp, all three versions of Prime Dreadwing, 2007 Starscream and many many other Transformers with jet alt modes throughout the years?

These Aerialbots look rather good for having essentially four different forms while retaining all their articulation in robot and arm modes. From the front, you can barely tell Skydive even has a problem.

Do you import them through a special wholesaler? Because or else those costs will be really high.
