More Transformers Titans Return Chromedome figures Found with Takara Face Sculpts

Strange things are afoot, Seibertronians!
Today our very own Scotty P made a routine trip to Walmart in North Carolina where he found an additional 3 Titans Return Chromedomes with the Takara Legends headsculpt! We reported on this yesterday, but this second sighting proves it wasn't a prank or figure swap. Oddly enough, this coincides with the Takara box-set release of the Hasbro Titan Master sculpts. Could the two possibly be linked? Is a head-exchange in the works? Check out the provided photos from Scotty, and please tell us if you find Chromedome (or any other Titans Return figure, for that matter) with an odd face sculpt.

Welp I totally forgot to check Chromedomes on my routine yesterday. I'll do it today (he says, in the full knowledge that he'll totally forget again).

As to the open/not open discussion - if I find one, I'll probably keep it boxed because I imagine these will end up being rather valuable (as novelties if nothing else). If I find two, you can bet your britches I'll be opening one! I'd love to have a fully-painted Stylor, whether I decide to use the IDW-ish or Headmasters face - and then "real" Hasbro Stylor can get Hot Rod's face and become his TM! Like that arm-swap from a while back, but with more added red and less broken balljoints.

Got home a little while ago and had a chance to open it up. For context, I have both the earlier Hasbro TR Chromedome and the Takara LG release.

The head of the Hasbro one I bought today is not just the Hasbro colors using the Takara sculpt, it is literally the Takara Legends head. Same plastic, same paint, even the same black screw used to hold it together. All of the other screws are silver on the Hasbro versions.

I think that there's an equal chance of this being deliberate as compared to the chance that someone at the factory just plain messed up! If it's the latter, Ill be curious to see if one of the upcoming runs of LG-32 has the Hasbro Titan Masters inside.

One last thing - this store also had a Skullcruncher and Hardhead and there are no changes to those in this case pack.

Awww shucks, I was hoping I had 2 of a kind.......
Those that doubted me...Shame on you! :-P

Any ways, I'm glad that others are finding this. I'd say be patient and wait to find it in the wild. Maybe even the online shops will eventually get this new case assortment in stock.

Several Takara-face Chromedomes as well as Titans Return wave 3 figures at Wal-Mart @ 4801 S. Cooper St, Arlington, TX 76017

Concerning the head swaps, I'd pay closer attention to the ones who were in that Legends Headmasters set, namely Chromedome, Hardhead and Brainstorm. Then again, if Hardheads and Brainstorms without mouthplates start showing up, we can conclude one of two things:

1.) It's intentional
2.) Someone at the factory needs glasses.

I actually wouldn't mind a second Brainstorm, one without a mouthplate.

I'm thinking that one won't be as likely since he was a Walgreen's exclusive (at least in the US) and they seemed to go from wave 2 to wave 4 to wave 3 already. But Hardhead is a good call, I've got to pay more attention to those while I'm out hunting.

It's literally the Japanese Headmaster on a US Body. Plastic colors, paint apps, everything matches their respective regions.

I like both 'Domes, but slightly prefer the MTMTE version!
