Posted by D-Maximal_Primal Mar 13, 2022 at 1:56pm CDT 53,507 views
Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian Sabrblade, we have news that the upcoming Transformers Botbot series has released a new clip via Netflix on Youtube!

Transformers Botbots is set to follow the wacky escapades of our favorite little Transformers that literally turn into anything and everything that might be found in a mall after an Energon cloud strikes and brings them to life. In this new clip, we see Burgertron finding himself in the lost and found, where he has found and is introducing himself to the Lost bots, a group of Botbots who all ended up in the lost and found and have no idea that the outside world exists. Burgertron gives us a nice bit of exposition for the series in the clip.

Check it out below, and watch for Botbots to drop on March 25 on Netflix!

In this new clip, we see Burgertron trying to get the Lost bots, a group of Botbots who all ended up in the lost and found and have no idea that the outside world exists, motivated to return the phone of the mall security guard. Being lost bots, the botbots are more interested in playing with the phone and its many apps than actually returning it.

I am currently on episode 3. This show is so much fun.

the theme song is pretty catchy and fun.

Age of Extinction Grimlock keeps showing up in cameos and it is really pure fun.

The one episode that is a Hamilton parody is also a ton of fun.

Overall, I am loving it!

My favourite episode is when they play with the phone.

That was great. There hasn't been a disappointing episode for me yet

I watched the first two and a half episodes before deciding my wife might like it too - we ended up binging the first five last night. It's so great to share something TF with her. I really like it and will definitely be getting into the toys.

I completed the entire series yesterday.

It was an absolute BLAST!

There were so many fun things with the series. And there were a lot of fun references to both Transformers and the wider range of the world.

There was a Hamilton parody episode, that was wonderful.

Age of Extinction Grimlock cameod as an easter egg in maybe 3 episodes.

An episode about the botbots not realizing they were causing their mall to overheat an were bringing about their own destruction? hahaha

And then there was that season finale last second moment. Bigger TF lore indeed. And for once, the references were to a completely different area than G1. That was welcome and refreshing.

We did get a "freedom is the right of all sentient beings" too, and that was immediately undercut in the same way my brain was when I first heard that saying.

It was just great. They had a lot of fun making this, and they made it fun

Just finished it. People have compared this show to The Amazing World of Gumball, a show I didn't watch. So, making a Transformers version was probably a good way to get me to watch a show like this. I found myself really enjoying it, more than I thought I would. The writing was really charming, clever, and at times downright hilarious. My favorite funny moment has got to be when Kikmee increased Dave's robot-dinosaur order quantity to 1000 right before he was instantly charged for that many. I lost it at his tidal wave of panicked reactions.

I was also very surprised to see that there was an actual ongoing storyline with various plot threads continuing from episode-to-episode. The Lost Bots' quest to get back in good graces with the other tribes, Dave's attempts to uncover the truth of the BotBots' existence, Spud Muffin's gradual descent from arrogant jock to villainous schemer, all of these were given room to grow and develop over the course of the season. That really kept my attention and made me want to see where the story would go and what the payoff would be. Of course, the end result was predictable, but also apropos to the kind of message this show was trying to convey.

Clogstopper's gross-out humor didn't bother me too much, since it was less on the disgusting level of Revenge of the Fallen and more like Captain Underpants. Though, speaking of the live action movies, the very end of the season leaves me wondering if the universe of this show could be considered a Movieverse universe, since something very integral to the Movieverse pops up in the final episode. And there are a lot of live-action images shown throughout the show, soooo... maybe? I mean, not every Movieverse universe is in live action: There's comics, novels, and web cartoons too.

Overall, this was a fun show.

The Botbots' "awakening" as robots is similar to the bayverse Allspark's effect on everyday objects, right? Maybe the cartoon is just an aesthetic choice to represent that universe?

As long as you include info about Botbots not being available in all regions, such as Japan, then yes. I have included two screenshots; one is a search for the show via the Netflix app in Japan and the other is from an online conversation I had with Netflix customer service.

I can't confirm if the UK and other regions got the show (as the staff seemed to believe that only the US got it?) but from the, ahem, "3P" sourced episodes, it appears the show was translated into several other languages (although that might just be a reflection of multiculturalism in the US/UK/etc).

It's probably a similar case to how Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy still haven't come to Japan either. It may have to do with the toylines of these three series having not been released at Japanese retail. The Netflix War For Cybertron Trilogy got dubbed in Japanese and had all three Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom toylines sold in Japan. Takara may not see the point in having these three non-war series dubbed in Japanese if they aren't selling the toys over there, which could be the very roadblock keeping you from watching all three of them legally on Japanese Netflix.

I understand that, but as it was seemingly a Netflix-produced show, I would have thought we were beyond that. The American cg TF shows contained characters, I believe, that were not available in Japan (such as the female combiner team, etc), plus the American He-Man shows are available in Japan on Netflix (see screenshot in my original post), even though the toys are not, as far as I know.

Also, as I have shown in a previous post, an official Netflix Youtube account made the first episode available to stream and i was able to watch it in Japan without any problems. Usually, the American trailers for, say, old Startrek DISCO episodes were blocked in Japan on Youtube, even though the full episodes were, at the time, available on Netflix Japan.

It's not the end of the world though. With the increases in price, lack of content and other problems plaguing Netflix et al at this point, piracy or just other media/activities and/or cancelling official subscriptions seems to be on the rise again...

BotBots is produced by Entertainment One and animated by Boulder Media Studio. Netflix just distributes it.

primalxconvoy wrote:I would have thought we were beyond that.
Not if the continuing lack of Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy in Japan are an indication, unfortunately.

There were no combiners in the Netflix WFCT cartoon.

He-Man's owned by a different company who plays by different rules.
