Legacy Wave 2 Deluxes Found at Target

Posted by william-james88 Aug 23, 2022 at 12:17am CDT 44,177 views
While the wave 2 deluxe class figures have been available at specialty retailers, like comic shops, in the Us for over a month, they never hit full on retail. Well, they have now. A few fans posted their sightings on this Facebook group. All sightings are from Targets but we have sightings in both Arizona and California. This wave includes Tarantulas, Elita-1, Wild Rider and Knockout.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

The original, if released today would be at Commander price at the very minimum. So the new one for the allocated budget is not that bad...

But then I just bought the Reprolabels set at 30$US and I plan to get a few upgrade kits to make it perfect. Thus, resulting in a nearly 200$CAN toy in total... All to make it comparable to the original.
And I do have the original.
Ah, the irony.

Do you ... hate yourself?

Well, it's the hobbyist in me that just can't resist doing it. :-B

Like I did for my ER leader Optimus. It's now worth 300$CAN mainly because the only thing that was available at the time were SHAPEWAY parts. And good Lord ordering anything from Shapeway gets ludicrously expensive. Oh and I count in that overall price the Hasbro Pulse exclusive Centurion set whose cost was nearly 85$CAN shipped.

So as for Legacy Leader Optimus, I'll take my time to look for the right kits to give him. There's so many so I can rule out Shapeway and there's no "essentials" that will be Hasbro Pulse exclusives. So the overall cost this time may be under 200$CAN.

I'd have to say the Legacy standouts for me so far are Cosmos at the top, He's just so much fun and the proportions of the saucer mode for whatever reason really don't look as bad in person as they do in photos. My next 2 favorites are the Prime Arcee and Buklkhead molds. I know they aren't as accurate to the original charachters and that has really turned some people off, but they are both really fun molds. And Jhiaxus is just bad-ass.

Of course Motormaster and Metroplex are outstanding, but I find it hard and unfair to compare Commanders and Titans with the rest.

Honestly there hasn't been a mold or figure yet that I dislike and wish I hadn't bought, but the ones I mentioned above really stand out above the rest.

I'll answer two parts that I dislike about it, the arms and the legs.
The arms in alt mode do not seem cohesive to the vehicle, they are just an extra block and don't peg securely.
The legs are the same recycled legs I have seen so many timed before, getting really sick of them, they make the figure feel so cheap in terms of recycling previous elements, including now vestigial parts.

Thankfully for me, I never owned seige or earthrise optimus. That positively influences my opinion of the figure, I'm sure.

If you can find the Netflix Spoiler Pack Nemesis Prime at a reasonable price (meaning normal leade) go for it. It's freaking BAD-ASS and the Siege mold work wonder for Nemesis.

Agreed wholeheartedly, Cosmos is a great figure! As for the rest (omitting Commander and Titan classes), I would have to put Blitzwing near the top of the list. His robot mode is fantastic, and the only downside to me is the jet mode kibble, but it's not enough for me to dislike the figure overall.

There were a few small issues with Menasor

looks like this upgrade kit will fix them?

I'm too poor to afford a nemesis prime in my collection unless it is below deluxe price point. :( But I have a suspicion that I know where I can get one (without paying a dime, ]legally  ]).....Not the seige mold though.

According to a friend who studies military vehicles and such, the jet mode is accurate, even the kibble. (though it might not be accurate to the right thing.)

Please show me a jet with treads and a tank turret visibly hanging under it.

Maybe it's thanks to writing those hundreds of ranking lists but I can always brings a figure to my satisfaction divided by it's price. So the value I place on the figure. In some cases, like with MP Wheeljack, I feel I do get a lot more for paying more than I would for a mainline toy, but with TR Fortress Maximus, I don't feel I got something good for the money I paid. Same with how I find more value in Kingdom Rodimus than MP Hot Rodimus. Some even out, like Kingdom and MP Primal.

I don't own either yet though the legacy titan nor commander yet, so we'll see.

The arms do peg in securely in truck mode. You have to unfold the kneecaps to expose the tabs that will slot into and secure the arms.

I'm still hopeful that a Stunticon set is on the horizon by :TAKARATOMY: . Considering combiners in CW figures were both single and box sets. Even if :HASBRO: boxes them like with Devastator.

Anyway looks like BBTS is carrying the expected upgrade for those that want to beef up their Menasor courtesy of DNA Design! :VEHI:

I was all for this at one time as well, but that time has passed. Three members of the team are out, and the first will be very hard to find soon. There has to be a reasonable time frame. Announcing a box set After an entire team has been released, or as the last member is coming out is a real jerk move. During CW, at least :TAKARATOMY: showed the silhouette of their UW sets early enough so people like me who wanted to pre order the imports could do so without purchasing the CW individual bots first.

During PotP, I waited until It was absolutely certain that TT wouldn't be doing box sets before I started purchasing.

Of course if you go the SS RotF Constructicon route, or TT Gen Selects route and release the set 2 or 3 years after the initial toys come out with some shiny new accessories and/or a new paint job for an astronomical price, that is a jerk move as well.

I've also heard rumblings/requests for Legacy Menasor to be repainted as G2. Please No! They tried this with CW, and they ended up on clearance for $39, and they didn't even get to finish with Defensor!

If that's the case, that would be unfortunate. However, weren't (most of) the movie Constructicons out already, before Studio Series 69 was announced?

The team was all done and released before that set was announced and out. Due to inflation waiting on a box set may cost you more. Just go buy them. Dragstrip is everywhere in stores, Motormaster is available online everywhere which wildrider trickling out. Don’t bank on a box set they could or couldn’t happen

Looks like I'll be swinging by Target tonight after work. Besides Inferno, Tarantulas is the only other Legacy figure I want. Amazon hasn't updated the preorder.
