It looks like the Headmasters' Nebulan counterparts seized their transtectors to fight Scorponok/Zarak.

Keep in mind, The Rebirth did eventually get dubbed in Japanese, but was treated as separate from the main Japanese continuity, complete with its maintaining the American theme song opening sequence.
It looks like the Brainstorm, Chromedome, and Hardhead that come in the Headmasters Set are actually the Nebulans Arcana, Stylor, and Duros from The Rebirth. Could we be looking at how Nebulans came to be in the Japanese G1 universe as they were mentioned to exist in the Nucleon Quest Super Convoy bio?

They are there, sneak attacked by their Nebulan doublegangers. And teaming-up with them later to defeat Scorponok.
That what it looks like to me.

I think fenrir was asking about the full-sized Autobot Headmasters from The Rebirth. If their Nebulan partners are here, what happened to the big guys? Are they all stuck in vehicle mode now, being headless and such?Cyberpath wrote:fenrir72 wrote:Cyberpath wrote:It looks like the Headmasters' Nebulan counterparts seized their transtectors to fight Scorponok/Zarak.

You read my mind. Were they left in the American G1 universe then?

Huh, looks like Grimock ended up working at the same maid cafe Windblade and Cab (a guy in drag) are working at, owned by BWII Starscream. How the mighty have fallen... I like how the Crashbash body works for him.
It looks like Brawn, Grimlock and Flywheels have found the Hive City... which Flywheels thinks it's a shopping center (or it's posing as one)
Note how it's not named "Scorponok" upon transformation, but "Gigantic Machine Scorpion"
The Neublan and the JP Headmaster interaction in the manga is a neat call back to how the Headmasters worked in the US cartoon, with the partner in a cockpit. It's more of a reversal of the norm in that the Nebulans control the whole body and the Headmasters are in the cockpit this time!
Also neat is that Grimlock and Brawn get their original vehicle models via their redecos Butler/Batora and Synapse! What's more, the combined modes are called "Two-In-One", the Japanese name for the Duocons! Flywheels gets nothing, ironically. We also learn a consequence of using Batora's capture mode: you're stuck like that every time it happens

I was wondering if anyone has any idea if Takara is still selling it's Cloud toys cheap at show as it has in the past - I was wondering if they might have some at Wonderfest ?

Even in Re-birth, the system was kind of the same except that the vehicles were sentient and that the Headmasters were organic while Takara's were pure cybertronian.

Coming to you from Wonderfest all the way from Japan is images of Godbomber! Wonderfest is a trade show similar to toy fair which showcases new toys soon to be on the market in Japan. Twitter users Diver and Chromless have posted some pictures of what Godbomber will look like, and the combined form of Godginrai (with Super Ginrai). Check them out!

Gotta admit, it is making me wonder where the heck Godbomber was in those TR Boxsets when it would have made sense with Magnus Prime and it was consistently rumoured. Would've liked it a heck of a lot more than I-am-totally-quickswitch-and-not-bad-extremely-loose-redeco
Maybe they changed their plans half the way through?

The Wonderfest 2017 juggernaut just keeps on rolling, with the next set of figures up for images. Here we have the LG-EX headmaster set, which is comprised of 6 Hasbro Titans Return Titan Master figures in Takara legends coloring, so that way if you own a legends figure, you can actually swap heads with appropriate colors! The set is comprised of: Brainstorm, Hardhead, Chromedome, Flywheels, Gong (AKA Brawn), and Grimlock. You can check out the images below courtesy of Twitter users いたっちょ@PSO2_Ship1, たごーる, and トランスフォーマー情報局!
