That black rectangle all along Optimus' chest makes me vomit. The worst part is that it looks like a pretty cool transformation.

Found the Studio Series Deluxes last night at Dillons Marketplace (part of the Kroger chain) in Derby, Kansas.
He says there were 2 of each deluxe, which makes sense in a case of 8. These were priced at $24.99 USD. While it appeared that these would only be coming to retail in April, this confirms that these deluxes are ready to ship to retailers and that Hasbro has already shipped some out.
The ones found at Dillons Marketplace were Ratchet, Stinger, Bumblebee, Crowbar, and you can see in hand images of those toys here if you are thinking of picking them up. Also, for those unaware, the Takara version of this line will have the exact same toys, as you can see here, so fans don't need to wait for their releases this time.
If you find them, let us know in our sightings section and sightings forum!

Relax, I'm willing to bet that is just the store chain jacking the price.

It is the chain, trust me. Dillon's is a grocery store like Albertson's, Tom Thumb, and of course Kroger. Surprised they appeared there of all places, but that may be a store not paying attention to the 4/20 street date.

Check out the images below, featuring Grimlock in both Tyrannosaurus Rex (liberally inspired by) and robot modes, plus some poses, including a very static one with the background that is part of the line's packaging. Is this movieverse design something that interests you at all? Will you picking one up? Make sure to let us know in the Energon Pub discussion forums, and join the conversation!

These are standard retail toys available sometime this year between now and summer

I posted above that some of them are officially available to preorder from Amazon Japan, although Grimlock is only available via a private seller for silly money. Amazon Japan exports toys outside Japan, btw.

There is not a single bayformer ever that you like. You come to the bayformers threads just to hate on bayformers. Every single times. So what's even the point commenting?
Posted by Spider5800 on February 27th, 2018 @ 9:05pm CST
Edit: NVM, I just looked it up, and Grimlock actually turns BOTH hands into maces at certain points in AOE. So I guess it doesn't matter for him.
Blackout still bugs me though, lol.

I understand why you wouldn't like the designs, but imagine it as a twisted, Unicron dino-robot, and it's amazing. I'm probably going to get there official AND the inevitable recoloured KOs. It looks that good to me (and I'm not a fan of Bayformers). This is proof that some turds CAN be polished.

I don't often buy Leader figures these days due to preferring Voyagers for my 'leader type' characters such as Prime and Megatron but movie Grimmy has to be huge and this is the closest thing to the pefect movie Grimlock. So gimme that Grimmy!

Carnivius_Prime wrote:Bloody gorgeous. As much as I like my AoE Voyager Grimmy, this one is a far better representation of the character right off the screen and blows the AoE Leader figure away with improved proportions, detail, colouring, in both modes and still has the size to tower over the voyagers and deluxes.

It's amazing how the recent film Grimlock is far better than the recent G1 version...

Yweggo wrote:Part of me really wants Grimlock, but I'm afraid he is going to be too big with my other bayverse Dinobots. Which was the reason I didn't like AoE Scorn(who is my only TLK figure).
I have my movie dinobots display. And for sure, leader Grimlock will be too big with them.
However, that leader Grimlock will be displayed with my G1 and MP in the "mini Grimmy shrine".

To be fair, that one also had to turn into a torso. Though we're lucky that no one whispered into the story writers wars about a team of combining Dinobots, imagine volcanuis movie style!

I remember us (me, you Burn, Kanrabat and others) saying the same when we saw TLK Leader Megatron.
Did that toy turn out to meet your expectations?

But man, the 'spare' head is a huge taint (for me, anyway). It makes the figure look a little off if you look at it from any angle other than directly in front, and just seems like such a weird solution. Couldn't they have made the spare head look like the lower jaw? It would be a little less film accurate but overall look so much neater/better.
The rex legs also look a little strange, but maybe they look better in person or from different angles.
Despite these complains, I think the figure is pretty stunning and I'll probably pick it up if I ever get the chance...

The Wei Jiang version certainly did. I'm sure Grimlock will prove itself, either in the Hasbro/Takara or Wei Jiang version.

Are you referring to the robot mode? Its made so that it matches the cg model where Grimlock had 2 full tyranosaurus heads on his shoulders. Looking back, yeah he totally did.
GO to the 2:30 mark
Most dinobots have 2 of the same to keep symetry (like Slug and two heads) and they are now bringing this to the toys.

However, I must admit I really like this line and if there was one movie line I'd consider getting right now it would be this.. alas.. poverty.

Not exactly, but it was still a good figure. The voyager killed it, so my opinions on the toys were slightly backwards, but still well worth the money.
And if I got excited for a toy and then thought about how I was previously excited for came out and used that as a reference for looking at and actually saying how awesome they look, things would be boring. Sometimes they live up to expectations, sometimes they don't. This one is incredible, so I am looking forward to it as much as I have said I am

Well butter my biscuit; I never noticed that before! Thanks for pointing that out.

I think I've seen so much more of the toys/concept art than the CGI models (I've only seen the film in its entirety once) I just assumed that the head being split into shoulder parts was the norm for Grim and Slug.
In that case, I'm even more impressed by the figure's commitment to accuracy but am significantly less impressed with the general movie design for Grim as a whole. What a bizarre design choice.

I was very hyped about the VOYAGER TLK Megatron. But the leader, I had reservations. On pictures, I was disapointed how the wings were just on the back and how much "barrel chested" the leader was. I bought the voyager with anticipation.
Had the voyager and I'm still blown away. Voyager TLK Megs is in my main Megs display.
Got the leader, wasn't impressed and it had a factory defect. I returned it.

It is made to be safely removed without worry.
