"According to di Bonaventura, director Michael Bay's use of 3D technology this time around will take the franchise to the next level.
"It captures scenes in a way they haven't been captured before and here's a different sensibility to the movie as a result" he explained. "Michael is so awesome at shooting, the question originally was how the cameras would work because they're cumbersome. Look how long it took Jim Cameron to make one movie. All those things are quite daunting, but Michael figured out how to use the cameras in a day.
"We had a day early in pre-production set aside just so he could test the cameras and see what they were like. If you look at Avatar, the camera isn't sweeping around in the way Michael uses the camera, so we had to make sure it could do what Michael does. I think people are going to be pretty wowed by the result."
Aside from the 3D however, what will be different this time around?
"What you can expect is more comedy than we've ever had before" di Bonaventura revealed. "You can expect bigger action sequences than we've ever had before and you can expect a different character through-line for our lead because he's a little bit older and Rosie's a little bit older - there's a maturity there that didn't exist before.
"He's moved on to a new stage in his life with a job, and that's an interesting rite of passage, so I think it has the emotional elements that people are expecting of the movie, but they've moved forward in time, if you would."

I snickered at the part about Sam having a job.
"Excuse me boss, I've got to run. Got a world to save!"
"You walk out that door Witwicky and you're fired!"
"It's only my 4th job this month, I hope this emergency is better than the last."
lol

More action is good-you wont hear me complaining about it as long as the action is actually CLEAR and not the blurry jumbles of silverware we had in previous offerings.
In terms of comedy, I have no problem with it if it is done like it was in the first movie. There were scenes that were actually quite amusing, such as the Autobots "stealthily" stomping around Sam's back yard and quietly bickering, or Ratchet throwing out that embarrassing comment about the "boy's pheromone levels". Unfortunately, the cleverness disappeared in ROTF and the comedy came across as juvenile or just plain lame in most cases. I hope this time that the comic relief is more like the former than the latter.

So what people are saying, if I got the gist here, is that EVERYONE pretty much admits that these movies are for children, only children, and that only a child would appreciate it.
Good to know ahead of time, I'll go see something else. Maybe something from Pixar.

I rather liked devastators joke, more like that in a serious figth scene I can live with, also with the scorponok scene in 2007 with left cheek, left cheek, left cheek!
"This bad comedy" No cyclonus your bad comedy!
I say yes with comedy and no with haters or those with no humour

This is all what they pretty much had said prior to it's release. Ugh
, I'm bettin' it's gonna be ROTF all over again. Why can't they do a film more along the lines of the first one. Oh well I guess, it'll make huge bank and keep Transformers relevant for years to come. But I got a huge feeling it's gonna be just as bad as ROTF.

Ha ha ha. That was totally my concern.... more comedy and explosions... plus more human character development.
Wait, wasn't I coming to see a movie about robots?

The hell you say! A Transformers actually about the Transformers, pffftt..... who needs that when all the Transformers fans in the world are more concerned with how Sam will handle his new job and his new love interest. It's all about his coming of age story, thought you knew that.

Priceless quote!
Not really. Even in the beginning of G1, it was a matter of robots interacting with humans by accidentally bringing a war to the planet.
See bold text above. For us as fans this is all we should be concerned about. Personally, I like the diversity of the multiple universes and timelines- keeps it from getting boring and repetitive- but I would hate to see Transformers cease to exist.
Wow...you are a masochist.
Two words: forest fight. Nuff said.

Remember folks, the box says "For Ages 30 And Up", I mean, it's not rocket surgery here...TransFormers aren't for kids, silly rabbit!

The dogs scene was just....a waste of effort, life, and film...Devastator was just weird...
Glenn was actually funny at least and now I hear(well from long ago) that LEO gets a larger role?
I really didn't like Leo >_>
As Burn said, it was a joke. I don't even see how you could think that was a serious sentence.

What you want is more rubbish films, so thank god you don't decide for any of us. For you they are somehow deep and meaningful...you're a Bay fan, not a Transformers fan.

Just like I have with the first 2 movie, I can't wait to see The Dark of the Moon. Also, I'm okay with the comedy as long as it helps the movie, and it doesn't overshadow the rest of the story.

I think *edit*, and that Bay should just *edit* and all of you on here can go and *edit* yourselves. I just can't stand *edit* and if I have to *edit* one more time I'm just going to *edit* myself and then I'll show all of you that *edit* isn't worth *edit* until *edit* and *edit* *edit* *edit*
Take that you *edit*
...and another one
*edit*
Whew...I feel better. Sorry to offend, but I just had to speak my mind.

I'm okay with more humor- as long as it's actually funny. But not if it's fucking stupid and over-the-top like in ROTF.
But I get the sneaking suspicion "LOLZ MORE COMEDY" actually means "now with poop jokes!"

I just hope that Bay's 'comedy' doesn't ruin the movie. Cuz that would really suck.

I hate to say it but I have been with Transformers since the begining and it has never not been goofy. The only time I have ever seen serious is the import cartoons and dubbed shows suck. Then there is a few of the comics.Besides that TF has always been silly. The movie really improved the comedy compared to what I'm used to.I think the movie is the best thing to happen to motion pictures TF's.Bay's not perfect but i can only imagine these movies being way worse from someone else.I fear when bay is done the next movies they make will suck.Keep in mind this is still hasbro's baby and it will never get a rated R movie. Its will always be aimed mostly at children, there will always be humans and always be silly humor.Like all blockbuster movies ever made with a PG-Pg13 rating.I personally like the comedy.I Lamo when I saw Devestators balls and Wheelie humping legs.Kinda broke up the movie a little and made it fun.At the end of the day a fun movie is all I want. The first two Transformers are my favorite two movies ever.It was a child hood dream to see it like that.Only thing that can beat it is the third movie. Some of the haters need to lighten up just a bit.Go watch G1 then watch the movie tell me whats silly.

First of all more action isnt going to save this movie, a good and well thought out story is. ROTF had some good battle scenes but the movie still sucked. Bays answer to every thing is more explosions & more action. Some times it works but not here. And more comedy from some one who has no clue how to incorporate comedy into these films, wonderful. Hopefully this time around he didnt go to a bunch of 9 year olds for comedic input. If these movies were ment for the kiddies they wouldnt be pg-13. Yeah sure keep some of the low brow humor its always funny at some points but dont rely on it. Oh and for the person who said Bay is better than Cameron, your an ass my friend and obviously know nothing about cinema. Cameron has had way better movies across his career than Bay has. Yes Bay has had a few good movies (none of which are the TF movies) but Cameron has had more and hes a much better director & writer.
